I took the cardboard divider from my 5 subjects notebooks and placed inside my shirt pushing the ribbon rows into the divider before securing with the tabs. This would keep my shirt flat and ribbons even flat and visible. Especially once you get above 6-7 rows.
Just a note that you cannot wear both a medal and a ribbon if they have the same meaning, ex. The superior cadet award
