First, I want to say, I'm not a teacher, but I was a teacher assistant for years and my daughter was studying and is now in her 3rd year teaching 3rd grade, I've been watching you since the beginning and you are such a kind and wonderful teacher despite all of the changes and bad experiences in your past schools. My daughter has used and loved lots of your tips and tricks and we both appreciate all the hard work you put into your videos and helping other teachers. I have noticed some teachers are not as welcoming of your purchases and things you do for your class, but a lot of us feel that it's not your decor or the things you buy, but it's YOU that changes these children's lives, and any parent would be excited to have you as their child's teacher! Thank you for all you do!
I appreciate this SO MUCH Donna!!! Thank you! congrats to your daughter on her third year! Hopefully she is having a wonderful time. Thank you for watching and supporting and just spreading some positivity my way!
🥰Love witnessing the entire transformation!! From moving states and districts to NOW!! Wow!!!! So much accomplished and your room is 1st Grade Ready! Cheers to an A+MAZING year! 📚
I just wanted you to know our HOMESCHOOL has been following your channel for years; your ideas and classroom setups have always kept us inspired. And just so you know - our classroom gets TONS of compliments. Thank you!!
I loved this classroom setup series. You have truly come into what kind of teacher you are and what you need in your classroom. I love how everything has a purpose. I still watch your first year setup vlogs because of your excitement and awe of it actually happening.
Thank you!!! It actually is crazy how much has changed yet remained the same. I think you really worded it perfectly! Crazy to think how long it's been...still excited just in a different way for different things haha!
I’m always amazed at what you manage to do with setup in the crazy situations you have been in! The room looks great, including the way you put the secret stories posters up. Thanks for investing the time to vlog and share. ⭐️
The amount of times I have said "I hate sweating" this summer while setting up my room (and running summer camps at our school), was too many. Haha I totally lost it when you said the same! It's amazing how much goes into setting up a classroom. My husband keeps asking me, how is there STILL stuff left to do? I keep trying to explain that the painting, furniture, and big stuff is like the tip of the iceberg, bare minimum for what I want to do. All the labels, building centers, organizing materials, it all takes so much time. And the more time I spend now, the easier it will be for me later. But that's hard to grasp if you aren't a teacher.
I have loved all the different classroom setups you’ve had over the years, but I think this particular classroom is my favorite! I love the accent walls!
thank you SO MUCH! It feels sooooooooooo me!!!! It's really cool to see how I have pieced things together over the years to get here. Yay for schools encouraging painting too!
I’m not a teacher, I just love your personality and love for your students!! This room transformation is incredible with all of the craziness along the way with your stuff being stuck in California. Hope you have a great year! ❤️
I had the same struggles this year. Trying to keep it simple, and feeling the heavy weight of all the things on the wall. I put up my secret stories in the same place but I think I am going back up on the ladder and making them all in rainbow color order like you did. It does make it look less chaotic. Thank you!
Awesome video! Each year I love seeing how your classrooms come together from start to finish….. I love how you hung your letters and secret stories letters. I agree with you the numbers shouldn’t go with the letters - it would be too much like you said…. This year will be the first year I video tape my lessons to see how I am doing and what I need to improve on (like you do)…. Thank you sooo much for all your inspiration!!! 😍
Your classroom looks so good! 💕🌿☀️You have lots of natural light from the windows and the rainbow secret story posters is a great idea! I teach kindergarten in Canada and I’m planning on buying a new classroom rug that’s the same as yours cause you make it look so pretty. I think it was a good choice to get less cluttered number posters. When I looked at you letter “L” poster I found it a little difficult to read because the uppercase L is so close to the lowercase. I would use a sharpie to draw a line/expend the space between the letters so it’s readable for the kiddos!
It's a beautiful room. It really shows your love for your students that you work this hard to make their classroom so comfy. Your love shows in your teaching as well. I'm with you though...I despise classroom set up.
HAHAHA! See, if I could just....duplicate myself...it would be great! But the time, and having to do this year after year, has burned me out! I obviously still took the time and get excited about things but this year man I just wanted to skip it and get to the actual teaching part 😂😂😂
You could put the numbers on the green wall. Just a thought. I’ve loved your classroom set up videos. You seem like such a great and amazing teacher. Have a great year!!
@@MrsCallsCampers Yes! I hung mine in categories thinking that would make them easier to find but 1st graders don't know the categories so I agree that finding them by color would be easier for them!
Side note- I ended up hanging mine in order of my curriculum’s scope and sequence. It is pretty visually overwhelming… my kids don’t start until September 7th but I have a feeling I may change it.
Love your videos!!! Maybe instead of putting up your numbers, put them on a ring and hang by your number line. Then when you need one you can flip that to the front to show the kiddos? 😊
So amazing, I've been enjoying watching you! I started last week trying your classroom job system with the director and helper and it was so great! Can you please share where you got the wood picture holders that hold your pictures for your kiddos. I'd love to do something similar. Thanks!
thanks Allison! The frames are from TJ Maxx like 5 years ago! They had string attached to them already so it was nice. I bet you could find good options at a store like that!
I am a teacher in the Netherlands and have been watching a couple of classroom setup's. I am horrified at the conditions and lack of funding.... Except for my personal nicknacks like a frame for pictures everything is bought by the school, even stuff like pencils, cleaning supplies... We have ICT personal who take care of all computer-related things for you. And I heared you don't get payed in summer? Wow! No wonder so many teachers quit! Here you get payed 12 months, a bonus in december and in may jou get holiday-money (both together a little bit less then one month salary. It is shame that nobody recognizes the importance of your work or values it as or should be! I hope you will have a great group of students this year.
Mayleen how about you move your vowel teams to your small group table area. You have a bit of space above the board. Love the watching the classroom setups 💕

