Have you been to TMS since the fan amenity upgrades? Bar that stretches all along the front stretch, tables at your seats, the Busch bar, food and drink areas with TVs under the stands, it’s all pretty awesome. More that a D tier at least.
Fun fact, I have been to 3 NASCAR races. 2022 Dover, 2023 Dover, and 2023 Coca Cola 600. Observant people will note how all three of those races were delayed due to rain. For the sake of the community and the sport I have decided to stop attending races in person.
Your first race was Texas 2005. My first race was Riverside Raceway in 1987 favorite track the old configuration at Phoenix with the dog leg and the bridge overhanging turn 4
I went to Martinsville this year and we got there a little late, just half an hour before the green- but the lines were super long already because there’s only one or two ways to get in, but what’s even weirder is how the stands are never filled there yet the lines are still terrible
Haven't been to a NASCAR race since I was a young kid in the early 2000s and ever since they started running COTA, my dad and I have gone every year and plan on continuing to go. Only 20 minutes from where we live it's such a fun day there.
Martinsville is top tier for me- closest to home, at 3 hours away, but a must visit track for me every year. Charlotte gets high marks as well, mostly because they've always done a lot to help my dad, who's disabled, get to and from the track with ease.
Amazing tier list Dover in my opinion is a very underrated in person experience it has a great atmosphere and you are pretty much on top of the action, might be biased though since I live 15 minutes away
Dover is my home track as well and it’s insanely underrated. It is THE most unique track on the schedule with an awesome atmosphere. I mean the place looks more packed on Mondays than some tracks do now on Sundays. Of course they’ve removed a lot of seats but what track hasn’t? It’s a great experience.
Dover is so unrated it isn’t funny. I live next to Pocono and would rather go to Dover any day. The cars travel so fast through the turns, you’d never know by watching it on tv. You can see the whole track as well so it is fun to watch.
@swidel12 not at all I like Gateway just haven't seen an in person race plus I think it would be better as a night race for Cup and Trucks like it used to be in the truck series when it opened the playoffs.
I would put Chicago in C tier for a lot of the same reasons you put the Coliseum there - bag policy, expensive concessions (along with being extremely understaffed, not exactly their fault) and the value for the price was just not there this year. I agree, I left impressed but Nashville and Gateway had wayyyyyy more for much less.
I’ve been to every single race at New Hampshire since 1998, I live less than a half hour away from the track so that helps. My sister works for Sylvania and when they sponsored the race and she got tickets she always brought me with her and I would buy tickets for the other races there each year.
What if *. The 4 th of July street race was roving , A different city every year , city’s that don’t have a track, Niagara Falls next year then Denver , Boston and so on .
Never been to a race before despite being a hardcore fan for 6 years and a casual fan for 15. Hoping to change that this year! I'm in Rockford IL. I plan on visiting Gateway and/or IRP. I don't share your excitement for the Chicago Street race and really wanna see Chicagoland speedway return but for now Gateway and IRP it is. Completely agree with your rankings!
I'm staying on my point that Nascar isn't giving Homestead the finale because of the at track fan experience. I think i heard from RadMan ( or Eric ) that the track doesn't have wifi in the infield, they would need to give what they did to daytona at this point.
Honestly I don’t like homestead. I’d much rather see Kansas, Vegas, or Charlotte if we’re doing 1 1/2 miles. I don’t even know if it’s better than Phoenix. It’s the Kyle Larson playground and it’s not super entertaining
Bristol is the best venue I've attended. I have yearly tickets for the night race and it is amazing. Daytona is a close second for me and I've been privileged to go to both
You have to make it to the Glenn it’s a spectacular race track and a even better experience people are great beer is cold and the laughter and memories last forever hope to see you there Eric
Any plans to visit New Hampshire Motor Speedway? That's the nearest track to where I live, and I have been there for both summer and fall dates (when there was a fall date) quite a few times.
If you ever get a chance come to Dover. The facilities are not the best, but the racing is significantly better in person than on TV. Cars running pretty much any line on the track that's available. The only downright bad races I've seen there were the 2019 races with the high downforce package. Those were the worst races I have ever seen in my entire life.
One of my favorites, partially since it's my home track (I was born a couple hours from it), is Richmond. I don't know if you have any plans in the near future to see a race there, but I hope you do someday. Unfortunately I've never been to it (or any track) in my life, but I would love to see at least one race there.
