Beauty is subjective, I think this ship is gorgeous. You don't need to be fast when whatever you're fighting is dead the moment it enters weapons range. It's only the broadside of a barn if you screw up, this ship is going to teach effective maneuvering in a fight far more effectively than most others would. It sure as hell isn't useless anymore.

This is why I'm subbed. I've watched 5 other reviews since 3.9 and literally NOBODY mentioned the missiles except you, while it's the Tana's main feature! Also for any new players, be aware that you can box up your personal inventory (i.e. mined ore) in a cargo box, allowing you to stay longer between trips to go sell ore, BUT you can ONLY do this if you have an actual cargo grid you can stand on. The 1SCU cargo grid may seem tiny, and it is for hauling cargo, but remember that it is a grid and you can stand on it. Thus, it's all you need to do FPS mining. This makes it unique among light fighter ships as the 325a, Arrow, Gladius, and most other light fighters have no cargo grid. Even the 325a's cargo area doesn't count as a grid. In short, the Tana is much more multipurpose than other fighters because of that measly little 1SCU grid.
@@polla2256 When doing fps mineables and putting rocks in your backpack you will eventually run out of space. However! You can box up everything in your inventory into a box like the delivery mission ones and put it on a cargo grid and sell it like you would when selling stuff out your backpack usally

Really good, comprehensive overview, with a high production quality :) Thank you particularly for confirming what size hardpoints (with/without gimbals) the wingtips can mount, as well as the 1SCU (not zero, like most of the websites say) of cargo.
From the front it looks like two B-Wings fused at the cockpit. But the Reliant was also copied AHEM I mean it was the inspiration for a lot of the Korvax ship designs in No Man's Sky.
This has now become my favourite ship. I CCU'd from a 325 to it and haven't looked back (I still have a 325 loaner that came with my 600 that I haven't been in since getting the Tana) The Gilroy gimbals are in a weird place at the moment. there is absolutely no reason to keep them as they are. Hopefully that means a change is coming for those soon (2 size 3's or one size 4 perhaps??) I run a full energy load out, in fact a full Neutron loadout with NN-14 Canons on the turrets And repeaters under the wings. This has allowed me to successfully (although not quickly) take out a Caterpillar. 20 Rattler II missiles just sweetens the deal. The only thing missing to my eye (apart from a few quality of life tweaks) is food prep. but that is missing across the entire Reliant line. I love the Tqna, Tana is good, Tana is life. (This from someone who has a Freelancer MIS and a 600 Explorer)
IIRC, Tana's "turrets" are actually high-articulation gimbals. Co-Pilot controls them like a pilot controls standard gimbals, with no remote camera. I think the Toshimas (the twin-gun ones found on the Kore) are real remote turrets with a remote camera. That's likely why you can't enter a remote camera on the Tana gimbals.
Can confirm, with the replace oof those two turrets the copilot can utilize the camera on the turret. I have replaced both turrets and put 2x 215s on each wing. You can choose which wing to view from, but still fire from both as the co pilot.

Just picked this ship up and I LOVE it! I've really struggled with ship combat in Star Citizen and this is the first ship I've flown that works for me.
I just purchased the Reliant Tana today, I've been eyeing that ship for a very long time. It's incredibility fun to fly, and can't wait to finish more missions to get more in-game money so I can make some needed improvements to it. Due to the changes in ballistics, I've opted for a full set of Attrition s.

I just took on a Hornet with a pilot and co-pilot in a dogfight. Shredded them in seconds with my full gatling load-out. Needs the prisoner holding cell instead of the scu though!
Just got this ship last night and I'm super happy with it. Let a buddy of mine fly it last night as well and now he wants one. Has that B-Wing feeling from Star Wars.

