    I had the Ally ..returnrd it as the right trigger would not register most clicks.
    So i purchased the Legion Go, and its triggers work great but the joysticks have terrible deadzones, to the point where aiming is too jerky to get any accuracy.
    So i repurchased the Ally and will test this again to see if that right trigger issue is fixed.
    My take:
    I though the bigger screen was perect as well as 1600p -->800p being great at downsampled.
    But at 800p its far more blurry. It just can't push 1600p (native resolution) while the Ally's native resolution of 1080p was way more crisp.
    I really believe the Legion Go should have gone with a 1080p vrr screen, as Ally did.
    And there are way too many dips from 60+ fps to 20fps from software issues, and the lack of vrr is hurting that.
    One last thing:
    The Legion Go is really heavy and bulky for a handheld. It feels like holding a tablet or small laptop at times. Tge larger acreen is nice but damn, it gets uncomfortable fast.
    Ill be posting up a 3 way comparison this week of the Ally/Legion Go/Oled Steam Deck.
    I have no bias as im purchasing all of these.
    Btw: Great video! 👍

      I had a similar experience where I had issues with my Ally and returned it less than a week. Months later I purchased another one. With updates and better quality control. Im loving my Rog now. I ended up increasing the SSD in it to a 2tb. It was also extremely easy to do.

    From a real world user perception in which I prioritize fidelity. I bought the steam deck but could not get over how wash out the screen was so when I got the ally it further solidify my bias against the deck. However I still put it on the shelf next to my deck and really never played with it again. Fast forward on getting the legion the screen is just the perfect size and clarity which oddly draws me to playing it. So to each their own and ultimately all these system are the same in which they let you play your games on the go or in bed.

    Some people already have issues with sticks drifting on Rog Ally, and it's confirmed to have a useless SD Slot, and only have one USB port.
    I bought Lenovo Go instead as it uses Hall Effect Sticks, have bigger screen, better battery, screen suitable for messing around in Windows unlike the small screen on Ally, and other reasons.
    Sound volume problem can be adjusted in settings. Lenovo's roadmap says they fix the sound by default for everyone ASAP and a long list of other things. Lenovo is hard at work on this. I used Lenovo for days now and have no problems. I also added custom resolutions in the registry.

    • @LazyFaux5656
      @LazyFaux5656 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can’t make a device that’s projecting sound away from the user, all of a sudden project it towards the user. There is no fix for this hardware disadvantage.
      Hall effects are cool, but even Valve said they stayed away from them ‘cause they don’t see the true reliability in them.
      The Go is just a Legion Y700 tablet with controllers glued to the side.
      As someone who had the Go for 7 days before returning, all it had going for it was the screen being big.

The other turn offs are the rinky dinky 50 cent plastic they call a "kickstand" Are you serious?? Asus are cheap! They couldn't even be bothered to include a carrying case for a premium product! They are returning RMA devices back the customers that have the same heat problem over and over again! No trackpads! Why would you release a windows device without a mouse? Asus are cheap! I've owned the Steam Deck, Ally, OneXplayer 2 Pro, and now Legion Go. I think each of these devices are pretty great, but overall, I'm most satisfied with the Go by a small margin, and I've sold all the rest in favor of it. As someone who wants a full Windows experience (something I can use as a mobile PC to complement my desktop), I feel the Go accommodates this the best, most notably due to the combination of the 8.8" screen and the built-in touchpad and mouse (not to mention built-in kickstand). Using Windows on 7" screen as with the Deck and Ally just isn't ideal, and on top of that, the Ally lacks any touchpads while the Deck requires you to load Windows via SD card, leading to a noticeably laggier experience than the other two.
    Most of the Go's issues right now are on the software side and little different from the problems the Deck or Ally had at launch, and already a new update recrntly dropped fixing a number of these issues, so I feel confident in a month or two it'll follow the same path as the other devices. But on the hardware side, I find it hard to even compare as the Go just has so much more going for it. The only thing the Ally has on the Go is VRR, which, I will admit, is pretty fantastic and I wish the Go had it, as it would have made the Go pretty much indisputably the best and little reason to even consider the Ally over the Go. But, as it is, the Go still edges out the other devices for me even without the Ally's VRR.
    The Deck OLED looks great and really narrows the competition, but most of my reasons for choosing the Go over it still stand (particularly since the Deck OLED still has the same lower performance compared to the other two).
    Still, I think all of these devices are good enough that users would be satisfied with any of them and no real need to feel buyers' remorse either whichever they ended up with.

