    Memory trick for the calcification dates:
    I remember the years, A.D. vs B.C. and the last one is E as in Eighteen (18) which is the last number in the 18 weeks in utero timeline. So A>D>B>C>E, hopefully this helps. Thank you Ryan! :)

    Dr. Ryan, your lectures are brilliant. Another way to remember the eruption times with a few exceptions would be : „Start with the 6-year molar“ add +1 for each erupting tooth number . e.g. in case of the first premolar 4+6 = 10 yrs. the canines and third molars are the exception though. Greetings from Austria.

    In a developing crown, ameloblasts and odontoblast
    A. are polarized in opposite directions.
    B. initially produce an organic nonmineralized matrix.
    C. begin to produce matrix simultaneously
    D. have rapid cell division.
    hi Rayan we learn from the video that ameloblast and dentoblast will be beside each other so i will assume A IS CORRECT
    but also you mention that they start to form organic matrix amelogenin and collagen so B should be correct also
    what do you think the right answer this question come before its released

    • @mentaldental
      @mentaldental  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would go with A, since the nuclei of both cell types are clearly polarized in opposite directions--there is no debating that. One could debate the state of mineralization of dentin when it is first laid down, so I would go with A here.

    • @mentaldental
      @mentaldental  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a bit confusing, but tooth #4 (Universal system) is a second premolar, but an upper 4 (Palmer system) is a first premolar because it is the fourth tooth over from the midline.

      Not quite! Primary teeth follow the 1/2 rule. Primary teeth tend to pierce the gum when half of their root development is complete. And it takes 1-2 years for a primary tooth to complete its root development.

    Ryan. I failed my clinical boards by 3 points. I taken them four times in different states. This was different. The control of patient selection was taken. I was given a manakin with plastic gums, synthetic calcalus. No x rays of root structure and no tissue or inflammation to guide me. The ultrasonic was compromised by magnetic interference from magnets which held the typodont onto the dummy. The power could not be adjusted. The calcalus on my manakin was burnished in. I would never choose a patient with that type of debris. Back to ultrasonics. I figure ultrasonics are contraindicated with un protected pace makers. The largest magnet wins.
    Ok. I failed. I’ll retake the test and pay the fee. I have written to the CDCE about my concerns. This is larger than me. This could e a situation that causes thousands of dollars in Instrument damages..if I am correct. They should pass me for my observations. My practice strengths over 35 years is patient management motivation and behavior changes. I love my profession. I want my license back soon when my aging Mother expires I can, with a US license go to Dharmsala Nadia. Maybe Ethiopia and help wrk or set up a dental hygiene school fir peoples s poor. Without care. Money has never been my strongest motivation. Helping others has. I teach every patient that sits in my chair.
    THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXCELLENT WORK. YOUR THE BEST.
