Ah!!! This is so sweet, what a great relationship you have with your father!! I teared up a little! 😢 I'm sad this series is over but I hope you decide to Vlog your future travels and it would be cool to see you hike with your dad!! Take care!
Girl you really should just keep going with tip & tricks videos. You are very camera friendly and enjoyable to watch. Thank you for sharing you experience with us. If you do a female only video, I would like to know how you dealt with the crimson tide while on trail.
Thanks so much for making a woman specific PCT series im planning on solo hiking the PCT in 2018 and im always searching for more information on the subject but its so hard to find videos from a woman's prospective :) thanks again!
I enjoyed watching all the videos in your series. Very well broken down and explained. I'm older so some of the female issues don't apply to me, but I'm sure there's women out there who would like to hear more on how to deal with safety issues, period issues, and connecting with other women on the trail. I live in Minnesota and would love to hike the 310-mile Superior Hiking Trail, and also the John Muir Trail in California. Like you said, if I want to do it, I need to commit and start planning. Thanks for the great videos. Best of luck to you and your Dad on the Continental Divide Trail!
Great video, your dad is awesome! Having that kind of support from home is fundamentally essential for the hiker. Your very lucky to have such a great dad and I know from your other videos that he holds a big piece of your heart...hard to hide that. Can't wait for the CDT series! Enjoy life, Ingrid, while you're young...I started later and wished I would have started in my early 20's. Now I see things from your dad's point of view (I'm 43), ☺. Take care and keep it up!
Ingrid, my son completed the PCT in 2016, started in and ended October, he actually completed over two weeks ahead of scheduel. I am so proud of him. Being a mother I was out of my mind with worry especially when he had to go through the desert, but he was pretty good about posting on instagram and calling me when he could, after a while I calmed down, but then I started worrying about bears, you know mothers are crazy. He just told me he i planning CDT now. Ugh! His name was Clean Sweep because he picked all the garbage he found everyday. He just put up a youtube video PCT Trash Trail you should check it out. He said the youngest person he met was 17 and the oldest was 78 year old lady, and she did portions of the trail every year. He said he hike with her a bit. He was able to get up to 40 miles a day sometimes. Anyway, good job on an adventure you will never forget. You are an inspiration to other women.
Thank you so much for making this series!! It's been wonderful as a 17 year old who dreams of hiking the PCT someday. These videos have been so well done, informative and inspiring. Keep us updated on all of your new adventures!
Your dad is so cool and you have inspired me to thru hike the PCT. I have a 6 year old son and I have already talked to him about the idea of a long hike together once he is older and big enough to carry a pack by himself. Did you meet a lot of sectional hikers? That is most likely how we would have to complete the hike.
Hello Ingrid, thank you for sharing another fine video. Your Dad certainly sounds like a fine loving Father. Both of you should be happy and proud to be in the same family. I have appreciated your videos. This video touched my heart. Your Dad was correct regarding his observations of you. He was correct that you would use good judgment while on the PCT. All the best to you and your family. Stay healthy. 🤗
Wow. I wish I'd have thought of section-hiking a year ago instead of this year, because then I might have found your great PCT videos then while you were still making them. Thanks for 'em all. I'll definitely recall them from time to time when I'm solo-hiking Section A or Section B in late May of this year.
Ive been binge watching these over the past few days- really a big help, very well done. Looking toward a 2018 hike :) as a solo female who has a lot of sort of okay gear...
I've been watching your videos. They're very informative. I would like do this hike next or the following year. I think I know your dad. He looks so familiar. Good luck with your future ones.
You are adorable together. As a father of a 16yo daughter I am so delighted to meet your father. My daughter and I love to hike together, and I especially appreciate your video on "feminine issues." I would so love to do one of these long hikes someday with her. BTW, how old were you when you did this?
One more question would be how did you stay so clean on the PCT? One way to do it is to take about 5 baby wipes per day and use those to clean yourself just before you went to bed each night. To save weight, you could even dry out the baby wipes before a trip and add water to re-hydrate them before you use them. Whatever method you used must have worked because you had so many people compliment you on your cleanliness.....
6:36 When Ingrid new she was a little brat and was in big trouble lol..... her face says it all. Very funny and a great video and obviously a great relationship.....thanks for sharing :))
Very good videos Ingrid!! I would like to hike the PCT within the next couple of years. But what about work, medical insurance etc? I would have to quit my job.
Love your videos!!! I do wish I could do it. But being obese make it impossible at my current state. But I have started hiking and plan to hike 147 miles of the pct this September with my dad. Washington section h - you inspire me! Thank you