You can't believe that tracks like Kansas or Atlanta wouldn't host Eric with free suites tickets, hotel, and airfare just for their exposure on his channel. That says something about the people running those tracks and their connection to modern advertising. You give Eric some free Martinsville hotdogs and he'll talk about them for years. It's a great investment.
I've been to Daytona, Bristol, Talladega, Martinsville, Texas, Nashville SS, and the Nashville Fairgrounds. Plus I've also been to the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the inaugural Nashville Indycar Music City GP.
I had been to Texas every year from 2000-2019 and once more in 2021. It wasn't what it used to be. I live an hour from there it was the only track I could drive to to see NASCAR. The repave/reconfigure in 2017 ruined it. I had been to some races (both 2007 and the fall 2010 races) I couldn't sit down the last half of it, they were so exciting. I went to Kansas the year Keselowski won on fuel milage, hottest and most miserable race experience of my life, which is why they have lights now. I've been to Michigan twice, having all access pit passes for a weekend for $40 was worth flying a thousand miles from home, great facility and I went to 2 races that were actually pretty good, and the only other track I went to was Homestead, in '09, race was on my birthday. I liked the track, getting to see the champion crowned in person was pretty awesome, but I didn't have any pit or garage passes, I would like to go give it another chance.
I live 30 minutes from Dover, and I wish the date could be moved to September (less rain that time of year). That used to be the second date, and the race was always better. I am a fan of most tracks, only getting one date to give races to other markets. Plus one race tracks are always packed full of fans!
Eric I agree with your current track rating, what year did you go to NASCAR Cup race at Indianapolis oval? You need to visit Atlanta and Charlotte Tracks. I haven’t seen the new Daytona but I was there before rising Display.
I’ve been to seven different tracks. Martinsville is one of the easiest tracks to get in & out of that I’ve been to. Also, being in the middle of no where is a HUGE perk. Kick back, enjoy the weekend track festivities. When nothing’s happening at the track. There’s a few things to occupy your time.
I would say if they were to relocate the championship race. I would like to see it come to north wilkesboro,Charlotte,Nashville or return it to homestead Miami.
If it comes to Charlotte it should be a 600 mile race, I'm down to see NWB take it away from Phoenix, or MASCAR returns it to Homestead. We can only hope fans don't buy tickets for the 2024 championship race so that any of those 3 scenarios can happen
I went to the Daytona 500 in 1995 . Sat about half way up on the front stretch and couldn’t see anything. For me it was the worst race as far as knowing what was going on that I’ve ever been to. Rockingham was my favorite track. I’ve been to at least 14 races there. But of the tracks they are still racing I love Darlington!
Definitely hope you see you at Iowa this year! I've only ever been to 2 cup races ever, and I wasn't taking the chance at missing out on Iowa with the chance this may be the only time Cup goes there
Daytona is my bucket list track for the 500 but. I would never pay the price for a ticket $175. Just for the lowest seats. I could go too 6 other races for the price i would pay to go there.
Honestly surprised you haven't been to Charlotte! Dega and Daytona are my top tracks of the 9 I've been too. Charlotte is up there too. I really enjoyed Dover also. Least favorite was Richmond.
As form Europe I just have been to Homestead, Disney, Daytona, Dover and Bristol. Dover is my favorite. In future I would like to visit Darlington, Chralotte (or Atlanta, or Texas, I wonder how the fast racing would look at high banked 1.5 mile track), Talladega and Indy!
Your video got me thinking. NASCAR is willing to drive across the country for the CLASH, why not check out some other , local, tracks and hold the Clash at them. 4 come to mind off hand. Monroe, Washington (former Craftsman Truck Track), Yakima, WA and Roseville, California, and Meridian, Idaho (K&N Track) They are small and I think that it would help raise the interest in small, local tracks. There are MANY good tracks across the country that NASCAR could use for this "Exhibition" style race
Daytona is DEF Groovy!!!!!! My home track!!!! Also, Homestead Miami is amazing. And a fun fact for you, the lake in homestead is a natural spring and that’s why they had to build around it!
I am cautiously optimistic that on track racing product is not a let down for my home track next year. I really hope they get the package and tire right for the Brickyard 400's big return. There is so much history there and the next gen brings so much potential for an awesome race on the rectangle!
