Chatty says that cups is the problem but I think she sees it the other way around. I was thinking that when she brings back the character that she wanted to only have the cups personality after she had time to work on herself. He says he fell in love with Ray but the things he like about her are traits of cups so I am way lost now.

The Ray side was just scared, but the Cups side actively wanted to get rid of Ray, which is why Cups is the problem in Chatty's mind. Obviously she wouldn't see herself as the problem, but Cups was the one putting herself in danger.
Chatty likes the Cups traits because they are how Ray Mond is when she's fully happy and accepting herself, but at this point Cups wasn't accepting herself. She wanted to get rid of Ray, but Ray is her, and all the problems Ray had brought her to the point to become Cups, she had to be that way to move forward. Even though they see each other as separate, to Chatty they're two sides of one person he loves.
Rae has said that Ray and Cups will be merged into one person again when she comes back.
I think Chatty uno reversed her in a way Ray/Cups didnt expect. Cups is frustrated and getting more volatile the longer she is bottled up. Shes the one not giving Ray time to adapt. Chatty clocked that Ray will always become Cups, but Cups killing Ray is destroying part of herself. Ray just needs time to accept & become Cups... which Cups wont allow.