I was so close to get me a Reliant but then I decided to go with the Cutlass Black. Still, the Reliant is one of the most beautiful ships in the game. I just love to see how it changes flight modes. Greaty review, thank. I agree with your summation on the ship and hastily scribbled down your point on the turrets. That'll be my next upgrade. As someone that usually blats around in a 600i, the Tana is the first ship I've taken out and enjoyed dogfighting with NPCs. It's just fun to fly. I had a 325A a while back but didn't understand the mechanics of the game as well as I do now so a revisit to Origin could also be on the cards. Thanks for great content! Cheers
Great stuff dude! I got mine yesterday and dam its so hot! But i wonder that no one talks about bugs? So i was freakinly excited to jump in and then it has a bug where i cant enter the cockpit. Just prone works, but to get out with prone is horror.. Next thing is that i cant claim it anymore..
Great review, I think you covered everything nicely. I’ve always loved the reliant series and the Tana fits my play style best. I was dissatisfied with it when it was first released because it had no hp. Hopefully it is much better now.
Great review with matching video footage! While not perfect (Kore still needs a little more scu) CIG did pretty good buffing the Reliant series. It used to be a useless craft, now the advanced starter category has a few extra ships to consider. Personally i don't have much use for it but still got one for its quirkiness :)
IMPORTANT information: Reliant bug with beds. If you log out from bed, when you log back in, the ship is in flight configuration with the vertical wing so you can’t access the cockpit!!... (In 3.9 it will probably change but when?) So beds unusable! Didn’t know that before buying the Sen and it’s quite frustrating... But the ship is a joy to fly, incredible view, smooth... And the design is unique... Thank you @Subliminal for your videos always a pleasure to watch!
I loved this ship for it's middle payload, it was a great ship even before. I dropped it from my fleet for only one reason. If you loose a wing your total payload is halved and your ability to maneuver is shot. It's a good ship but I agree, needs big shields. Thanks for the great content and I look forward to your next one!
Just to start... I love your videos about ship loadouts and reviews on how they perform in game. So I have been playing a long time in SC, I wrote off the reliant as kind of a ugly duckling. I always kind of assumed "hey, if you like it there's nothing wrong with that... but its not for me" when you did this review you could not get it in game, but now you can and its not expensive. Soo I picked it up after a friend mentioned it being pretty solid and.... let me tell you. compared to a lot of ships the reliant tana almost feels overpowered. my loadout is close to yours but I swapped gatlings for the FL-22 guns. either 4 FL-22 with 2 FL-11 or just do all 6 FL-22 and have 2 of them fixed. either way seems solid. For PVE doing bounties this ship is a absolute beast. I can jump in and in 20-40min of gameplay I can make 200-400k if not more if I am skilled... and the star map doesn't slow me down. does it handle badly... sure but its only really bad when you compare it to a gladius or arrow. but their damage potential is laughably bad by comparison. I play using gimballed assist with a joystick, so if you have all guns set to gimbals the reliant tana blows nearly all other ships away. and if you toss in a all strike force 2 loadout for missiles it seriously starts making no sense why this has not been nerfed. I used to fly a hornet with fixed and gimballed loadouts... and I took more damage and died more often I used to fly a arrow with fixed setups, and its fun... dont get me wrong. but my time to kill is still hilariously good in the reliant. I used to fly the bucc which is cool cause I can land it in my carrack........... but having all the same gun does make the reliant a bit better. -> that said though I did have a hilarious session once where I damaged my bucc to the point where it was just a cockpit with the 2 s3 fixed guns and the 1s4. you only have maneuvering thrusters at this point.... but i still managed to jump around and kill HRT and VHRT bounties... which was silly. I love the looks of the sabre and the gladius... in the cool compeition they win every day of the week. but its real hard to argue with the output of the reliant tana... AND IT HAS BEDS and room for boxes... you can do box missions and bounties, and log out... all of this for only around 1mil aUEC to buy and outfit with top of the line stuff. like i said up top... I wrote this ship off... but wow was I wrong. I currently could fly, a vanguard sentinel, cutlass black, bucc, and a hornet... all of which are fully kitted out... but i still fly the reliant for PVE. LONG post I know but I thought you might find it interesting.

I think it's a wonderful fleet ship. A Tana supporting a pirate gank or escorting a trade ship seems like a great place for it. Also a decent mission runner. Finally, if you're bad at the game like me, that many missiles can carry you through dogfighting a bit, with the health pool to survive some oopsies.
Little mistake at 13:20. You said that if it has it's landing gear down. Thats wrong. You mean up. But again very nice review. I really like the Tana. Just changed my 325 to the Tana. I like the look of the ship. I like that is has bed, shower & toilet. It has a litte bit space for cargo and an easy to acess entry. (my 325 was sometimes bugged when i tried to enter) The Tana has a great view. And if upgraded it has an amazing firepower. (Outfitted mine with 6 laser repeaters) The ship has three major problems. One was mentioned, the problem with no chance to leave the seat as long as the landing gear is up. Next is a bugged bed. You can't use the log in function. Third is shield holes. It can loose the wings even with shields up. (and maybe the truster) Hope they will fix these issues soon. And it could have a litte bit more thruster power. Or be a bit more nimble. But even with the problems it's my favourite ship in SC. I really enjoy it.

Bought it and despite it's drawbacks I love it. Just need to fix that rear access problem when in verticle mode and that logout glitch when the ship goes verticle when you log back in. Fix that and the Tana and the Sen will be my main ships from now on.
This was once again a great video, but.... The only reason I would get a reliant (any) would be to have a newbie fly one. Oh and THANK YOU SO MUCH for pronouncing kore' THE RIGHT WAY! most people say "core" like the core of an apple. Lol keep up the great work dude! YOU ROCK!

