Thank you for the video. I have the same vehicle and have been looking into LED swap. Please post an update when you get fog lights replaced. Also, have you been pleased with the low beams so far? Do the bulbs operate fine in daytime running lamp mode? I have heard that some LED bulbs dont function properly in a DRL setting.
The Led bulb is way way better. We did have to turn off the DRL feature, they were staying on for some reason. We have been busy lately and I haven't had a chance to do the fogs yet. I will here shortly.

What does that actually mean though, when you turn the car off, the car will keep the headlights on indefinitely if you leave the headlight switch in "auto"? If the DRL feature in the menu on your dashboard or are you guys just saying you turn your lights to "off" instead of "auto"?
Looking at the video, it appears that the Low beam has a flat cutoff.. Is that the case? I'm signing on mine today, and will be doing this next week. Debating on HID for projectors to make sure there is no cutoff. TIA
There is a cutoff, but not too bad on our expedition. Its higher than some other peoples trucks that I've seen. It turned out great on ours. I'm still hoping that someone makes an aftermarket lense soon.

Mike Does It All The wire harness would be different for the stock LED housing wouldn’t it? I know a lot of manufacturers it’s completely different and you need a conversion harness which I haven’t see one yet. I know to change my F350 there is a conversation harness. I have a 2018 Expedition Limited and would love to swap for factory LED housing.
@@franktank9573 did you get one of the limited models with halogens? And yes, the wiring harness would be different. It would take some time, but I'm pretty sure I could figure it out. Just won't spend that kind of money for the lenses to try it out.

I ordered Sealight led combo high/low beam kit on amazon for a 2019 expedition xlt. I installed the high beam and when I turn on the high beam, they won’t stay on. It turns back to low beams. Low beams work fine. Any ideas? Thanks!
So I just picked up a 2019 XLT 202 also and watched all of your posts for the front LEDs. Question, what made you decide on the lights you chose? The Hikari for the low and high and the Alla for the fogs? I’ve done the fogs with the same ones you used and cosmetically they look great, for functional lighting they seem a little dim. Now I’m not sure if it’s just the housing and reflector design or the brightness of the bulb? I’m comparing the night light production to my previous stock Jeep Grand Cherokee led fogs and my Wrangler stock LED fogs. Just curious how much research you did on the LEDs available. Thanks!
On the fogs, I checked around on some forums and watched other TH-cam videos. The fogs I think have a lot to do with the design of the housings. The Hikaris, saw a bunch of people on forums using them, and also the technology behind them. The placement of the led to match that of a normal holegen bulb. They took the time to design them correctly IMO. I will also say this, for some reason, stock stuff is typically awesome quality, and are ten times better than aftermarket products. They spend thousands and thousands on design and development. The stock LEDs on the limited and the platinum are superb brightness, but most of us don't want to spend several thousand dollars to upgrade the lenses to those. So we choose to do the best with what we have. I am still considering going to his, but am happy right now with the Hikari's.
Mike been watching this video of yours for some time...decided its time to upgrade to LEDs...any updates on your bulbs? Still working good? any flickering ? Do you see a big difference in coverage area with low and high beam? doing a vacation and want some better LEDs
Dang, sorry about responding back so late. We didn't noticed till some months after, but there is a slight flicker every once in a while. Not big enough to really worry about, so leaving them alone for now. I put the same brand bulbs in my 2019 F150 till I get new headlight lenses.
Hi ... I have replaced the lighting in my car expedition XLT 2019 with LED lighting but from another brand ... But I had a strange problem: After continuing the work of lighting for 25 - 30 minutes turn off the left part only! Once you turn off and turn on the lighting again continue to work for another half an hour and then turn off and so constantly ...! I change of lenses (right to left - and left to right) and the left side is still off after half an hour !!! Is there anyone faced the same problem?
If you are switching the bulb from side to side and the problem continues on the same side, something is wrong with the vehicle at that point. If something is wrong with the bulb, it would follow the bulb. I'd take the vehicle back to the dealer and have them look at it.
@@alikhalid3509 What is the outside temperature of the area you are in when the led turns off? It's possible that the turbo or engine heat makes the car a little warmer on one side and if the ambient temperature is too hot, the extra heat from something inside the engine bay is enough to shut the led down with the thermal protection.
The lights are labelled wrong in the owners manual. I think alot of websites go off the manual and that makes it confusing. Just look on your lense, it will tell you the number.
Have you noticed an flicker from the low beams? I got the same exact ones for my '19 Expy and the driver side has a slight flicker. I ordered a replacement and same thing. Do you have the resistors as well?
Hey Hey yeah I saw those and contacted Hikari regarding the problem. They ended up sending me a set for free. But I’m still wondering why only one side flickers and not the other.
I noticed you put the resistors inside the headlight and covered it with the dust cover. Now will the resistor burn the cables inside after a while? Just asking because I'm doing the same thing on mine.
I just picked up a new 2019 F150 with the same bulbs. Luckily for the F150, they have quite a few aftermarket lenses available. On the Expys lights, still going strong. Switchback are still working. LEDs are staying bright.
Yes, they are the same. If you look on the headlight lenses itself, they actually stamped the bulb numbers in it. Low is an HB3, high is H9, and Fogs are H8.
They have worked great so far. I will be doing the fog lights and possibly the switchback turn signals the weekend after next. The Expy is going in for some warranty work today for a paint issue on the door, so won't get it back till early next week. I will have videos up next week, at least of the fogs.
@@graemkubin2343 it will definitely be an upgrade on those halogens. I am about to do a video for the led switchbacks. I didn't order the fog lights yet because we weren't expecting to get the vehicle back yet.
@@mikem1982 just put them in, pretty easy. I am concerned, however, with how hot they get and the wire off that resister box sitting in close proximity. Guess we will find out. Now FOR SURE the fog lights need to be done.

All you have to do is adjust till the dark spot is at its smallest(you will see it). You just turn the heat sink. Hope this helps.

Fog lights are great. Never had an issue with them not turning on.

If you are switching the bulb from side to side and the problem continues on the same side, something is wrong with the vehicle at that point. If something is wrong with the bulb, it would follow the bulb. I'd take the vehicle back to the dealer and have them look at it.

How’d you do it w over heating since you covered w the cover…how was the distance at night
They never shut down from overheating, but I eventually changed them out to Hids. I recommend Hids over LEDs hands down!

I did not do the brake lights. I did do the reverse lights, I will have to check what model they were again. They are super bright when backing up.

anon you need the adapter that Hikari sells, it should solve your issues.

Sorry about the late response, no problems yet with hot wires. We are also in Texas, and the extra heat hasn't caused any issues.
I installed them on mine but they never turned on. Would you know why they didn’t work?
Did you try swapping the connector around. Has to be positive and negative to the correct terminals.