You could run a peice of twine across the wall with the windows and clip your numbers on that. It all looks great!
Looks absolutely beautiful!! You did such a great job Mayleen! 💛 Can’t wait to watch your teaching vlogs this year!!!

Glad everything came together.

Please remember that you are looking at the posters through a video. I'm sure the L l is easier to see in person.
Your room looks lovely- have a great year
Love the set up. It looks so welcoming. Well done. 💫
thanks so much!
Love the rainbow order for SS

thank you so much!! so many different ways!

Put the numbers on the green wall OR on the window in the middle over the white board. Looks great!
I love seeing s this! Remind me where they will have names to see them when writing them and learning their names?
I wish I would have watched this before hanging my stories today 😅😅😅 the tape is genius
Side note- I ended up hanging mine in order of my curriculum’s scope and sequence. It is pretty visually overwhelming… my kids don’t start until September 7th but I have a feeling I may change it.
I’m not sure if anyone suggested this, but you could hang the numbers on a string and hang them in front of your windows if you find you do need them
Hey love your videos. I am considering getting kindles for my class. I would love to know how you use the kindles in your class
I just use them for apps! It’s cheaper than an iPad :) :)

Number posters on the wall over by the math/art center? You could do like mini posters
mini ones is a great idea actually thank you!
I’ve watched almost every classroom set up & I love it! You could maybe hang the them vertically in the reading corner by the window?
Loving the new setup! I know this is delayed, but could the number posters go across the top of the green wall?
I have backpack hooks and some storage up there now so no, but maybe near by...

Could you put the number posters on the green wall?
You'll see in a future video why I can't but -- maybe close by!
Number posters on green wall
What if you moved the superhero letters to the wall above small groups and set the number posters where the superhero words were?
not a bad idea! i hate that freaking ladder though haha!
Does admin mind you stapling into the walls?
nope!
Where are the alphabet posters you have available?
They are from Hollie Griffith on TptT! :) :)

wouldn't be a bad idea! you couldn't pay me to use that ladder again though hahaa. maybe!!!!
@@MrsCallsCampers it’ll be will worth it 🤣 and for the numbers maybe above your sink area. Lots of room there but it’s far from kids view
