  • 1994. This program takes you on the 1,170-mile journey taken by the Nez Perce tribe in 1877. Pursued by the United States Army, 750 Nez Perce men, women, and children made a heroic yet futile flight seeking freedom and peace far from their homeland. The program highlights the need to preserve and interpret this landscape of history.

it is forgotten by many, that some actually did make it all the way to Canada, under Chief White Bird's leadership. Amazing bravery & guile by this great tribe.

I like this video for its historic value and that they mention how the American Government agreed to give the Native people certain land, and then the Government lied and stole and murdered the Native people out of greed. That was what happened. Don't expect anything else in the Government.

There's an old Native saying that goes, "Only a government could cut 2 inches off of a blanket, sew it onto the other side and say that the blanket is 2 inches longer." Haha

I'm not indigenous but I did grow up on the Nez Perce rez on the clearwater. Those valleys and canyons are special, they'll always be my home no matter where I go. I think we could all learn something from the Nez Perce and their culture of respect for people and the earth. We probably wouldn't be in the mess we're in today that's for sure.

Native American genocide at the hands of US government must be recognized.

    • @0IIIIII

It’s not genocide. Genocide is killing people on purpose. US never had a policy of killing off natives. Incidents like Wounded Knee was NOT US policy, it was a rogue action

This and so many other accounts of OUR beautiful true American brothers and sisters brings me to tears. Why and how did the planet have this occur? What does it mean to humanity? The Christian emblem is a human nailed to a wood structure; certainly a warning of much evil to follow. The white settlers used this disgusting image of a dying or dead man on this wooden frame as reason to kill millions of people beginning with OUR most beautiful close and wise relatives. Nagasaki, Hiroshima, North Korea, Vietnam,
Panama, Czechoslovakia, Iraq, Libya, Syria........the dead man on the wooden frame makes the swastika look like a symbol of peace ( which ironically it is.....in reverse of course! ) . I guess the irony of all is that the dead man on the wooden frame, one of the first great human activists; was assassinated for challenging a corrupt BANKING SYSTEM that relied on the duping and exploitation of healthy minded humanity.
Interestingly, Christians, in almost a 100% cases have no idea what Christian philosophy is; with readings of St Augustine, Marcus Auralius, Thomas Aquinas, Thomas A'Kempes.......and many 19th century philosophers......Spinoza & co. Very simply the equation is:
WE ARE KILLING AND MURDERING YOU ALL BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT WE DO AND HAVE ALWAYS DONE. Chris Columbus..... just one of us....no problem....why do we hate Nazis? we don't want competition; we have out done them by far anyway; dropping the bombs even had Adolf Hitler ask " how could they have done that?"
The foundation of the most profound human enquiry, observation and intelligence for me at least has come from the great Indian American chiefs and leaders.
    Humbly I am a white European....from India.

Oregon has a shape like an eye on the map looking east an Montana has face looking back. We see only dimly as through a glass and what we are to become is not certain but when Christ our hope shall appear we shall appear and we shall be like him. God Bless the Nez Perce.

A few yrs. back part of the Willamette Valley, in OR. was given back to the Nez Perce tribe there. Several of the ranchers (white) gave part of their land to the great grandson of Joseph. He deals with many affairs of my people. He goes to DC and starts to stir the pot a bit. : ) It was the decision of the ranchers to do so.

Conquest has been constant in human history, ever since humans have existed. Every group of people that have existed, if strong enough, and including American Indian tribes, have engaged in conquest, killing each other for land and resources. Territorial species do the same thing in the animal world-always have, and always will, following the laws of nature. Comments below seem to lay all of this at the feet of American settlers of European ancestry. You see this same fallacy promoted with slavery, which like conquest, has always been, and still is a part of human history going back tens of thousands of years, with participation by all races. Laying responsibility for these behaviors on whites is plainly ignorant of history, as well as hypocritical of any group who chooses to point fingers at another. The Indians committed their share of horrors and unfathomable cruelty against white settlers-torturing, murdering, raping, and taking women and children as slaves. Hardy innocent...It's sad for one group when a battle of conquest is lost, but these conflicts existed long before whites arrived in the Americas. To say otherwise only demonstrates ignorance of world history.

What the USA government did to the real owners of that land was a crime. They used the movie industry to show them as savage people, when the savage was the army and the Greedy people in DC.

So, if your prediction that dire circumstances will happen for the white man as punishment, which white men will suffer? And which will go free? If you say all people are brothers and sisters who are the guilty ones? It seems like to me you are looking at this as a simple black and white problem. To me, there are too many gray areas.

    • @day-goneknights4464
      @day-goneknights4464 5 ปีที่แล้ว

The white man? Yes, true. But only the non elite whites. The elite whites, along with other industrial ruling elites, will always rule. Agenda 21 will use the excuse of broken treaties to return property to ondegenoys people's. Then the elites off agenda 21 will kill/punish all non elites. It is not white people vs. others, it is industrial elites vs non elites. Stupid white peoe and folk like yourself cannot even identify correct enemies. Good luck.