@@scribblescrabble3185, really bad… First, we only have 4 fixed maneuvering thrusters. But looking how they are placed, this could be the same as saying that we only got 2 of them… Second, the ship doesn't have retro-thrusters. The deceleration is fully managed by the maneuvering thrusters. Third, the main thrusters can't swivel and only have 2 modes: VTOL or normal. Fourth, the thrusters are overheating from normal used… Fith, there is a bug on the yawn axis only when in Vertical mode, which don't translate on the pitch axis when in Horizontal mode. Making the vertical mode the worst for fighting.

This ship is my main at the moment! I will say though that both of the gimbaled weapons can be independently aimed / controlled by the co-pilot while the pilot flies, so it doesn't actually need remote turret access like on the Kore. It's not a bug ^-^
I plan this to be my light personal transport... With those weapons I can easily defend myself and with those amenities long travels will be so much easier.

If you want to use laser weapons instead (for making longer runs at bounty hunting), i will recommend the following build(also i am going to put it in order to buy them in order on the list): 1.Breton (Area18) 52k 2.2x Reliant wings 2xS2 (area18 dumpers depot) 7k each 3.2x Ultra flow (Levski) 27k each 4.4x NN-14 Neutrons (PO) 14,15k each 5.2x Tarantula GT-870 Mark 1(levski) 9,5k each 5.2x FR-66 (PO) 18,45k each 6.Drift (PO) 21k Missiles as you like or want.
I wanted the Sen as an intro level science ship.... that said, finding yourself fighting pirates is still an issue that will occur, this helped me understand how to equip my Sen so she can keep herself alive to collect the data she needs and get home safely.
My setup for the tana is very similar to yours, but I changed out the size 1 guns with fixed size 2 dominance scatterguns. It's slightly less good against small ships, but against anything cutlass size and up it's a big decrease to the ttk. It also means you can still keep on fighting even after running out of ammo and missiles.
This thing is a PVE beast now! I beat Pirate Swarm the other day with it. I used the Toshimas with Scorpions but put scatter guns under the wings. With a S314 missile rack and using S1 Arrow missiles you'll get 85k total missle damage. Those 22 missles firing off all at once at the Hammerhead was very satisfying. Also, great for cave mining because of the cargo grid.
@@Swatmat once target is selected tap the middle mouse button a bunch of times and locks will start stacking. Once all the locks are stacked hold the middle mouse button down and awaaaay they go.
The Tana makes a really nice fighter for a new player now. It's durable, can have good firepower, and with the space for a box or two, beds to logout in, I think it's finally in a good place. If they fix the rotation during quantum so you can get up and square away the co-pilot capabilities, this could be a really great starter fighter.
I was able to access the turrets from the co-pilot seat. I think you either had gimbals installed, or just had trouble finding the right place for the mouse courser. I also prefer the Atlas to the Voyage. It can make the trip from ARC L5 to microtech at 72 MKm, the longest trip currently in game. It only adds 5 seconds to the PO to Microtech jump over the Voyage.
Well if you get two toshimi turrets you get a gunner with x4 size 2 weapons I give them badger repeaters so the gunner does not have to worry about ammo and the view is 360 degrees pilot loses sight no problem gunner can see them and turn around no matter what the gunner still has sight it’s pretty crazy.
The reliant series is my favorite ships so far and I love the fact that they gave it some much needed love. But something that has always confused me is the way people talk about the maneuverability of the ship. I keep reading the ship handles like a brick. I have used the Kore a lot and now I have the Tana and when fighting i rarely get hit and constantly fly circles around my target whether a player or npc. I usually lose because of the sudden loss of power mid fight.....even with the best components i can find the ship always shuts down because of it 🤨 Its still my favorite though
Tracy Miller also turning rate.. when you get used to the reliants in combat it’s no longer an issue and very easy to overcome. I rarely have to hold fire because I’m off target with this thing as I’ve got used to it. Love my tana.
im more into the hardknockers and go with the S4 C-788 Autocannons, shooting full metal bullets 730 dmg into others feels like a human tank version of the glaive it also gives some superior range compared to a lot of others given their max of s3´s. also given its long range, hard hitting option i feel like you can compare it equally to a Ares Ion, making it on par with a 2 times costly ship with the addition of beds, scu,... but alsooo help out by shooting rockets at chasers of your buddies, i see it more as a defencetower, a gun and rocket supporter in a little group of ships rather than a real brawler/hunter, with that perspective it can really shine beyond what we compare it to.
On the copilot seat, there is 3 bugs: - the copilot can't enter in the remote turrets - the copilot can't target a ship - the copilot can't give back the control to the pilot For the first 2, by switching to the Toshima turrets, they are fixed, and outside of the remote turrets, the copilot can use all aiming modes. But, I should still say that you shouldn't go in battle with the Reliant Tana: - Huge Cross section… - Really bad maneuverability… - Devastating to lose one wing… My recommendation for PvP: - Play missiles to keep others from closing - Use energy / ballistics canons for maximum range engagement (2km) For close range fighting, take repeaters, Over Power them (or even Over Clock), and don't let the other party circling you…
