Dear eNCA, Let me tell you as someone who has been directly impacted by yesterdays happening... I can understand where the "SGB" (I am putting these in inverted commas for a reason) is coming from and the safety of our kids are of the highest priority and they feel like they are being pushed from pillar to post and possibly acted out of frustration - Kudos to that...lets flip the coin.... From what my understanding is, the "SGB" act in the best interest of the children. Now, tell me how does closing the school on the day of the school re-opening without ALL parents' knowledge constitute as best interest? Some kids were dropped off at school with no way of getting back home. Did the "SGB" consider this? Some learners parents had to cut a workday short without pay for the day, some already experiencing challenges at work. Did the "SGB" consider this? Some children returned home with NO adults being home because or the extremely poor conduct by the "SGB"...did they consider that? HOW!? I beg you HOW is this the best interest of our kids, there is a reactive way of doing things and a proactive way, they were obviously going for the former instead of latter. They then try to justify their stunt by saying they sent a message on Facebook? Pindene Primary is a No-fees government school, with more than half of the parents being hardworking citizens with little to no luxuries such as Facebook. In my opinion - those two aunties and the WHOLE of the "SGB" owe ALL parents a public apology. I fear Pinedene may not only have trouble with the Government getting the school fixed but may have to look at re-electing a new "SGB' because if you are telling me, when they were busy having their meeting about closing school and NOT ONE parent posed the above issues, then I question their competence. And if yesterday was a spur of the moment decision then I question it even more so. And what a "conincidence" that this is all happening so close to elections...
I've got something to add to this unsafe school my child came home yesterday 24/08/2022 and told me she found two bugs in her food. June month he swolled that bug and vomited out at home I've told the teacher she said I must speak to the shcool about my concern
Memories 💓 I remember this day very Perfectly Pinedene Primary
Thanks Mrs Barends we appreciated it
