In 2019, I watched this video a lot on the TV in my little cousin's Oman home in 2019. The nostalgia still holds up. In 2024, a lot has changed and my motivations have completely changed.

Pretty interesting. Only major issue as someone not that into electronics, but kind of a no brainer is, will this not over heat? No vents or a fan for cooling. Even I know that something that small needs some way of cooling off, especially if used for more than just a few minutes at a time.

This is the best method by far for tagging lithium cells as it is highly predictable and avoids overheating them.

    Problems with this video:
    1. 0:39 scruff up the surface first. You are heating the battery up too much.
    2. 1:09 That is not a complete solder. You can still see the wire is floating. this means the wire is still partially cold and un-melted.
    3. 3:11 pushing via exposed contacts.... with metallic conductive tweezers -_-
4.. 4:45 using sharp pointy tweezers . this kills the ribbon cable. hold it in a way the pointy end is not on the cable!
and showing a fake "gameplay". your finger movement is happening after the bike moves on screen....

Yes its true even though the lack of liquid chemicals in modern batteries reduces risks of damage and explosions due to boiling, you should be very fast at doing that anyway... And maybe just melt the wire a little before attaching it, for sure its wrong to leave a "pool" of molten metal in the battery`s surface.....

Do you have a old type of laptop battery
If yes open it you will get 4-6 batteries for free
If the laptop battery is not working break it and check the voltage of every battery one of them would have a diffrent voltage that will be dead.

Let me start by saying I think this was a cool project. Good job. I personally don't think you can't take an off the shelf SBC and use battery cells like that and ever hope to fit it in a normal "pocket". You'd have to create your own PCB and use a thin and flat battery. I'd love to see a project done like that. Keep working hard.
