I just went to a PPG (non corporate) vendor and Home Depot looking for the permanizer. Was told it’s been discontinued recently. Not sure if true but based on your test, I was going to use it. Off to 2nd place!!
Definitely need to add Glidden Premium Exterior - used on all of the TUFF SHED's . Permanizer is a great exterior paint hard to beat has a UV resistant formulation
Ton of thought and effort on your part for the benefit of all. Thank you. Getting ready to spray my house after installing Hardie Plank. When spraying the thicker paints, like Dynasty, Marquee, resilient etc, do you thin it? I noticed when reading the labels it mentions thinning. It’s not until you drop to Behr premium plus, that labels say you don’t have to thin. I have a professional sprayer, was hoping to apply a thick paint w/o thinning. Additionally, would you use a 515 tip or 517 with the thicker paint?
I read a peer reviewed research paper several years ago that came to the conclusion that the single largest factor in the durability of different brands and formulations of paint was the thickness of the coat of paint. I'd say, choose a paint that makes sense to you for the qualities that you find desirable and put it on as thick as you can...
What were the rankings best to worst? Also, were the boards covered in snow during the winter? I’ve noticed my past projects done in behr products do look better than those done in sherwin
Yes, they were covered in snow sometimes in the winters, they also got hit with hail. Here is a chart I made rating them: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zf2doT1FLX1omUdEzktnfEo-M7wIH6SleRTy20130JE/edit?usp=sharing
I was looking for opinions on e600, and your video had way more information that I ever expected. Thanks. Didn't see what sheen you used, was it satin?
Home Depot stops carrying Perminizer😢. I painted my house and my shed in 6/24. Just now, I wanted that same paint for my sisters house but couldn’t find them on shelves anymore at my local HD
I learned that most HD do not carry it, some do, but most don't. Its up to that store if they want to stock it. You should be able to call the HD store and order it and getting it delivered, or if you have a PPG store near you I would try there.
Hey man, thanks for not flaking around and making people wait until the end to find out. Shows you definitely have character. Appreciate your videos
This kind of helpful work deserves way WAY more views. Thank you.
Thank you so much for the positive comment! Of course I agree 😃.
Impressive study. Thank you.
Such valuable information. Thank you. I'll do my part to spread this video
Thank you for the comment, it really helps!
Super helpful information.
Thanks!
Wow, thank you so much!
You did a great job. I do wish you would have included some Lowes brands in the mix, because I don’t have a Home Depot in my area
If I could only do one, which Lowes brand would you want most?

Thanks for sharing. It definitely resisted fading better with two coats.
So...forget the primer? You betcha!
