When the story was eventually labelled a trollpasta, the creator threw a hissyfit, saying stuff along the lines of "You don't get it!" and "You don't understand my masterpiece!" The creator intended Sonic.exe to be scary, but it's pretty much a joke nowadays.
The lava mechanic relating to how luigi died via being pushed into lava by the super cape is just so clever and adds the scare factor when you get the reference
This song is just pure fan service. From the eyeless Boos to the words "I Hate You" being written in blood in the background. Even the Drowned Marios that appear near the end. Pure Bliss the whole way through.

I personally think that goes more to burning hatred, even if it's unreleased for now: This song sounds strangely "hopeful" and "alive" as opposed to the rotten burning corpse right beside you- It's such a masterpiece how this plays out, how it ramps up in octaves peaking in the middle and gradually goes back down at the end.. It feels more like luigi isn't mad at Boyfriend specifically, or that's just the impression i got. This whole stage was a masterpiece all the way, from the lava mechanic to the bg visuals, just.. yeah. I love this. Goes hard

This and Power Down are my two favorites from this mod, the emotion from both of them reflect the origin extremely well! I've always had a mild interest in the I Hate You creepypasta/romhack, so seeing it represented in something like FNF, along with several references to the romhack itself, makes me happy :)
I swear that there is something with 0:59 that feels like Luigi is singing something like “are you proud?” “Did you accomplish anything?” Luigi’s hatred for his brother is very well crossed over to his track. Kudos to the artist

The first of the Luigi songs, this one is definitely Top 3 for me. It’s a huge love later to the I HATE YOU pasta and the lava, the thing that killed him being the mechanic is ingenious. Also, GF in the Mario costume is pretty cute!
1:50 The long notes of Luigi and Bf in this part hits Hard ngl, and the fact that it has motif of the first Overworld theme of SMW makes it better. Respect to Luigi for having fire bars and his full body even tho my man litearlly fell into a fucking lava. My favorite song of the mod alongside with Power Down and Race Traitors.
There's something about this particular song. Each time I listen to a song, sometimes my brain doesn't comprehend how good it is at the moment simply because I get distracted or something. But, hearing it now, it's literally a perfect reflection of the "IHateYou" creepypasta it's based on. It's both a song of Luigi revealing himself to be working for Bowser this whole time, a song of taunting Mario, but also a song of deep, horrible betrayal between both brothers, the TRUE story and tragic tale of "IHateYou". It brings every bit back of the creepypasta to see this thing unfold. The drowned Marios, the eyeless Boos, I'm surprised they didn't bring in the Blood Bills, but the "I HATE YOU" written on the wall makes up for it well. Even that scream at the end feels horrible as you can imagine Luigi drowning in the lava, screaming for help, pain, and death.... A masterful job for the composers of this mod and the entire thing in general!
as someone who knew the original i hate you.exe story when i was like 10 or 9 and liked it, this brings me both immense joy and nostalgia back to a time where i both look at fondly... and also get worried about. this is about the best thing i could've asked for, the creators did a good job on this one :)

After playing this, I have a cool idea for the song. What if Luigi was floating in the lava. Hear me out. There are 10 switches in the background. The song will occasionally throw in switch notes, and hitting one will flip one of the 10 switches in the background. If all ten switches are flipped, (the lava rises a little bit for each switch flipped) the lava rises all the way, and Luigi drags Boyfriend into the lava with him (separate game over screen.) This could be incorporated into v2.
That would be really cool, but not really a .exe kind of horror story, wouldn't you say? I'd imagine if something like Mario and the music box we're to be added it would have to be his own mod to truly do that game justice.

If you think about it. Luigi really isn't that evil or scary in this mod. In the creepypasta he was just revealed to be working with bowser before being kicked into lava. He doesn't have any sort of super Natural godlike power either other then normal mario shit. And as far as I know he's not actually dead,just severely burned by the lava. Besides really hating mario he seems pretty normal tbh

I hate you has always been my personal favorite Mario creepypasta, there’s no haunted game, or hyper-realistic gore. This is just a F-ed up rom somebody randomly found, and shared to the internet. And the rom made for the story, that you could download where the OG story was posted made it all the better. It also helps that I have heavy nostalgia for World, with it being my favorite classic Mario game to this day.

Is it bad I just now realized that I Hate You as a creepypasta is more or less a reference to Star Wars Episode 3? -Protagonist battles his best friend/brother next to/over a pit of lava -Protagonist deals the final blow, knocking their opponent into/next to the pit of lava -Opponent gets near-fatally burned and somehow survives, all while screaming how much they hate the protagonist, who used to view them as a brother/was their brother.
Is it just me or does this one just sound so….sinister in comparison to the rest of the songs in the mod? You can almost feel the genuine hatred Luigi has.
At the end of the song, you can faintly hear the screaming of "Nooooooooooo", presumably the last bit of Luigi screaming "OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!" As it was so faint in the original, it's made explicitly clear in the new version
the lava is extra in fnf mario madness because is there to make the arrows less hitable and dosent give you time because you cant see the arrows because of da lava!

For a song called, "I Hate You" it's really awesome, I love the character design and the song is a banger, I love it.

I hate you has always been my personal favorite Mario creepypasta, there’s no haunted game, or hyper-realistic gore. This is just a F-ed up rom somebody randomly found, and shared to the internet. And the rom made for the story, that you could download where the OG story was posted made it all the better. It also helps that I have heavy nostalgia for World, with it being my favorite classic Mario game to this day.
I love the faint mario theme hidden in the song near the end I love when melodies that reflects the mods sorce material are in the music it's just so cool

Man poor luigi. He started working for bowser in spite of his brother, who always took the spotlight. If you saw the original creepypasta you'd remember that mario cries after he defeats luigi, and that's so damn sad. They could've just talked it out from the beginning, before Luigi's hate built up beyond the point of no return. If he had just let mario know, he could have avoided his terrible fate