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. Oh yes, for sure! I was at that race. It was the last race I attended in person. Then lost interest for, like, a decade. The one thing my friend and I enjoyed about the race itself were all the driver's frequencies on the scanner, and in particular Montoya's 😅
I was at the Martinsville spring weekend like you, that Truck race was stupid, but overall, it was a fun time! I saw you walking into the grandstands in the beginning of the Xfinity race, but I couldn’t actually meet you after the race 😭. I also saw you in the pits at the Cup race, it’s hilarious how tall you are😂. But if any viewers are reading this, sorry if I wasted your 1 minute.
Took my fiancé to Bristol in '22 and INSTANTLY turned her into a Nascar fan! We went again in '23 and we're going to our home track of Indy in '24 for the return of the Brickyard! Hopefully I'll make it to Darlington and Talladega soon!
I went to tracks this year. Poconos is ok. For facilities its alittle out of dated needs some upgrades or just maintenance. You need to go to world wide technology raceway its well run facility. Alot of activation as well the infiield access is awesome
Bristol is by far #1. I understand your opinion on Daytona and you are not wrong, they have upgraded the amenities quite a bit and you are right this is like going to the "Nascar Super Bowl". I would say having been to the 500 over 6 times the Daytona 500 is exactly like the Super Bowl and for whatever the Super Bowl is it's not typically where you find the best fan atmosphere, it's a great and unique race. If you have been a NASCAR fan for a bit the late summer Talladega race is a better atmosphere, it's a much more "Informed Race Crowd", the metaphor I would use is that 90% of the time the NFC or AFC Championship are a better game and much better atmosphere than the Super Bowl. My opinion best races to attend for a fan are Fall Bristol, Fall Martinsville and Summer Talladega, then Daytona, for that reason I would move Talladega to the top tier.
I recently heard the comments from Steve Phelps about track sellouts… based on his comments, Kansas and Richmond may lose one of their dates in the future and going back to only 1 date
Good they don't need to be going to some of these places twice. And cut back on the number of races. That is how you downsize. This is not the early or mid 2000's and Nascar is not the hottest thing going now.
i think we can all agree that air base speedway is s tier… the track produces great racing and their facilities are immaculate
Literally a 20 min drive from my house. my wife works down the street from the warehouses at a spinx 😁
I’m sure the flyover before the race is incredible
I beg to differ. Tiburon has the higher speeds
Bathrooms could use some work but that lighting is unreal seems like the sun is always out
@@S.K.R.E.Inc.amateur. Coca-Cola Speedway is based
Check out Watkins Glen in person next year. I went in 2015 and it was awesome.
You’ll definitely need to make the trip to Kansas next year! The infield is so so but the racing has been great with the next gen!

What a comment by DoctorElk lol
I did that at Fontana and it still rained during the night race
Can you go to Kansas speedway so maybe so of are crops can get rain
I’ve been to 2021 NH, 2023 Charlotte, and 2023 NH… as a KFB fan. I will also stop attending nascar races
The drive through the pocono mountains is pretty scenic and enjoyable. Highly recommend pocono!
Texas Motor Speedway was the first track I saw on TV, and it was in April 2011.
I have been to 12 different tracks now , but I have never been to the one thats considered my hometown track. Watkins glen. One hour 40 minutes away .

Hot dogs, man. Also the track's location may also be to blame
There’s five different entrances to get in. Unless you’re in Bill France tower. Then you’re stuck with just one.
@@S.K.R.E.Inc. those hot dogs aren’t even that good 😭
I've been to Texas Motor Speedway (2021 Cup races, and the 2023 Truck Race), and COTA (2022 Cup Race)
NEW Atlanta is amazing. See you there in Feb 2024!!
You were at the Michigan Race too? It was my first ever Nascar race also! I wish I could've seen you!

Yeah, SMI and NASCAR have different strategies at this point
Gateway is awesome Chicago street course sucks
Indianapolis as a NASCAR track in B tier is acceptable. Indianapolis for the Indy 500 is in a tier of its own.
I still can't believe that I went to a NASCAR race this year at Michigan International Speedway! I didn't care that it was raining buckets that day.
Gotta get to Charlotte soon Eric! Haven’t seen a bad race there yet and you can see most everything from any seat. Its sick!
My fav track. Only caught the may truck race this year. But it was great