It's a ship you have to get use to. When you switch from vertical to VTOL it could strafe up like crazy, couple the strafe up with rotational manoeuvres, and be surprised how the 325A loose site while your landing hits. However, to be effective you have to constantly change from VTOL to vertical mode. The default missile are no go, the missile speed is very low compared to the rest in same size and category. I use a mixed load out of ballistics and energy repeaters, or in rare cases I go all size 2 scatters guns. With 6 x lasers scatters guns and using VTOL, I could bring down an Hammerhead. Because of the large cross section and inability to dodge fire as quickly as a smaller fighter, I use 2 x Palaside shields, or one Palaside combined with a Guardian. The Guardian recover faster when it's getting all down. For coolers and power plant I use what you recommend in the video. Mind that the ship has a bug in vertical mode that makes yaw very sluggish, to overcome this bug, you should use only VTOL with landing gear deployed or vertical mode. The bug start when you translate from horizontal ( non VTOL) to vertical mode.
I really hope that we eventually get the omnidirectional thrusters to actually be omnidirectional at some point. I want the vtol power in all directions. I don't think the vertical mode yaw thing is a bug at all. I think it's a consequence of where the maneuvering thrusters are located. They are too close to the centerline of the ship to get much torque and so the ship isn't going to yaw as quickly as it can roll and pitch. (another thing that would be helped if the main engines could rotate to assist)
@@gildedbear5355 I know it's a bug. It handle very sluggish when switch from horizontal non VTOL to vertical. When you switch from landing gear deployed VTOL to vertical it's handle better. I'm not saying is handle like I wish, but is enjoyable. The sluggish bug is no go, horrible. We could meet in PU and stream on discord and make some testing if you want. I like the ship and I wish CIG to implement your idea, that would be truly awesome.
@SubliminalL, I watched your guide and read your layout on DPSCalculator. How to do I change from gimbal to Fixed on the Tana? Do I have to buy a fixed mount somewhere? If so, where? I bought the weapons, just can't attach to the ship. Thanks!
Do you have the reliant Toshima turret? It is the Reliant bespoke turret from the kore. It can be bought at PO and put on the wings of any reliant. You'll need 2, they each hold 2 size 2 fixed. Hope this answers your question.
@@SubliminaLstv Hi. No, I do not have the Toshima Turret. I checked Dumpers at Port Olistar and am not seeing it under Weaponry/Turret. I see Anvil Hornet F7C Nose Turret, C4-160f S5 Hornet BAll Turret, Drake Bucc Spinal Mt, and the rest are VariPuck Gimbals. I'll check other Dumpers to see if I can find it.
I really love the tana so much I drive it everyday even though I have way more ships but I hate the fact that it’s been 2 years and we barely have seen any upgrades or rework on this ship like the dejectable cockpit or the bedlogging problems or the fact that it has some weird turbulence sometimes I really hope the tana gets reworked on soon so I can log out cause it’s my daily driver and I would love to be able to sleep in it properly
You have to click on the gimball S3 next to the bottom 2 weapons and it will give you the option of changing it to "Wing 2x2" they you can "Non Stock Items to Cart" it will tell you all the locations there where you can buy them. Looks like they can only be purchased at Area 18.
One major draw for this ship that I learned from my fleet mates: The Tana is the STEALTHIEST SHIP in SC currently. You heard that right. With the right loadout, it has the lowest EM signature of any ship in the verse. So when she's being stealthy, she's almost impossible to find on radar, and when you find her... well it's too late as she's already got you locked and sent a huge payload your way.
Equipped with a Snowblind and a Slipstream (with weapons, shields, & Q drive off), this ship has an EM sig of just 128. That with 6 Scorpions, 20 S2 missiles, and an enemy having little notice before being on the receiving end of those... equals a formidable lil fighter. For comparison, with the same systems the other ships signatures are as follows: Tana: 128 Tracker: 212 Ghost: 214 Gladiator: 224 Sabre : 249 Eclipse: 249 Razor EX: 300 Raven: 1,552

This is why I'm subbed. I've watched 5 other reviews since 3.9 and literally NOBODY mentioned the missiles except you, while it's the Tana's main feature!
Also for any new players, be aware that you can box up your personal inventory (i.e. mined ore) in a cargo box, allowing you to stay longer between trips to go sell ore, BUT you can ONLY do this if you have an actual cargo grid you can stand on. The 1SCU cargo grid may seem tiny, and it is for hauling cargo, but remember that it is a grid and you can stand on it. Thus, it's all you need to do FPS mining. This makes it unique among light fighter ships as the 325a, Arrow, Gladius, and most other light fighters have no cargo grid. Even the 325a's cargo area doesn't count as a grid.
In short, the Tana is much more multipurpose than other fighters because of that measly little 1SCU grid.

