We have RE & SH back then, but PE was something very special back in those days a perfect blending between survior horror & RPG, creepiness & Squaresoft's Grande, and mood & tone is very beautiful, very feminist & women empowerment, ahead of those day. better than today "Woke" media by several levels

I wanted it because of squaresoft(Being my first experience with a squaresoft game was FF7) was on the case, and the employer there let me play the beginning of it to see if I liked it. Talk about being so fucking impressed with the visuals, mystery of the story, it being a horror game, and crazy part, the tv was on mute. My mom asked me did I want it, I said YES! That was a long ride home, the whole time, I’m in the backseat looking at the case front and back. I was 8yo at the time.
Good for you. People burning to death at the theatre traumatized me as kid. I watched someone playing it. I remember having nightmares about those burnt corpses you see at the backstage.

It is an awesome game but had for me when I was 11, the most frustrating final boss. Beating him was a challenge but doable after figuring out what to do... Running away was the part that always got me, in particular when you shift screens and accidentally press the wrong direction, go back to last screen and you instantly die...never made it to Chrysler building but otherwise yes, my favorite on ps1
@@keobutbutt if you didn't know PSP has PS1 emulator built inside These days you can hack your PSP to pirate all your fav PS1 stuff to the PSP since the PSN is closed for PSP. Also all PS3s can play PS1 discs that's how I play my PS1 stuff it looks really clean and upscaled on a PS3

Aya brea = the female Cloud strife!! 🤩 my sibs and i were late to the party in playing this. This came out 1998 and we played it around late 1999 or 2000. I was in the 7th or 8th grade and we were studying cells in science class. Well this game helped me understand and apply what I learned with mitochondria as the game seems to provide you a crash course in cell biology 😅

You could try an emulator. An original copy of the game is VERY hard to find, unfortunately nowadays, and even if you do find one, it will probably be very expensive. 😅
If capcom doesn’t remake this game then I will I will ask permission and don’t worry I will listen to fan but also add so twiks to make it morder with the graphics but I want to keep the combat system and the scary story I am not going to change the story in anyway full blows remaster/ remake

That shot of jets zooming past the intersection at 0:49 was always the coolest part of this intro for me.
Honestly, i got a PS1 for FF7 but when this came out, I was all over it. One of my favorite PS1 titles ever as a kid.
