“Western modernisation was fraught with crimes such as war, the slave trade, colonisation & plunder, which inflicted untold misery on many countries. Having long suffered from aggression, bullying & humiliation by Western powers, we Chinese are keenly aware of the value of peace & will never follow the well-worn path of the West. The biggest problem with Western modernisation is that it is capital centred rather than people centred & seeks to maximise capital gains rather than serve the interests of the vast majority of people.” Xi Jinping

I try to explain, fruitlessly, to people in the U.S. that Capitalism, the muh freedom" ideology is a system predicated on the rich making their riches off the backs of the population and putting up impenetrable economic roadblocks so that the middle class and poor will never be able to rise out of mediocrity.
Corporations are in business for one reason.....to make shareholders rich. So they cut corners as much as possible in producing food, products, that are inferior......because the only motive for being in business is profit.
Most of their population fails to realize that a shareholder private company (The Federal Reserve) is running the government.
Lack of superior educational opportunities, ignorance, unbridled arrogance and complacency has brought them to their knees. Will they wake up? Doubtful.

The biggest difference between the western countries and China is not their different political systems but rather their different economic models that they use in order to live and to prosper.
In order to live and to prosper, China relies on the hard work, ingenuity and dedication of its people, and on trade and peaceful cooperation with other countries. In the process, China helps other countries to prosper also.
In order to live and to prosper, the western countries, for their part, relies on stealing the wealth of the non-western countries, using brute force (military power) and other devious means such as lies, cheats, blackmails, sanctions, etc., to carry out their robberies. The western countries have been using this model for the past 500 years during which they have stolen the equivalent of thousands of trillions of dollars worth of wealth from the non-western countries. In the process, they impoverished all the non-western countries and murdered over one billion people in the non-western countries.

@cedardrive4599, Everything you said is 100% spot on! Truer words were never spoken! You perfectly described how the US, UK, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, and other western countries got rich and powerful! They have not only been robbing non-white countries for 500 years they have been doing it for 650 years starting as early as the beginning of the 1400’s and the Romans have been doing it about 500 years before that!

This was so beautiful it made me cry.
This morning reading thru comments on a U.S. channel there was repeated over and over, Americans saying AI will take away people's jobs so horrendous tariffs should be put on China so that jobs will return to the U.S.
I made the comment "are they happy to remain in the world of hammers and nails" 😂 and did it occur to them that the world should not stagnate, but move forward consistently. I ventured a solution. Always seek higher skills and education.
AI for instance, will create just as many jobs......production, maintenance, sales, etc.
I am reminded by their recent dock workers strike where a key point of the Union demands was to eliminate all technology use in the ports.
Such a Neanderthal mindset will further their collapse more quickly.
Apparently the overall current ideology in the U.S. is to isolate their nation and return to the world of hammers and nails.
    So be it.

Plans lead ot actions, building, direction, arrival ...with no plan you never go, build, or arrive...aimless wandering In a casino as a rube, to be used...and loose everything...is no plan at all.

Thanks Jingjing. Weiwei theorizes well. But this must stand the test of times going forward. 40 some years are not enough. While Civilizational arguments do not hold much water.
China’s famous diplomat was asked once what he thought of the French Revolution, and he answered “it was too early to tell”
We all pray China will keep up the great works till such time that it becomes self evident. Worldwide. Amen 🙏

Why dismiss the Civilizational arguments out of hand? How much do you really understand this argument? If you don't know much about this argument, but chose to dismiss it outright, you should take your own advice; “it was too early to tell”

No one is praying or waiting for the second coming of Jesus here, especially not the Chinese. They're busy working things out in the real world.

@@WalkingSidewaysno pun intended but "amen". 😂. For the life of me I have never been able to understand why the West passes by the common sense ideology which everyone can learn and use (Confucianism, Daoism, etc) for an invisible sky daddy no one can prove exists, and his half breed son. I mean their whole skit is they are just waiting around to die so they can go to heaven?
Which is why we Chinese are successful.....we just here doing the work. ❤
