I was expecting a remake of the original game with modern graphics but it retains the then-future 2004 setting. Perhaps bringing back the Russian levels like the nuclear power plant, for example. I didn’t expect that Ubisoft would try to remake this for “modern audiences”. But then again, this is a triple A studio we’re talking about.
from what i understood thats what they are doing arnt they? unless i got the wrong idea. I thought it was a remake while keeping the then 2004 setting but adding more story depth and character development. By modern audience I thought they meant "up to standard" of what is expected of a modern AAA game regarding all the parts that come with it like graphics, acting and all the rest of it.
I hope they have the guts to slow Splinter Cell back down like the original games. I loved Blacklist and it's movement/takedown animations were unreal, but it was just too easy to take people down. I'd love to go back to mechanics that feel weighty and make you think twice before sprinting up to some dude and clotheslining him before he can cry for help.
i feel the same way! each enemy needs to hold more of a threat like the old games. Takedowns need to be something you really work for or even a last resort!
@@CLIKRAD I fear the biggest barrier to this is that “play however you want” is a bit of an unshakable design philosophy at the minute. The people holding the money seem to want every game to appeal to everyone, not realising that diluted gameplay isn’t really the key to doing that!

My biggest concern that they will call it "remake" but potentially it will be a "remaster" like Crysis was. Barely any visuals upgrades from the original and they even took the VTOL mission in that. If Splinter Cell Remake will truly be what we love about Blacklist and put it into the first game, it potentially could be the best Splinter Cell game ever made and the best Ubisoft game in a long time.
I don’t mind if they bring in another voice actor besides Ironside because I understand that he is in his 70s. But, they need to find a way to transition the character of Sam Fisher out. Have someone new be the playable character and have Sam Fisher in Lambert’s position or something similar to that. Don’t just ignore the authentic character and replace the voice actor.
I would of like to see that version of a new splinter cell game over a remake but im just glad we have got something splinter cell in the works. Hopefully if the remake does well they will look at transitioning into a new character, like you said Ironside wont be around forever unfortunately.
Its so stupid to shut down Blacklist multiplayer. Me and my daughter launched Blacklist to enjoy multiplayer missions but was soon very very irritaded when we found out it had gone offline.
They shouldn’t remake Sam Fisher Just move on with Archer and Kestrel a prequel since they both died ! Sam should’ve stayed retired and SC Blacklist shouldn’t have happened
They’re gonna a bastardized Splinter Cell for an audience they hate with little to no story, hamfist in their politics with no artistic direction and just make it annoying and preachy

don't hope. expect garbage
THEN you WON'T be disappointed
Was that confirmed? I never trust game "leaks". Just look at all the "leaks" on RE4 Remake that turned out false

Exactly. Expect garbage, don't be surprised when it is no let down. If it's good, you'll be blown away. Best of both worlds.
Sam Fisher in a Santa suit.
This day and age, they will prolly make Sam fisher wear antifa drag LOL, with a BLM shirt
I need to know what happened to kestrel at the end of blacklist co-op bro
ahhh i wonder how they will approach co op with the remake. Id really like some more splinter cell co op tho thats not a bad shout!
Blacklist was SC1 and SC:Chaos Theory on steroids.
I loved parts of blacklist for what it did well! What main features from blacklist would you want to see incorporated into the remake?
