    LISTEN HERE: Based on this video + my research for my needs, "I just purchased". Me: 1/3 Acre in Massachussetts. 3 seed lawn: perrenial rye, kbg, creeping red fescue. So so tired of lawn waste at $3 per bag. Goal: to send it out to cut lawn every day ( might take 1.25 days ). Then, I will never have lawn clipping @ $3 per bag.
    I like the technology. It will be delivered tomorrow. I will come back for "performance update". Note: I watched this video, much and then evaluated rival tech, but you helped energize me.

    The setup method is really smart. I've considered getting a robot mower in the future, but knowing you have to physically bury a wire wherever you want it to mow really put me off. This is way simpler and way easier if you want to mow multiple different sections of lawn or if you move.

    Its about time someone used LiDAR in a mower like this. Only downside I could see to this mower is where the blades are under it in the middle. Its not going to get all the way to the edge without going outside its border to do so. What was your experience with it on this? Cant wait to see your opinion on the Luba.

    • @pestandlawnginja
      @pestandlawnginja  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These style mowers will require some weed eating here and there. There is an edge cut feature and with every update it's getting more dialed in. But as you mentioned, area where grass goes to the border of a fence or wall it cannot get that close.... but no machine can. Some will get slightly closer.

    How do you create zones? is it the same as creating a "no go" zone?
    I have sidewalk in front of my house and grass on the other side of the side walk, so I want the robot to be able to mow that section too, so I am trying to understand how this zone feature is setup. I know it handles multiple zones.
    If you wanted to make say your front yard a zone, the sides separate zones and the backyard a zone do you have to run those perimeters separately or do just include all those areas on your initial perimeter setup and then mark the zones within the app?
    Thanks for info you can provide.

    • @bikeny
      @bikeny 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I was thinking the same and was going to ask if I created say 3 sections of a 1/2 acre and had each section mowed on its own day, would that solve the size problem? I have a Starlink tower in the middle of my lawn so I can see the sky no problem, but I do like the idea of no RTK stuff. I don't know how steep my lawn is though, so that incline value might be a problem.
      But, w/r/t your video, do you think this creates donuts?

      So far no ruts. I'm really enjoying the lidar. But you still have ro pick things up out of the yard.
      The mower does roughly 10,000 sq ft per day but I feel like the limitations is the lidar area making of 70 meters. If you look at the map I published I can see all 4 of my neighbors property. My property is the center and is small. It's about .22 of am acre. So I feel like the half acre limitations may be the Achilles heal in your situation

    • @Crazypostman
      @Crazypostman 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pestandlawnginja Yeah I was amazed how far the lidar picked things up! but just my front yard is 35,000ft² Luba takes about 10 hours on that at full speed. If this one can only do 10k a day probably couldn't keep it up, I would have to have a bigger model. I wonder if they have plans for a larger one?

      It’s really a good price if it really works. Most city suburban houses have less than 500 sqm. That’s a massive demographic who are willing to pay. I am waiting for more feedback on those product before throwing away my husqvarna. Not having to install perimeter wire and not worrying about satellites is a big plus. I have a super important question!!!!!
    I am killing poison ivy that is on cut up tree wood that we need to burn that have been just sitting outside. Since we will burn the wood in our fire pit, I am going to kill the poison with 30%vinegar so I am not burning dried up round up on the wood.
    My question is, when I get the time in the fall to reseed, can I use 30%vinegar to kill off my grass and weed salad bar of a backyard, then scarify/mow up the dead stuff and reseed? Or will the vinegar left in the soil prevent germination? I was thinking spray, wait a week, respray, wait another week, then mow/scarify/spread new dirt and seed, just wanted your thoughts on using something more natural to still kill everything off? Thank you!!!

    • @pestandlawnginja
      @pestandlawnginja  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The vinegar solution kills soil beneficial micros and bacteria. You'll need to scrape the top and replace the dirt if you want to re plant sooner than later. It increases the soil acidity too and sterilizes the soil.
      It may or may not be a quick enough solution to get all the way through the roots as well. Not a route I would take personally

    • @lizzycarman601
      @lizzycarman601 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@pestandlawnginja Oh I am going to put down about 100 bags of soil, bags are cheaper here than a truckload after delivery. Spread all that out, seed, then starter fert as well. @@aquastealth that's awesome -- does it have a bumper? or does it just not hit anything at all? I have a luba 2 currently but it's a bit clunky between my home and my next door neighbor's home, because of the lower level of satellite signal.

      I have a few Dreame vacuums and they've been fine. Not great, but ok. I bought them mostly based on cost and features so I was excited about getting a mower.....until I saw the $2500 price tag.

    • @shoerhino
      @shoerhino 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The segway naivmow comes to mind. $1300 for .25 acres and $999 for .125 acres. Uses the Antenna system but seems like a better value. In your opinion, what would the Dreame do better if both were setup and operating properly for the extra $700? It would mow more lawn, granted, but seems comparable on features.
      I will say that I've been an early adopter of Dreame vacuums and its been a mixed experience. I have two Dream vacuums. One vacuum I had was defective out of the box and had to be returned. It would just spin in circles trying to build a map of the house. Replacement vacuum was alright but still sometimes doesn't dock consistently. Not sure what's up with that one. The other Dream vacuum I have has been great.
