Your, "it'll do" job, is most places," the best we can do" job. Lol. What's the stone guard you use please, as it looks like a nice textured finish?

Didn’t know Roy could move that fast?

Sparking in the patch panels... Makes it look like me scratchin' a mosquito bite. Drill, hammer, MIG, repeat.

I believed you said this was an early MX-5. But I think I saw it has the newer rear subframe with the crossmember and the two other reinforcement bars. Is that a bolt on upgrade or does it need changes to the old body to fix the bars?

The late MK1 subframe brace requires the mounts adding if you have an early subframe I think.

@@foamdataservices Yup, I have the old rear subframe without the lower brace mounts (it's a late 1989/1990 model) and I solved that by adding the reinforcement braces from I.L. Motorsport. Soldering into the chassis isn't by any means legal in my country so it would never pass an inspection, so bolt ons was the way to go.
What I am really asking is if I swap the whole subframe with one with the three braces. I've google it up and apparently the body needs to be modded to fix the front braces. I guess I'm stuck with old subframes, haha.

This car isn't that early, but the grey coating on the inside of the panels looks like the earlier type because it's darker.
