As for Invader Zim, I remeber reading somewhere + watching a video explaining that Nickelodeon wanted Johnen Vasquez to tone down the creepiness/weirdness a bit ; for it to appeal to a larger audience and to avoid complaint letters from parents or negative reviews. They were trying to avoid drama from annoying watchdogs who deemed the show inappropriate for children. Vasquez and his team accepted begrudgingly up to a certain point but then refused to go any further as to not go against the essence of the show. Especially since the show did relatively well and had garnered a Fandom. It was Nick who discontinued Invader Zim even though some new episodes were still in production after the final season (you can even find some on YT)
Gargoyles angry beavers courage the cowardly dog and invader Zim loved all of those shows!❤❤❤❤
