Every time I watch this movie I'm always hoping for a different outcome where the captain survives! Easily the best scene & best Resident Evil movie out of them all. He plays such a good solider in every movie he's in. I don't know his name but he's underrated af. Should really get a leading role. The American accent he puts on sounds good too. He seems to always die as some sort of soldier/captain lol. He dies in Alien vs Predator too.
Alien vs Predator and Resident Evil were both directed by the same director Paul WS Anderson, and both these films were made around the same time. Maybe that's why they both have similar plot where captain dies and the city blows up with a nuke in the second films of both franchises.
Colin was also in the Angel has Fallen with Gerard Butler. He played a high ranking police officer. Only has a few screen time total, probably all up in the entire movie like 5 or 7 minutes and he survives and shares no screen time with the main character.
I watched a video about this movie and the scene when they come back and the bodies are gone is to make a reference in the old Resident Evil games when you killed a room with enemies and you came back they were gone, that scene with the missing bodies was reference to the bodies disappearing after you reentered the room.

The automated defense mechanism only triggers when you’ve already walked through the corridor and have already opened the door. Also if you could make a chessboard lasers, why not do immediately.
It wanted you to have a chance. First one you just had to duck, second one either jump high infront or duck down later. Third one was just running toward it either jumping or getting down.
Because the AI was made by a gansta lucifer. Kinda like in the beginning of the movie with the elevator scene, playing with the person rather than going for the kill right away.

20 years later I notice the dude in charge went back into the kill room instead of staying in position by the red queen. There might've been an override on the doorway. He might've been able to damage the red queen somehow.
The lasers were originating within the glass corridor he would have been safe from them even with that door closing on them. He just had to be next to the frame.
It occurs to me that the Red Queen had the near perfect zombie disposal facility in it's control. All it had to do was lead zombies in from one end, trap a few of them at a time, run the laser net through them, get the swat team to come in from the other end and clear out the detritus, then shut that end, rinse and repeat.
At my mothers house, my old room back from when i was a kid is the same as when i left it 15 years ago, and i still have the resident evil 1 Movie poster up on my wall which i got from the Blockbusters when i was a kid, along with pirates of the Caribbean and many other things.
This is the most memorable moment in this whole franchise...it's sad cause of amazing it was and everything fell apart but why in the hell didn't any of them shoot the glass around them?!
What I've always wondered is just why they didn't simply shoot the walls where the laser was coming from? Sure, the shots may have bounced around, but it would at least show they're trying to avoid getting sliced and diced.
1:41 is what doomed them. Everything was chill until he explained what it is, at which point the Red Queen overheard and was like "What the-?! F--k that!" and turned on her lazers.
This is the only movie from the franchise that was actually scary to watch. I was 11 years old when this came out, so imagine watching this during night and w/ this spooky soundtrack playing.
I always thought to myself, what about the dude on the ground who got his hand sliced, did he die? Also what about the bag of goodies they had in there, the laser was shown to cut steel. But eh, it's an awesome scene none the less

@@vinayak90417 i almost died at least four times on different situations. Hard to give details of every single one, but i can give u the basic hints: stay calm, examine the situation clearly and try to think fast. If u do that, u will be able to survive on almost every hard situation.

What I've always wondered is just why they didn't simply shoot the walls where the laser was coming from? Sure, the shots may have bounced around, but it would at least show they're trying to avoid getting sliced and diced.
