- I have been playing through Dark Souls 3 for my first time and have finally reached some of the best bosses in the game! (I know it's not slave knight Gael yet but we'll get there). Dark Souls 3 Has been an incredible experience to play through for my first time and it is quickly becoming my favorite Dark Souls out of the three. I have been playing through every souls-like game by From soft for the first time. Elden Ring, Sekiro, Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne, and now Dark Souls 3.

Oh lord, so many nightmares from fighting the camera in the first phase of the Nameless King fight
Bro i dont know what everyone is on about the camera in the first phase, like the "true boss is the camera" for me it was no problem and it shouldn be for all of you too.

But I also play unlocked and only lock on when I'm casting, which is almost never
I swear to god if a casting build starts complaining about people finding a boss difficult im gonna end myself
I love how I got some confidence back by seeing Spicy struggle a bit on Gundyr, as opposed to seemingly first or second trying it like most of the other bosses, only to rip it all away again by 2-trying freaking Nameless King LMAO
And to do it in a fat suit even!
It takes me two attempts for Gundyr, sometimes three. I did oceiros once first try and under leveled.
I genuinely applaud the Nameless King performance. Well frickin' done!

i thknk we are talking about first playthrough's ^^ after you learn them, its easier
Gundyr took me more attempts than Nameless king on my first playthrough mainly because I was using ultra greatsword and gundyr is super aggressive with very small openings so slower build like me struggled a lot
The overwhelming consensus is ds3 has the best bosses fromsoft ever made, and i agree
I'd have to agree as well. They're so fun to fight

The fact he struggled against Gundyr with his actual build, but beat Nameless with a Fat build in only 2 tries is hilarious
Holy fuck, beating nameless king in 2 tries with joke equipment is impressive as fuck!
Nameless king is so far the first boss in the souls universe where I gave up and called a friend to help me, it was so bad.
DS3 had phenomenal boss design. Even though it's probably my 4th favorite FromSoft game, it is my second most played, and that's honestly because of the more linear level design and half-speedrunning the game just to fight all the bosses. It was very easy to boot up a new character and go from boss fight to boss fight while only looting the bare essentials more than a game like Bloodborne or ER. I think I've honestly done like 15 playthroughs of the game lol.

Back when I played the Nameless King's reputation was such that I was convinced I was going to have a hell of a time on him, to the point that I put him off until I'd already done most of the Ringed City DLC. When I finally got around to him I had a dark build and found a shield with 100% physical and 87% lightning absorption. I 2-hit phase one with Great Soul Dregs, and 3-hit phase two, easily shield-tanking even his random lightning strike.
It went so well that I actually used that right to farm all of my Sunlight Medals for Great Sunlight Spear, lol.

@@NothingAudio Honestly I don't remember, but it wouldn't have mattered much even if I had been more than 50 levels lower than I was, since I was fighting him exclusively with dark magic but had 40 in both Str and Dex. Having a fully upgraded Dark staff, 40 Int/50 Fai and the Dark Mask plus a couple rings was all it took. Could've easily done it at level 100.

Forgot how goofy Oceiros looks without the baby (Ocelotte) in his arm. It's technically there just invisible. It just makes him look handicapped for half the fight.

Consider Convergence Mod for DS3. Adds a lot of craziness to the game.

It was very fun. I went from not really wanting to replay DS3 to replaying it about 6 times in a row on that mod.
Unfortunately that recent ds3 update broke it for me. I can't enter firelink shrine without it crashing. That's a way to fix that but it still crashes for me. Guess it's back to vanilla
@iHaveTheDocuments Huh, that sucks. I don't have it set to auto-update for me, so apparently I'm on an old version which still works. Hopefully they'll sort those problems out.
@iHaveTheDocuments You can downpatch DS3 relatively easily, there are multiple guides on how to do it on TH-cam and on soulsspeedruns, you'll just have to play offline. I'd post a link to a tutorial but TH-cam doesn't like that. The Convergence team is also still active in the Souls modding scene so there's a solid chance they'll update the mod eventually, they're still working on the Elden Ring version of the mod so it might just take them a little while.
Champion Gundyr is one of the most aggressive bosses IMO.
The kick punished me so hard that my character still has boot marks all over his face from that fight.

For me Midir all the way, a true dragon fight, and surviving feels like a choreography.