@@polla2256 When doing fps mineables and putting rocks in your backpack you will eventually run out of space. However! You can box up everything in your inventory into a box like the delivery mission ones and put it on a cargo grid and sell it like you would when selling stuff out your backpack usally

- New Babbage (Omega Pro and Center Mass) for everything else

I remember reading somewhere early on in development that the Reliant series used the B Wing as a reference point in concept
From the front it looks like two B-Wings fused at the cockpit.
But the Reliant was also copied AHEM I mean it was the inspiration for a lot of the Korvax ship designs in No Man's Sky.
Monody I would have to double check but I am fairly certain that the Reliant series was designed before No Man’s Sky was even released.
This has now become my favourite ship. I CCU'd from a 325 to it and haven't looked back (I still have a 325 loaner that came with my 600 that I haven't been in since getting the Tana)
The Gilroy gimbals are in a weird place at the moment. there is absolutely no reason to keep them as they are. Hopefully that means a change is coming for those soon (2 size 3's or one size 4 perhaps??)
I run a full energy load out, in fact a full Neutron loadout with NN-14 Canons on the turrets And repeaters under the wings. This has allowed me to successfully (although not quickly) take out a Caterpillar. 20 Rattler II missiles just sweetens the deal.
The only thing missing to my eye (apart from a few quality of life tweaks) is food prep. but that is missing across the entire Reliant line.
I love the Tqna, Tana is good, Tana is life. (This from someone who has a Freelancer MIS and a 600 Explorer)

IIRC, Tana's "turrets" are actually high-articulation gimbals. Co-Pilot controls them like a pilot controls standard gimbals, with no remote camera. I think the Toshimas (the twin-gun ones found on the Kore) are real remote turrets with a remote camera. That's likely why you can't enter a remote camera on the Tana gimbals.
Can confirm, with the replace oof those two turrets the copilot can utilize the camera on the turret. I have replaced both turrets and put 2x 215s on each wing. You can choose which wing to view from, but still fire from both as the co pilot.

Just picked this ship up and I LOVE it! I've really struggled with ship combat in Star Citizen and this is the first ship I've flown that works for me.
I just purchased the Reliant Tana today, I've been eyeing that ship for a very long time.
It's incredibility fun to fly, and can't wait to finish more missions to get more in-game money so I can make some needed improvements to it.
Due to the changes in ballistics, I've opted for a full set of Attrition s.

I just took on a Hornet with a pilot and co-pilot in a dogfight. Shredded them in seconds with my full gatling load-out. Needs the prisoner holding cell instead of the scu though!

I was so close to get me a Reliant but then I decided to go with the Cutlass Black. Still, the Reliant is one of the most beautiful ships in the game. I just love to see how it changes flight modes.

As someone that usually blats around in a 600i, the Tana is the first ship I've taken out and enjoyed dogfighting with NPCs. It's just fun to fly. I had a 325A a while back but didn't understand the mechanics of the game as well as I do now so a revisit to Origin could also be on the cards. Thanks for great content! Cheers

Great stuff dude! I got mine yesterday and dam its so hot! But i wonder that no one talks about bugs? So i was freakinly excited to jump in and then it has a bug where i cant enter the cockpit. Just prone works, but to get out with prone is horror.. Next thing is that i cant claim it anymore..
Great review, I think you covered everything nicely. I’ve always loved the reliant series and the Tana fits my play style best. I was dissatisfied with it when it was first released because it had no hp. Hopefully it is much better now.
Great review with matching video footage! While not perfect (Kore still needs a little more scu) CIG did pretty good buffing the Reliant series. It used to be a useless craft, now the advanced starter category has a few extra ships to consider. Personally i don't have much use for it but still got one for its quirkiness :)
IMPORTANT information: Reliant bug with beds. If you log out from bed, when you log back in, the ship is in flight configuration with the vertical wing so you can’t access the cockpit!!... (In 3.9 it will probably change but when?)
So beds unusable!
Didn’t know that before buying the Sen and it’s quite frustrating...
But the ship is a joy to fly, incredible view, smooth... And the design is unique...

