Thanks Ray; very good info. I remember when I was a kid we lost a heat exchanger on our gas heating system. The repairman explained that it was due to condensation of flue gases because the heat was run for too short cycles to reach operating temperatures. My mom was concerned about heating costs and was always turning the heat off when she heard it running. You got that right about the soot! I get that from working on diesel generator engines, and it is a mess!
You got that right about the difficulty in removing soot from your skin. Many years ago I serviced oil field boilers which were mainly all oil fired high pressure steam scotch marine boilers. These portable boilers were frequently used at different elevations plus suffered from poor maintenance resulting in sooting. After cleaning, you then faced the often times long drive home covered in soot. You scrubbed the best you could but still exited the shower looking like a raccoon due to the soot still under your eyes. The wives cold cream that she used to remove mascara was about the only thing that worked in a timely fashion.
I saw your TH-cam channel. Your videos are very nice. But due to some problem in your channel, your video view and channel subscribers are not getting. May I explain in more detail if you allow?
