The best Years.i am a French Canadian lady 77years old.
That brings so much memories of my childhood.
I started to cry when i saw that video
It reminds me when I was young
I miss my dad and mom
No longer here They both pass away
We wore 3girls and one boy in our family
My dad had a amazing voice
He sang like Al Jolson. Louis Armstrong. Fats DOMINO.
Brought in a home with lots of singing and music
My life was a bit like Celine Dion
The French loves to have a good time.
Now i live with the memories
I try not to cry to much
The older days in my eyes wore the best days.

I sure loved Bing's talents. also. I start many a morning out with Bing singing a hymn or Christmas carol, as I get up. I sorry your parents are gone. You will reunite again, as you know. God Bless, you. ✨🕊✨

Dear Lady, I agree however Jolson was the best in my eyes, of course Crosby came pretty close too, 77 years young isn't that old, when your heart is lifted by these great singers, we never age inside, we are as we've always been the inner us is timeless like Jolson's songs.

I love how he jokes around until he is ready to sing. Suddenly, he takes the song very seriously. Like a master at his work.

Bing could be talking and then just go into a song just that easy, he was great.

You don't think of Cole Porter as a balladeer, but he sure knocked it out of the park with this song from the Movie Musical "High Society" starring Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Grace Kelley, Satchmo Armstrong. "High Society" a musical remake of "Philadelphia Story" which starred Katherine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, Cary Grant.

Not a typical Cole Porter composition (nor was "Don't Fence Me In"), and several times I've had trouble convincing folks he wrote these. But this song worked out quite well for Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly. Appreciated to this very day.

I still love Bing Crosby and sadly the much of material Elvis sang was stale. This song Bing sang with Grace Kelly, is a classic. . We same young people that loved Elvis also love Bing singing, 'White Christmas, plus all his other Christmas songs. Bing had a longer career, than Elvis.

I don't usually go with far out there stories, but that minister named Bob Joyce, looks and sounds as Elvis. He was filmed once even, going in and out of Graceland. He lives 200 miles from Graceland.
I watched a video of that elder start a church hymn out on his guitar with the introduction notes perfectly done of the song, ' Suspicious minds.'. I was blown away. (Suspicious minds, Marie's the Name, return to Sender, and his other later works are my very favorite Songs, by Elvis. 'The wonder of you,'. 'Kentucky Rain,') I am very good at matching children's faces up with their elder, selves. Check him out. Its the most perfect Elvis, right into old age. It keeps the rumors going. You are about 4 years my senior. We saw and heard so many wonderful musicians and entertainers, in our youth. Take care, and Have a pleasant Day! 👍🏻

I'm only 37 so I definitely missed that. I grew up hearing my pop Joe play Sinatra tunes regularly and occasional Bing tunes. Don't know much about Bing but I do know Franky Sin blew him out of the water during his rise to the top and it subsequently fractured their friendship.

    • @ivangranger8494
      @ivangranger8494 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

M_biid_P. Bing was the biggest singer in the 30's and 40's. (Bing entertained our troops during WWII.)
He started in the 1920's and Paul Whiteman took him on board in his band. Bing, Harry Barris, and Al Rinker were The Rhythm Boys. Frank was with Tommy Dorsey. Both Bing and Frank made many movies, also. Bing was a decade plus, older than Frank. I am not aware of them not getting along. They performed together, plus their own styles.
One came soon after the other, so You are more aware of Frank's outstanding talents. They were both outstanding. Bing was there for both Judy Garland and Rosemary Clooney, when they experienced trauma in their lives, helping them restart. I wish to concentrate on the positive aspects of both men, and their gifts of song and acting, they gave us. (I forgot to mention Bing was outstandingly handsome, in his youth. Enjoy their talents, and Best Wishes. 👍🏻✨🕊✨

Bing was the top recording start of the first 50 years of the last century. (You can argue that he was the biggest recording star ... ever.) He was the number one box office star for five years running.
Gable didn't do that. Neither did Grant, Stewart, Cooper, or Brando.
He had one of the top radio shows back when radio was king. His TV specials attracted huge audiences.
He was the first multi-media superstar and had a huge international following.
He had a big influence on the singers who followed him including como, sinatra, martin, and williams.
He had an excellent voice and sang every kind of song imaginable. He sounded great at the end of his life. (His last duet, with David Bowie is a classic. He completed it the week before he died).
He was extremely innovative and pioneered multi-track recording with Les Paul. He helped finance the development of audio and videotape recording. He owned a baseball team, race track, and orange juice company. He started the Pebble Beach Pro Am golf tournament.
He was -- understatement alert -- a pretty successful guy.