I loved this ship for it's middle payload, it was a great ship even before. I dropped it from my fleet for only one reason. If you loose a wing your total payload is halved and your ability to maneuver is shot. It's a good ship but I agree, needs big shields. Thanks for the great content and I look forward to your next one!

Just to start... I love your videos about ship loadouts and reviews on how they perform in game.
So I have been playing a long time in SC, I wrote off the reliant as kind of a ugly duckling. I always kind of assumed "hey, if you like it there's nothing wrong with that... but its not for me"
when you did this review you could not get it in game, but now you can and its not expensive. Soo I picked it up after a friend mentioned it being pretty solid and.... let me tell you.
compared to a lot of ships the reliant tana almost feels overpowered.
my loadout is close to yours but I swapped gatlings for the FL-22 guns. either 4 FL-22 with 2 FL-11 or just do all 6 FL-22 and have 2 of them fixed. either way seems solid.
For PVE doing bounties this ship is a absolute beast. I can jump in and in 20-40min of gameplay I can make 200-400k if not more if I am skilled... and the star map doesn't slow me down.
does it handle badly... sure but its only really bad when you compare it to a gladius or arrow. but their damage potential is laughably bad by comparison. I play using gimballed assist with a joystick, so if you have all guns set to gimbals the reliant tana blows nearly all other ships away. and if you toss in a all strike force 2 loadout for missiles it seriously starts making no sense why this has not been nerfed.
I used to fly a hornet with fixed and gimballed loadouts... and I took more damage and died more often
I used to fly a arrow with fixed setups, and its fun... dont get me wrong. but my time to kill is still hilariously good in the reliant.
I used to fly the bucc which is cool cause I can land it in my carrack........... but having all the same gun does make the reliant a bit better.
-> that said though I did have a hilarious session once where I damaged my bucc to the point where it was just a cockpit with the 2 s3 fixed guns and the 1s4. you only have maneuvering thrusters at this point.... but i still managed to jump around and kill HRT and VHRT bounties... which was silly.
I love the looks of the sabre and the gladius... in the cool compeition they win every day of the week. but its real hard to argue with the output of the reliant tana...
AND IT HAS BEDS and room for boxes... you can do box missions and bounties, and log out... all of this for only around 1mil aUEC to buy and outfit with top of the line stuff.
like i said up top... I wrote this ship off... but wow was I wrong. I currently could fly, a vanguard sentinel, cutlass black, bucc, and a hornet... all of which are fully kitted out... but i still fly the reliant for PVE.

I think it's a wonderful fleet ship. A Tana supporting a pirate gank or escorting a trade ship seems like a great place for it. Also a decent mission runner.
Finally, if you're bad at the game like me, that many missiles can carry you through dogfighting a bit, with the health pool to survive some oopsies.

I really like the Tana. Just changed my 325 to the Tana. I like the look of the ship. I like that is has bed, shower & toilet. It has a litte bit space for cargo and an easy to acess entry. (my 325 was sometimes bugged when i tried to enter)
The Tana has a great view. And if upgraded it has an amazing firepower. (Outfitted mine with 6 laser repeaters)
The ship has three major problems. One was mentioned, the problem with no chance to leave the seat as long as the landing gear is up.
Next is a bugged bed. You can't use the log in function.
Third is shield holes. It can loose the wings even with shields up. (and maybe the truster)
Hope they will fix these issues soon.
And it could have a litte bit more thruster power. Or be a bit more nimble.
But even with the problems it's my favourite ship in SC. I really enjoy it.

Bought it and despite it's drawbacks I love it. Just need to fix that rear access problem when in verticle mode and that logout glitch when the ship goes verticle when you log back in. Fix that and the Tana and the Sen will be my main ships from now on.

First, we only have 4 fixed maneuvering thrusters. But looking how they are placed, this could be the same as saying that we only got 2 of them…
Second, the ship doesn't have retro-thrusters. The deceleration is fully managed by the maneuvering thrusters.
Third, the main thrusters can't swivel and only have 2 modes: VTOL or normal.
Fourth, the thrusters are overheating from normal used…
Fith, there is a bug on the yawn axis only when in Vertical mode, which don't translate on the pitch axis when in Horizontal mode. Making the vertical mode the worst for fighting.

I will say though that both of the gimbaled weapons can be independently aimed / controlled by the co-pilot while the pilot flies, so it doesn't actually need remote turret access like on the Kore. It's not a bug ^-^

I plan this to be my light personal transport... With those weapons I can easily defend myself and with those amenities long travels will be so much easier.

