Here's the finale for Roosevelt Rd/IL Route 38 EB ending in Chicago! We pass between the numerous mom and pop stores, restaurants, and the Turano Bakery between Berwyn and Oak Park and then pass between old warehouses in Cicero and the start of Chicago's West Side. After Cicero Ave (IL Route 50), we pass through the center of Chicago's West Side in the North Lawndale neighborhood before entering the Medical District around Damen Ave and Ogden Ave. After that my personal favorite part of this stretch of Roosevelt starts when we enter the UIC campus and cross the Dan Ryan Expy, the Metra and Amtrak Yards, and the Chicago River to get to the South Loop. We pass through the tallest buildings on this road while crossing famous Michigan Ave before we finally reach Lake Shore Drive, which is the end of this road!

that last stretch is significant to me as that is the last stretch of the Chicago Marathon turning off Michigan Avenue. We call it Mount Roosevelt although just a slight incline, after 25.9 miles though it may as well be Mount Everest

I know what you mean! I've run the Chicago Marathon twice and Mount Roosevelt is one of the hardest parts! But getting to the other side of it into the last turn is so rewarding!
