      Me too bro. I actually stopped watching the NBA for the most part after MJ, but then almost completely stopped after Kobe started slowing down around 2012. I'd tune into a few games a year after and a few playoff games but I used to watch like 100 games a season.
      My boy told me to watch some Jokic highlights so I looked up some videos on youtube and after about 3 videos it hit me what I was watching and I was FLOORED. Mind you this was 2-3 years ago. My initial thought was there's no way this dude is doing this every game, and this has to be some wild compilation video. So I started tuning into Nuggets games and instantly was hooked. I knew I was watching the center Larry Bird the first game I tuned into. A couple players every 2 decades, maybe even fewer, will have the cerebral ability to do what he's doing. Then the dude just gets better the following 2 seasons, and this season looks EVEN BETTER. I can not believe this mfer. I would have sworn on my life I'd never see someone I'd compare their impact to MJ on offense until the day I died, but Joker is right there, and it's even more interesting because it's in such a unique, different way.
      If I ever met Joker I'd thank him for renewing my love of basketball. I wish he had a son or something because when he retires...idk man. I may just go back into basketball hibernation. How beautiful his game is, is almost ruining future basketball for me. Haven't felt that way since MJ.

      @@daddyfuse50we are all watching history. I am in shock at how strong he is now in the low post. There’s no hope for the opponent: right or left, dunk, roll, or jump, drive or fadeaway. His scoring tools are like nothing I’ve ever seen. Add in that he’s the best big man moving without the ball and it’s clear he’s playing a different game.

    • @daddyfuse50
      @daddyfuse50 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ricardorodriguez5549 I try to tell people to just watch him offball. No superstar with that skill set, those post moves, that passing ability, that touch from everywhere, has any business being just as good offball. It doesn't even make sense. Along with being basically perfect onball, hes easily also one of the best offball players in history. His screens are rock solid, and create both direct and indirect buckets for teammates, and this season hes shown off an improved ability to cut offball to disrupt the defense. He has such an incredible impact its hard to quantify it. It's why advanced stats love him so much, but even those have limitations. I'd be curious to see what some organizations private, in-house analytics say about him.
      It made sense when I heard the story that this offseason he spent time listening to European basketball coaching seminars, and sent his thoughts and input to the speakers. Anyone under the assumption he doesn't care about bball, or that he's just into horses, doesn't understand the immense passion he shows for the sport, and studying the in depth theory on opposing defenses. The most interesting player ever.

    First player since larry bird who knows how to and can do everything without hogging the ball. Easy top 10 all time for me already. His scoring game is absolute eye candy, it’s just as good as his passing game sometimes. Jokic is living proof you dont need to be lucky or have lots of talent to win, he made this team what it is. They are all learning from him because he is unselfish and ultra intelligent, and he never takes credit because it reinforces good teamwork. This is the forgotten teachings of Bill Russell and Larry Bird, he is being a leader without taking away from his teams potential. Truly a great time to be watching the NBA seeing maybe the GOAT making his legacy.

      @@misevibre The difference between talent & skill is misunderstood. Talent is what you're born with. Skill is something you develop with practice, but that's where the differentiation ends. • @misevibre
      @misevibre 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@user-zr4km5ns8t I don't entirely agree with the skill part. Some people are just naturally better at a skill and skill acquisition. Several factors go into it (IQ, size and shape of extremities...etc). Russel Westbrook can go into a hyperbolic time chamber (DBZ style) and train there for 10 years - he will still not have the hands of Jokic. Talent is not just how high you can jump. Some people just have wooden hands...some don't. Not everyone can develop soccer skill high enough to be Messi, people have different limits when it comes to skill as well - not just athleticism.

      He's not nearly as slow as he makes it appear he is. What fans who don't watch closely enough miss is the fact that his footwork & body control is so perfectly efficient that he exerts only enough effort & energy to do what he needs to. Other players are wearing themselves out while he's conserving his stores of energy yet he's dominating them. Every once in a while you see flashes when he suddenly seems to be moving a lot quicker. At 6'11, 280 pounds he doesn't need to move that fast to do whatever he wants to. He's the most complete offensive player I've ever seen. I started watching the NBA in 1969.

      @@jallison5457 thanks to the nuggets defence hiding him and limiting one on one matchups where Jokic is most likely exposed on ball defence. Nuggets have the right defensive pieces unlike 2020-2022 where defence pieces was not as good and Jokic got exposed badly back then.
      Everyone has weakness and Jokic defence is a glaring hole. If other teams figure out the nuggets defence and target Jokic all game, then that’s bad. But depends on how well nuggets defence counters that they couldn’t last year and so far this year but back in 2022 before they got KCP and brown (last year) and only had Aaron Gordon it’s different. KCP is really an elite defender

    The Nuggets bench depth is something to behold after the struggles last year. Murray goes out with the hammy, the rookie Strawther steps up 21 in 19 minutes & goes 5-9 from distance. Even Colin Gillespie contributed & was on the court with Joker. If Watson continues to develop this bench unit is going to be nasty.

    • @ivanr.1005
      @ivanr.1005 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It's easier to focus on bench when your team have strong core, that's why other teams will not win anything just maybe Boston or Milwaukee.

    • @daddyfuse50
      @daddyfuse50 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If anything, Murray is overrated playing next to Jokic. The years Jokic lost, it wasn't just Murray out, he was playing with a heavy rotation of 4 or 5 players who are now out of the league, and it wasn't due to age. Guard rotation was Facu Campazzo, Morris, Will Barton, and Austin Rivers. Think about that. Jokic also got that group to round 2. 😂 Only time he was out in round 1 he lost to the eventual champs, and put up 33/10. Murray isn't even NECESSARY for a repeat, and sometimes will stall the offense with terrible iso shot selection.

      I will make ir even more impossible. Peak Jokic is the greatest player I've ever seen in my life. And stats also prove that. Just look at his last 3 seasons. In 2021 his per was 31,3 (in that time 7th highest of all time), in 2022 he set the new record for greatest per in NBA history and greatest +/- in NBA history (he had 33 per that year and nearly 14 +/- which doesn't seems like it's real). In play offs his per was also 33. And last season where he also should've eon MVP his per was 31,5 (as great as Steph's unanimous MVP season) and his per in play offs was 31,3. He won championship, finals MVP and conference MVP that season. This season his per is nearly 34 right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣soo I'm sorry, but I don't think we've ever seen individually and teamwise more efficient basketball player than this guy. Truly one of a kind. Lebron from 2012 to 2014??? Not as great as Jokic, believe me🤣😂and btw Jokic hadn't all star last year and still had 1 less win in regular season than Lebron in 2013 who had both DWade and Bosh in that time😂.
