Lots of good stuff to think about! On blaming dice... ever notice how some of the same players will blame the dice for losing, but never blame dice for when they win?
I’m not sure how to word this but I’m gonna try because this happens a lot in my games where my opponent and I get stuck on the technicalities of the rules. And I know it really depends on teams, match ups, etc. how do you know which rule overrides other rules that say the exact opposite? Example: my Death Guard had a strategy ploy where I can select an enemy operative, and make him -AP. The Angels of Death then countered with a strategy ploy of their own by changing their scheme to where their operatives AP cannot be negatively impacted. Did I just waste my CP?
In a sense yes. They avoided the APL loss, but they've also switched over their secondary tactic and spent a CP. Everything comes with a trade off, and the knowledge game is an important aspect of playing any game really. Hopefully whatever tactic they've lost in the mean time is impactful in that turn!