If you want to use laser weapons instead (for making longer runs at bounty hunting), i will recommend the following build(also i am going to put it in order to buy them in order on the list):
1.Breton (Area18) 52k
2.2x Reliant wings 2xS2 (area18 dumpers depot) 7k each
3.2x Ultra flow (Levski) 27k each
4.4x NN-14 Neutrons (PO) 14,15k each
5.2x Tarantula GT-870 Mark 1(levski) 9,5k each
5.2x FR-66 (PO) 18,45k each
6.Drift (PO) 21k
Missiles as you like or want.
I wanted the Sen as an intro level science ship.... that said, finding yourself fighting pirates is still an issue that will occur, this helped me understand how to equip my Sen so she can keep herself alive to collect the data she needs and get home safely.
My setup for the tana is very similar to yours, but I changed out the size 1 guns with fixed size 2 dominance scatterguns. It's slightly less good against small ships, but against anything cutlass size and up it's a big decrease to the ttk. It also means you can still keep on fighting even after running out of ammo and missiles.
This sounds like a great little fighter. Smallest heavy fighter :)
The Reliant Tana can be bought with aUEC now, as of Alpha 3.10. It costs 870000 aUEC and can be bought at New Deal in Lorville.

Load out for tana ( try this) bulldog/badger mix. It shreds. looking for a stronger cooling pair up 10 second over heat is the downside( overclock)
This thing is a PVE beast now! I beat Pirate Swarm the other day with it. I used the Toshimas with Scorpions but put scatter guns under the wings. With a S314 missile rack and using S1 Arrow missiles you'll get 85k total missle damage. Those 22 missles firing off all at once at the Hammerhead was very satisfying.
Also, great for cave mining because of the cargo grid.
how do you fire all missiles at once?
@@Swatmat once target is selected tap the middle mouse button a bunch of times and locks will start stacking. Once all the locks are stacked hold the middle mouse button down and awaaaay they go.

I love my Tana, it's my go to mission ship.
I have said it before this is a great support ship for the faster fighters and having one to back you up.
Love the tana now had to pick one up for the buy back list at least. Will buy one outright when I have some cash
The Tana makes a really nice fighter for a new player now. It's durable, can have good firepower, and with the space for a box or two, beds to logout in, I think it's finally in a good place. If they fix the rotation during quantum so you can get up and square away the co-pilot capabilities, this could be a really great starter fighter.
I was able to access the turrets from the co-pilot seat. I think you either had gimbals installed, or just had trouble finding the right place for the mouse courser. I also prefer the Atlas to the Voyage. It can make the trip from ARC L5 to microtech at 72 MKm, the longest trip currently in game. It only adds 5 seconds to the PO to Microtech jump over the Voyage.

the second seat is massive for me, if a mission has some ground combat parts to it, the extra gun is welcomed

