Arrested in ann arbor protest According to the search results, one person was arrested on Friday, May 3, after protesters clashed with police outside the University of Michigan Museum of Art. The person, who is not affiliated with the university, is the first to be arrested since pro-Palestinian protesters set up an encampment nearly two weeks ago at the University of Michigan Diag to demand the school divest from Israel. The arrest occurred during a demonstration that involved multiple law enforcement agencies, including the University of Michigan Police Department, UM Division of Public Safety and Security, Ann Arbor Police, Michigan State Police, and the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office. The protesters were demanding the university divest from Israel, citing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas. It’s worth noting that the University of Michigan has a policy that any demonstration or protest on university property that interferes with the function of the institution or involves violence, property damage, or other unlawful behavior is considered unlawful.
Law enforcement confirmed to Local 4 that four people were arrested Tuesday, May 21 as authorities pushed protesting students out of the Diag, a space at the center of the Ann Arbor campus. Neither the sheriff’s office nor the campus police were willing to provide any additional information about who was arrested or why.
They don't realize that ilthese profitable endowments literally pay gor their scholarships. All these poor foreign students can go to another country for college.
Kids: "I'm mad at my school so I'm going to protest and cause problems on my campus!" Normal students would transfer to another school . . . But naw, keep paying money for the school. You're just a number, not a name.
@@brooke8567 It makes sense to protest here if you don't want the American government to be sending Isreal weapons that they'll use to slaughter innocent people, including thousands of children. If the assholes are going to do that sort of thing, they can do it without our economic and military support.