I too am a larger person and want to do the entire trail. I am doing a small section this summer in Oregon actually we leave next Sunday, it a section that many can do in 1-3 days but because I am slower and want to enjoy my experience we have planned for 6 days to make sure we are notrushing . I say you can do anything if you really want to. I am considering trying my hands at the thru hike within the next 2-3 yrs and will be working towards that goal. Have fun on your section hike.
+Brandy Overhauled amazing!! Would you like to email? Mine is mrselizabethadams@gmail.com and I'd love to hike and backpack with you. Are you going with anyone next Sunday?
I actually am my daughter is going with me. Mother daughter bonding week. But yeah we should connect up and do so hike together. I will email you in the next few days and we can chat.
Are you going to do the CDT? I live in Colorado and that trail is not maintained and there are many miles where there are no trail markers and you have to make gut decisions where the trail is....even GPS is not accurate.
+Robin S yes, I do! It is the least marked trail because it hasn't been completed yet. I'll definitely have to freshen up on my Nav skills! Thank you for the info!
Hello, I want to tell you two things, first congratulation for do it twice the pct!! Second, I have a question I'm from Argentina and I want to travel to Usa for trekking the pct but only have a visa for three months, so my question is what part do you recommend to do for this short time, and probably I have to travel in December-jenuary-February, and I don't have experience in snow.. If you don't know, can you recommend a website where I can find my answer?
+casarolio December, January, and February are the toughest months weather-wise to do this hike. If you have no snow experienced, I'm not sure I would advise a PCT section hike. The elevation gain is high in most areas, so there will be snow. Maybe visit the pcta website for more info! Good luck to you!
I think the ladies would want to know about overall hygiene!! I was one of the first female wildland firefighters for the State of California and I would go days without a shower or change of clothes (add smoke to that) LOL! It was rough not being able to wash my hair for days on end! What was the longest time you spent on the trail in between town stops?
I usually just think it's because I didn't roll around in the dirt like other people. I also didn't wear khaki or white colored clothing that tended to show stains and stuff. haha
PERFECT! THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME TAG ALONG WITH YOU ! I WATCHED THE LADIES VIDEO YOU DID . I THINK IT WOULD HELP THE GENTLEMAN UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCES THE LADIES HAVE TO GO THROUGH TOO! GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS! ENJOYED! YES I GOT TO MAKE TIME !
I love your Dad hes adorable! Yes please do a girly video on what you used and how you packed out tampons etc if you used them... Also, did you shave your legs, underarms etc when in town?
Great channel my daughter and I are going to be hiking the Pacific crest Trail this year and we were wondering if you would like to follow us on our great adventure
I am posting on my husbands page as I don't have one. I found your video very interesting and would love to see a women's only video. How did you stay so clean you didn't look like a through hiker? How did you deal with menses? How did you select the vehicle when you were hitchhiking; did you have criteria for selecting your ride? As a solo female, did you ever feel threatened and if so how did you deal with it?
Ingrid- you have a great on-camera presence/personality. You're smart, literate, and HOT to watch. In short, the same formula for any female anchor on TV. So.....produce more content!
Your dad is AWESOME! You can tell he is sooo proud of you! :)
Ah!!! This is so sweet, what a great relationship you have with your father!! I teared up a little! 😢 I'm sad this series is over but I hope you decide to Vlog your future travels and it would be cool to see you hike with your dad!! Take care!
I'll now make more travel vlog type videos! Thank you for watching :)

I agree 100%

I went to school in MN! Love it! JMT is a nice trail, also! :)
It's nice to see how supportive your dad is👍🏾👍🏾
I am very blessed! :)

Great job DAD, raising such a capable young person! Great job Ingrid! Your vids have added new content to my PCT research!

I hope you get the opportunity to do so! Some people do have to quit their job. Everyone's situation is different.

Ahh thank you for all that you do! Hair is the worst, it can get really itchy! I'm working on the female video now ! :)
How were you able to stay so clean, when everyone else has the look of a thruhiker?
I usually just think it's because I didn't roll around in the dirt like other people. I also didn't wear khaki or white colored clothing that tended to show stains and stuff. haha
No video of you on the pct during your hike?
+cowboysteel unfortunately no. I only carried my iPhone and as you can imagine, battery life and storage was always an issue.
what did your mom think of your journey on the pct?
Fun video and instructive. Why are you squeezing the lens cover (I think that's what it is) while your dad is speaking? Too funny!
I have no idea, haha.
I love your Dad hes adorable! Yes please do a girly video on what you used and how you packed out tampons etc if you used them... Also, did you shave your legs, underarms etc when in town?
He is :). Thanks for the Q's!
