TH-cam suggested me this video and I watched it. So, I am sharing my personal experience as a journalist having around 10 years of experience. I joined the journalism industry in January 2012, when I was in my first year of Bachelor of Mass Media (BMM). I joined Mumbai based newspaper as an intern and the company used to provide me Rs 2,500 per month as a stipend for the first three months. Following my good performance, the company decided to offer me a full-time job and gave salary of Rs 7,500 per month. Till 2014, I worked with the company and as soon as I completed my graduation, I left it to join a national news organization as a sub-editor. I was part of the digital media team, I was offered there Rs 15,000 per month and after six months, the company revised my salary to Rs 25,000 per month. Till 2018, I worked with them, but my salary was almost stagnant (Due to company financial crisis and legal issues), so I left it and joined India's biggest news organization, I was offered there 50,000 Rs per month. Later on, for a short period, I took a break from the media industry and started working with a corporate house, I was offered a low standard salary there, and I was not satisfied with the work, so I made a decision to quit the organization. After a short gap, I joined one digital news startup for a higher editorial position and was getting around 65,000 Rs per month. I am still working with them and almost, after three years, I am making around a lakh per month. Note: I joined the industry when I was 17-year-old and today I am 27. (My journey started from 2,500 Rs and today it is around 1,00,000 Rs after 10 years). I hope students who are planning to get into the media field will find this helpful. One more point I want to add, jobs are very limited. And only if you are willing to join the digital media (New media), then only come to this field. Because competition is very high. And becoming a part of electronic or print media I think it is not a good option, because most of them are in losses, and it might affect your financial prospects.

As industry is more getting into digital, then I believe must have good understanding of digital media. Having good writing and communication skills is an added advantage. More important get accustomed with the latest digital media tools in order to be highly skilled journalist and different from others in industry. Always remember information is power, the more information you have, the more powerful you are. (Understand SEO, SEO content writing, social media, various digital media tools - because if you work in digal wing of any media houses then it is definitely must.)
@sports news Hi, sports me jaana best option hai lekin samay ke anusar apne aap ko prepare kijiye. Sports is all about data and understanding the game, so I suggest you to have some course related to data analytics then you will have an added advantage because along with sports journalism you will also have knowledge of data analytics. There are many big sports companies across the world who pay very good salary. I presume if you join some prestigious company with a knowledge of sports journalism plus data analytics then you will get somewhere around 28 to 45K/month. And further depending upon your talent you will ace in the industry.
