@Jeeses99 Awful? You haven't seen awful until you've gotten Incineroar below the stage. In all seriousness, Chrom's recovery isn't **bad,** just not the best. It's completely blown out of proportion IMO and his lack of horizontal recovery is almost made up for by his air speed. It balances out him generally having more consistent and better attacks than Roy.
Roy's up air juggle game is looking pretty hefty honestly. I just wish j could see players try to incorporate neutral b at the ledge more for ledge traps.
I think Skyloft, or any stage where you can go through the bottom for recovery should be allowed as it gives characters with good recoveries too many options.
Can someone please tell me how Roy did 1/2 Nair in mid-air? I am so confused? If you press Nair shouldn't it be 2 slices not one, so how did he do that?
I mained Roy in Smash 4. I had a feeling he'd be good eventually. (also I thought he was way better than low mid tier in 4 but it's still better than his placement in Melee). I thought he was fun in 4 and I preferred him over Marth (always fit my playstyle more). So seeing him actually be top tier now makes me more than happy. He really deserves it.
How do competitive players move so fast? When I play I'm running at a moderate pace and floating pretty steadily through the sky. Yet whenever I see a competitive match, people are zipping around at damn near the speed of light. Maybe it's a dodging thing, which I still don't know how to do consistently. Always end up shielding instead of dodging...
@@theannoyingotaku8113 Hold down to come down faster from air and double tap the move analogue stick to right or left to dash instead, although I personally like to play with high sensitivity.
Is there something wrong with rage? It makes it more interesting how there's pressure even after respawing. Although it was significantly nerfed from Smash 4
@@darthdistortion1934 It's not as bad, fortunately, but I don't think losing in percentage should give someone an advantage in kill power. There are better ways to help other weaknesses in certain types of characters like heavies than rage.
@@darthdistortion1934 rage is also the reason even after bayonetta got nerfed she could 0 to death you after a witchtime. I dont think players should be punished for doing damage. The reason rage works in tekken but not smash is because after you die in tekken, everything resets to a new round. In smash, someone can have rage and 3 stock you.
I was also thinking the same thing. He went for so many unsafe moves with young link and it was bugging me. Especially the constant up b’s and random fsmashes.

Nice to see footage of my boy Roy. My main from sm4sh and he’s unbelievably good in this game. Well deserved and a welcome change

I play Roy very often, the animation just cuts short if you nair too close to the ground

Do you play on a TV or monitor with fast response time? I always thought I played slow until I changed to a monitor.
@@TheFluffySpaz I use handheld mode. My joycons are delayed / occasionally unresponsive when playing TV.