Well if you get two toshimi turrets you get a gunner with x4 size 2 weapons I give them badger repeaters so the gunner does not have to worry about ammo and the view is 360 degrees pilot loses sight no problem gunner can see them and turn around no matter what the gunner still has sight it’s pretty crazy.
I've wanted reasons to keep the Tana since they concepted it but it was always lacking, good job 3.9 (upgraded a spare pisces CCU token to one) :)
The reliant series is my favorite ships so far and I love the fact that they gave it some much needed love. But something that has always confused me is the way people talk about the maneuverability of the ship. I keep reading the ship handles like a brick. I have used the Kore a lot and now I have the Tana and when fighting i rarely get hit and constantly fly circles around my target whether a player or npc. I usually lose because of the sudden loss of power mid fight.....even with the best components i can find the ship always shuts down because of it 🤨
Its still my favorite though
Tracy Miller also turning rate.. when you get used to the reliants in combat it’s no longer an issue and very easy to overcome. I rarely have to hold fire because I’m off target with this thing as I’ve got used to it. Love my tana.
im more into the hardknockers and go with the S4 C-788 Autocannons, shooting full metal bullets 730 dmg into others feels like a human tank version of the glaive it also gives some superior range compared to a lot of others given their max of s3´s.
also given its long range, hard hitting option i feel like you can compare it equally to a Ares Ion, making it on par with a 2 times costly ship with the addition of beds, scu,... but alsooo help out by shooting rockets at chasers of your buddies, i see it more as a defencetower, a gun and rocket supporter in a little group of ships rather than a real brawler/hunter, with that perspective it can really shine beyond what we compare it to.
On the copilot seat, there is 3 bugs:
- the copilot can't enter in the remote turrets
- the copilot can't target a ship
- the copilot can't give back the control to the pilot
For the first 2, by switching to the Toshima turrets, they are fixed, and outside of the remote turrets, the copilot can use all aiming modes.
But, I should still say that you shouldn't go in battle with the Reliant Tana:
- Huge Cross section…
- Really bad maneuverability…
- Devastating to lose one wing…
My recommendation for PvP:
- Play missiles to keep others from closing
- Use energy / ballistics canons for maximum range engagement (2km)
For close range fighting, take repeaters, Over Power them (or even Over Clock), and don't let the other party circling you…
It's a ship you have to get use to. When you switch from vertical to VTOL it could strafe up like crazy, couple the strafe up with rotational manoeuvres, and be surprised how the 325A loose site while your landing hits. However, to be effective you have to constantly change from VTOL to vertical mode. The default missile are no go, the missile speed is very low compared to the rest in same size and category. I use a mixed load out of ballistics and energy repeaters, or in rare cases I go all size 2 scatters guns. With 6 x lasers scatters guns and using VTOL, I could bring down an Hammerhead. Because of the large cross section and inability to dodge fire as quickly as a smaller fighter, I use 2 x Palaside shields, or one Palaside combined with a Guardian. The Guardian recover faster when it's getting all down. For coolers and power plant I use what you recommend in the video.
Mind that the ship has a bug in vertical mode that makes yaw very sluggish, to overcome this bug, you should use only VTOL with landing gear deployed or vertical mode. The bug start when you translate from horizontal ( non VTOL) to vertical mode.
I really hope that we eventually get the omnidirectional thrusters to actually be omnidirectional at some point. I want the vtol power in all directions.
I don't think the vertical mode yaw thing is a bug at all. I think it's a consequence of where the maneuvering thrusters are located. They are too close to the centerline of the ship to get much torque and so the ship isn't going to yaw as quickly as it can roll and pitch. (another thing that would be helped if the main engines could rotate to assist)
@@gildedbear5355 I know it's a bug. It handle very sluggish when switch from horizontal non VTOL to vertical. When you switch from landing gear deployed VTOL to vertical it's handle better. I'm not saying is handle like I wish, but is enjoyable. The sluggish bug is no go, horrible.

Do you have the reliant Toshima turret? It is the Reliant bespoke turret from the kore. It can be bought at PO and put on the wings of any reliant. You'll need 2, they each hold 2 size 2 fixed. Hope this answers your question.
@@SubliminaLstv Hi. No, I do not have the Toshima Turret. I checked Dumpers at Port Olistar and am not seeing it under Weaponry/Turret. I see Anvil Hornet F7C Nose Turret, C4-160f S5 Hornet BAll Turret, Drake Bucc Spinal Mt, and the rest are VariPuck Gimbals. I'll check other Dumpers to see if I can find it.
FYI, found it in Dumper's at Area 18 for others who come after me looking to buy this.

I really love the tana so much I drive it everyday even though I have way more ships but I hate the fact that it’s been 2 years and we barely have seen any upgrades or rework on this ship like the dejectable cockpit or the bedlogging problems or the fact that it has some weird turbulence sometimes I really hope the tana gets reworked on soon so I can log out cause it’s my daily driver and I would love to be able to sleep in it properly

Id love to do every ship however that one isn't one I see coming in the near future.
where do I get the tushima turrets for the reliant tana? I am confused erkul mentions it cannot even equip a turret.
You have to click on the gimball S3 next to the bottom 2 weapons and it will give you the option of changing it to "Wing 2x2" they you can "Non Stock Items to Cart" it will tell you all the locations there where you can buy them. Looks like they can only be purchased at Area 18.

One major draw for this ship that I learned from my fleet mates: The Tana is the STEALTHIEST SHIP in SC currently. You heard that right. With the right loadout, it has the lowest EM signature of any ship in the verse. So when she's being stealthy, she's almost impossible to find on radar, and when you find her... well it's too late as she's already got you locked and sent a huge payload your way.
If that's true, that's excellent.
Equipped with a Snowblind and a Slipstream (with weapons, shields, & Q drive off), this ship has an EM sig of just 128. That with 6 Scorpions, 20 S2 missiles, and an enemy having little notice before being on the receiving end of those... equals a formidable lil fighter. For comparison, with the same systems the other ships signatures are as follows:
Tana: 128
Tracker: 212
Ghost: 214
Gladiator: 224
Sabre : 249
Eclipse: 249
Razor EX: 300
Raven: 1,552
Like the prisioner pod idea. The Tana could be a pretty decent advocacy ship.
I really want this ship but currently I have no ship to carry my bike lol. Probably gonna get a cutlass but I'd still love this, could always purchase in game

There is a bed logout issue once that is fixed the ship will be great
Is this logout issue game-wide or just for the reliant?
@@SubliminaLstv The reliant rotates into flight mode upon logout making re accessing the cockpit impossible its rough