    You helped me make an informed decision. I already have the Steam Deck and while it's a good device, the performance lacks in games I like to play. Some of my games I can't play at all. The OLED screen of the revised Steam Deck made me purchase the Limited Edition Unit but, I'm going to cancel my order. The Lenovo Legion Go has many bells and whistles that cater to the type of gamer I am. The Lenovo screen is not OLED but the high resolution, large 8.8" size, color accuracy, 500 Nits and 144hz is good enough for me. Your display test won me over. The Z1 Extreme with DDR5 7500mhz is a win win. I'm getting it.

    If I HAD to pick between one of the two, I would pick the Legion Go for two reasons. It doesn't destroy your SD cards and if something happens to the controllers, which is highly likely if you use them, you should be able to replace them hustle free.

    dont really mean to be a hate, but for someone who says "if you want to be informed, watch me. If you want to be entertained, watch someone else", the fact you omit information simply because of "length of the video" is kinda hypocritical.
    but honestly, thanks for the info. was planning to get a portable PC for personal use.
    decided on the Ally thanks to this video.

    Is it possible to update the less functional software on legion GO to be as good as ally?

    • @StaccatoFry

      Yes eventually, the legion will be better. If you can wait, then wait, but for me the legion go is already the winner right nown

    Congrats for the excelent chanel !!!
    I have a few problems whit my Legion Go, and i need an advice if is posible. Thanks
    1. Scaling issues and Blurry Text in 900p resolution. Other res works superb whit a clear image.
    2. The OS frezee when tranfering files on the unit for a few miliseconds.
    3. Battlenet in asian language in their console interface.
    Many thanks for your help.

    • @Hubwood
      @Hubwood  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Scaling should be fixed soon. I guess you mean 800p? 900p would look blurry as it doesn't fit the native resolution in a good way.
      Don't know about battle net, but that can be fixed. I'm sure thwre are tutorials.
      I didn't encounter problem Nr. 2...

    LLG is better, hardware wise, but i like the VRR for ALLY. what i dont like about LLG is the.. brand. Lenovo devices is known to break easily, my experience at least, so i will hold off and see.

    So you are are saying to wait 1 or 2 weeks to see if the Legion Go performs as well as the Rog Ally? OK....this video was 3 weeks ago. How's it going?

    • @Hubwood
      @Hubwood  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's improving alot. They're constantly updating it. And theyre very open about their plans with the community. They post road maps on what will happen next. Many problems have been fixed. More will be fixed mit December and January. Like for example the Dead Zone and software issues. If they keep that up the go will be really awesome indeed.

      @@Hubwood thank you, I appreciate the reply. I will have a look online for a roadmap for the Go. I really hope it is a success. I'm currently trying to decide which to get between the 'big 3'. I guess my decision is being made hard because they are all good in their own way and all have different issues. The information I've gathered about the Go from various places online seem to be a short battery life but better than the Ally (can be improved with optimisation), uncomfortable to hold (at least could be fixed with different joyocn options), shitty button layout (being able to remap the start and option buttons to the top and better joycons?), slow charge (maybe can be improved with software?), up firing speakers (I would use headphones outside anyway), loud fans (fan curve optimisation), poor frontend software (this will improve I'm sure), thumbstick deadzones (software improvements) , no VRR (locked framerate to help with this?), pointless resolution for AAA titles (nice to have for media consumption and maybe lower demanding titles, I would have to see for myself), screen glare (anti glare screen protector?). Absolutely one to keep an eye on especially if Lenovo want to improve it. I absolutely love the idea of watching movies on this bigger screen while travelling and with the detachable joycons I don't have to hold it all flight.

    After tinkering with Ally i use it instead of Steam Deck, battery life is comparable to first revision switch (i squeezed out 3 hours out of more demanding games and 4-5 from less demanding ones). Overall great device and currently my primary system for everything.

    Seems for now the Ally is better, but both seem to have had the rug pulled out from them with the OLED Deck.

    • @Hubwood
      @Hubwood  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      OLED Deck is a different target group. Linux/Steam OS vs Windows and 4 cores vs 8. (casual vs performance geeks).
      The Steam Deck could be made out of gold and tell me I'm the greatest guy ever all day long, , I wouldn't use it because of the lack of windows. I prefer full compatibility. But that's just me! It's great that's it's perfect for so many people. Don't get me wrong :)

    • @CandysChannel
      @CandysChannel ปีที่แล้ว

      Not in my opinion. I wouldn’t choose the OLED SD ever over a windows handheld. It has the same resolution and more importantly the same old GPU. An OLED screen and 90 hz refresh isn’t going to be able to be what I need. I actually grew to hate Linux when I had my steam deck several months ago lol

    Спасибо за сравнение. Я лично отдаю своё предпочтение устройству с большим экраном та как семь дюймов слишком маленькая диагональ для ПК игр.
