My brother thought they were one dimensional too but I finally got him to watch the HBO doc How Can You Mend a Broken Heart (highly recommend) and he realized that they were much more than a disco group. Some songs I would recommend checking out are Massachusetts (68); it was their first UK # 1, I've Gotta Get a Message to You (68), Lonely Days (70), Run to Me (72), Mr. Natural (74), Fanny (Be Tender with my Love) (75), Don’t Fall in Love with Me (81), For Whom the Bell Tolls (93), and Alone (97). With them writing and producing over 1,000 songs, they had plenty to try to things on. Just for the fun of it, here's one of the earliest performances of theirs.
