Wow, I just realized this video was uploaded to TH-cam about the exact day I picked my 2018 780 up lol. Loving it man. Can’t go wrong with their comfort! I may just be a company driver, but I’m fortunate enough to be driving an owner op spec 780. Great trucks!

She's a beauty. I just got a new tractor unit a Mercedes Actros and it has active cruise control. It can drive through rush hour traffic and I never need to touch gears brake or gas pedal. Only thing I've got to do is steer. Amazing technology. I'll be honest it took me a while to trust it but if traffic is braking to a stop in front of me the truck will stop without me doing a thing and when traffic starts moving again I tap gas pedal and truck will get back up to speed. It has many other amazing features like airbags and stuff but don't want to bore you. Cheers. 🍻👍

Looks nice. If you’re not in a Custom sleeper. The automatic trans have come a long way. I’m on a class 8 straight, I’m sure pulling a 53 footer would be a very different feel. Nice job

I’m pretty sure the “T” kenworth’s. Volvo is VNL 780. But that said, I’m in a ‘17 780, and it is my first “automated manual” in 20 years, and I’m very pleased with it. I don’t miss the shifting like I thought I would.

Yea I use to hate autos, but these I-shifts in these Volvo’s are nothing like traditional autos. They are the best auto I’ve driven.

Yeah I know the lure of the big new shiney thing. I'm going to stick to my plan of buying a used truck in cash that I own and have my own diesel mechanic to do all the work I need. That lease business with those high payments and maintenance accounts ain't my cup of tea. I'll put aside my own money into my own account for maintenance and let me collect the interest!

Marcel Blake That's the older 6xx series Volvo's....the newer 780 and now the 860 are super easy. VOLVO has made hundreds of improvements.

lizwithmyfam bam tell him to drive the Volvo I-shift auto...he will have a different opinion. Volvo 12spd Automatic is different than anybody else. It brakes easier, shifts smoother, better fuel MPG, active cruise control system..never touch gears...

I hate automatics except for the volvo I shift It don't play games aka fucking around of what gear do I want to use? IT JUST FUCKING GOES LIKE SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT and another thing if you are high idling for 30 to 60 min it will sense this and drop to 800 rpm and go to an clean idle to protect the emission system the volvo I drove was a penske unit around 2011 2012 it had def

Well that's a nice truck but I don't like the unresponsiveness of the automatics, especially in snow ❄️ I drive a 2006 Peterbilt, and it gets beat to shit on a daily basis, no matter how much I baby it. Delivering freight out to the gold mines is similar to driving logging trucks. You will never see a truck like that driving to the places I go, but occasionally I do and I laugh my ass off 😂
