Did Revature. Got laid off after 5 months. Training was decent but the pay during training was horrible with no after training support with your new client. $8/hr for 9 weeks. After training the hourly wage was bumped to $21 with my new client. I just got a job offer from Dev10 after nearly a month of going through the interview process. No more 2 hours ever day stuck in the subway and bus, no more 9 hours in the office... Please share your experience. And also tell if someone can join this program remotely?
@@SkillFoundryIO At that time I was doing the HTD while I was studying and reading a massive amount of work materials and taking tests for a new high paying job I was hired on for and I was also trying to finish my Information System lessons so I could get my degree.
1 priority was getting the job so I got that but 2nd priority was getting the HTD or my degree in Information System which I didn't get at the time.
With the HTD you are competing with other people who want the same thing but that does not mean you can't find study partners.
I wasn't able to complete all the assignments I was given and all the projects because I was overwhelmed with studying for my new job and my degree and even though I am familiar with the Java language It was a tad bit too much at the time.
If you or anybody have any specific questions I will try my best to answer them but right now this is all the info I can think of at the moment.
@@la-dev Yes you can join it remotely which is what I did
@@la-dev I didn't get it because I was a bit overwhelmed with the massive amount of materials I had to study for a new job I was hired on for and I was also taking online classes so I could get my Information System degree. I got the job, which was my #1 priority, but I didn't get hired on as a Java Dev because I was not able to finish all the assignments and Projects.
You are in competition with other students but that doesn't not mean you can't find study partners which something you should do.
I can't think of anything at the moment but if you have any specific questions let me know.
How fo i get connected, i already write good code, i am good at develop algorithms for problem solving
love to join a program like this. I’m from London. If you know of any companies that provide such programs, please let me know. Thanks!❤
Mthree was one. They got acquired by Wiley Edge but I think they split off again.
There are others in the UK
@@SkillFoundryIO thank you so much, right now I ‘ll apply for Mthree
How do I get into this?
The bonding suggests that these programs are only available in the West/OECD
That has been my experience. Though I haven’t looked outside the US and UK.
with the current u.s job market in tech, this stands no chance, the coding jobs almost do not even exist
It’s been viable for years. The big players are still playing. Reduced volume but way better off $ than the Bootcamps
My name is Christian, I am in Germany and interested to be a JavaScript developer. I am looking for companies that are willing to train me to work for them.
Now can learners outside the US Apply for these Hire,Train Deploy programs?
If Yes what are the chances they get selected in your view?
If not are there other alternatives that learners Outside of the US can leverage on?
Thanks for your response!
Most only do learners who don’t require visa assistance. One company I can point to in the US is InSpring. They work with learners on a student visa, enrolled at US schools in getting extra skills and converting to a work visa.
I’m not aware of any other programs that service non-citizens.
There are a few programs in UK and the EU. I’m not aware of any that recruit non citizens though. Sorry!
In India like these HTD firms existed?
Pls i live in Nigeria, things ahvent bee easy thiugh i repair cars of several brands but i want to diversify into IT am done learning html and css am learning JavaScript how in God name can i get this ?
So much focus on young graduates, its no wonder experienced guys are getting neglected. Hiring an experienced person would've been so fast as they already have so much experience and can learn new tech so much faster. Yet we see that experienced IT resources are not getting hired.
I lived through the dot com crash. This environment is very similar.
Things are improving but there is a lot of slack in the market. People who haven’t kept current but were making good salaries are in a bad place.
It all boils down to pay. It's easy to pay a recent graduate a lower pay amount than an experienced dev who might want higher pay.
Very interesting sir thanks for guiding
Well... I'm a newbie in python programming language but I'm almost giving up because I can't even understand how for loop and while loop works. After going through a lot of examples and still can solve a simple exercise because I can't understand at all
Are you practicing effective learning techniques? Check out our site. There's a free course on how to generally learn programming.
@SkillFoundryIO alright, thank you.
What does the low wage look like ?
In the United States… $10-20/hr
I am in Ghana and want to take part in this program. Is there a way I can apply as I'm not in the United State?
I’m not aware of any programs that work with non-citizens of their host country.
Is this applicable in Sierra Leone( west Africa).
It seems mostly centered in US and Western Europe. You’d have to search your region though.
Good question.
A brother from SL
Try a country like SA or LinkedIn
Tech and freelancing jobs are there
One could create a U.S. LLC company. That LLC could then do contract work for US corporations and clients in fivver and Upwork. As the owner of the company, you’d be doing the work. No Visa needed to start.
Where do I apply ?
Thank you
I am interested.
Can it be extended to us in Africa?
With all the interest in the comments from Africa, there is a business opportunity for someone.
How can I join one of these paid to train programs.
You apply for them just like any other job. You generally have to be local / in person, willing to move, and able to complete the technical and behavioral interview assessments.
can highschool students do this??, if yes then how?
I’m not aware of any program that serves minors.
Def trying this in 2025 when I'm in one timezone
Google should just put a link to their own incubator program...
Does Google have an incubator program? I've heard of some from Microsoft, JP Morgan Chase, and others, but not Google. I've built a few for some fortune 500 companies though, so I hope more of them come online.
@@SkillFoundryIO code.google startup
Google ? They used to do incubators, but it's transferred mostly to state programs.
I'm a lead instructor at the top rated bootcamp on career karma. Talk to me. I can prove my experience. I can't get a job. Talk to me. I will gladly talk!
Sorry what did you mean ? Please be elaborate
Hi what the company name? 😊
There's a few companies I mention in the video. To be clear, Skill Foundry is not an HTD firm, I just wanted to educate people on the option.
Dev10, HTD Talent, Revature, and others. Search for "hire train deploy" or "recruit train deploy".
When I was unemployed for 7 months, I tried getting one of these jobs. At the time, "Changing The Face of Tech" was the main hiring motivation. My face and background was something that companies were trying to Change away from so I didn't get any of those jobs. Meanwhile, my co-workers who were equal skill, experience, and had the right face were able to easily get these jobs.
Sorry to hear that.
weirdest thing I've heard. what do you mean your face didn't fit the "changing face of Technology" and you mentioned background? can you tell us more.
White?
Do you mean 'face' literally? Thats so weird especially if its a western company coz they been screaming equal opportunity for ages!
How's that "white privilege" working out for you...
Unfortunately, most if not all the HTD companies are predatory.
isnt it interships?
Not really because employment is through the staffing firm, not the end employer until after the contract period.
I like your transparency. But I doubt we can benefit in this opportunity from Africa.
Guys i am from africa, let’s gather and build ours
Bootcamps are a huge scam
Some are but plenty of good ones. I did Eric's bootcamp in 2018 and I've been on the job for 6 years now.
this kind dont work on aged learners who wants to shift carreer in my part of the world
It’s unfortunate that it isn’t more widespread.
I am in Nigeria 😢
Can you give me a list on companies that you went over
HTD Talent
Revature
Dev10
My friend I can take that for free just to gain the skills where are the links kkkkkkkkkkkkk
I dont have laptop thats my challenge give me laptop and dont pay me to learn i will surely be in class
