Walkthrough of the Natural History Museum in London 4k
The museum is home to life and earth science specimens comprising some 80 million items within five main collections: botany, entomology, mineralogy, paleontology and zoology. The museum is a centre of research specialising in taxonomy, identification and conservation. Given the age of the institution, many of the collections have great historical as well as scientific value, such as specimens collected by Charles Darwin. The museum is particularly famous for its exhibition of dinosaur skeletons and ornate architecture-sometimes dubbed a cathedral of nature-both exemplified by the large Diplodocus cast that dominated the vaulted central hall before it was replaced in 2017 with the skeleton of a blue whale hanging from the ceiling. The Natural History Museum Library contains extensive books, journals, manuscripts, and artwork collections linked to the work and research of the scientific departments; access to the library is by appointment only. The museum is recognised as the pre-eminent centre of natural history and research of related fields in the world.

Beautiful!
I first went with my school in 1973 (and many more times over the years). The museum has changed a lot, but some of the animals etc are the same.

I have last been to the museum when I was a small child between 2004 and 2011, and it was mind blowing back for me. I am still happy to see it all again. Thank you

I just came back from there, it does an excellent job of making visitors feel quite comfortable. Also, they’re always looking for ways to improve and the staff are especially kind.
Absolutely stunning, a dream of mine to visit

No masks. Beautiful times 😅
:)
Masks were worn by doctors, workers, and fire fighters since 20th century
@blitzkrieg so what?
I went on the 18th November this year (2021) Very few masks.

Wow my favourite museum in London
I’m an American and I remember being astonished that the human biology section had a diagram explaining sexual intercourse. It goes to show how different we are culturally when it comes to those conversations.
That’s interesting, I know american tv shows are heavily censored aswell
@@ljc606 not ready they say do all types of stuff now smh lol
Yeah I’ve heard Americans sex Ed is reallllllly bad like along with America being more religious
I'm quite surprised by that. As a Brit, I imagined Americans would be more open about such things.
It seems the Puritans left quite a mark on the US.
I was there last year and its beautiful , enormous museum..Thanks for sharing.. New friend here and just subbed 9.64k and 31 liked.. stay connected .. Have a good day❤️
Thank you ever so much for the Natural History Museum tour in London, I've never been to Europe but hoping one day to visit London perhaps when this CV thing dies down. Stay Blessed and Safe! Wash DC 😊

Thanks so much. I'd never have the opportunity to go to London. I live in a town of 400 people and I personally couldn't handle the crowds to these places but it was nice for you to do it for us. Great job
Which town!?

Darwin day👴🐢🐵🐦🐌🐚🐛🌿
I loved all the stuff animals on the wall display.
That was rubbish
Amazing to watch how people nowadays walk around like complete idiots with their phones recording everything instead of enjoying the experience and allowing theirs brains to do the recording. Soon this museum will have a section of HUMAN DEVOLUTION
Ok boomer
Hello i want ask of it suitable for wheelchair persons?as a old people…
For the most part, yes. They have lifts throughout so most areas are wheelchair accessible, and I think most of the exhibits are at wheelchair height. It can get a bit crowded in places, so might be a struggle to get through with a wheelchair, but should be more than enough to make it worthwhile!
I was there aged 6, in 1984... There was 1/2 as many people at the museum. and the world population is doubling every 40 years:) Perhaps it be like a tube carriage in 2060.
Hear me out…..can we apply the “inside library voice” to all museums please 🙏🏻
Some days before I went in the museum I saw a seagull eating a pigeon in the entrance to the earth exhibit
Does the MTA New York City Subway go to London?

Wow! I read somewhere that dinosaurs became extinct because they were not stroked. I hope that men will not repeat the same mistake with women.
Plz further explain.
A very nice video....well filmed and good coverage.....I feel like I have been there A++
It's a shame about the audio vanishing about 2/3 of the way or so, but I enjoyed it. Thank you. I noticed a few changes since I was last there. I'm not sure where the big sauropod in the main hall has gone, which I think was a Diplodocus (?). My guess is a periodical service or its on loan to another museum somewhere in the world?

Thank the pandemic, brexit, and my low student's income. I have always wanted to visit this museum, but now I get anxious by barely watching the video with all this crowd of people
🐑
I feel you man, I get anxious about going to public places too, but as someone who's been to this museum a few times there's a lot to see there to get your mind off the anxiety, in fact there's so much stuff there that i find new things every time i go
Great video 👍
Is there any colonial history is there?
