Silvanus Clarke and that is ok brotha. When you here about this mans life and the things he was doing that the media doesn’t talk about it let’s you know he was a genuine person. I don’t have to know good people to feel like I “know” good people. It’s something that’s there and you can appreciate.

The sad part is he was soo disrespected the last few years. People changed the narrative and tried saying lebron was better then kob since 2006. You can actually find clips of multiple analyst saying it was lebrons league since 06. Kobe and jordan are the the goats and then you can have argument about the rest. Moss is right about the politics no one on tv actually believed lebron was better then kobe that's why you always heard players saying kobe was the best they ever played against.

Kobe did it with more ease and grace against more athletic and skillfull players. Kobe can go it alone and still will his team to victory. Remember the multiple iconic games against Toronto, New York, Dallas and the game winner against LeBron's Cleveland in '06 I think. Kobe definitely was the most revered and feared player in the league ever. He was the most unstoppable offensive juggernaut the world had ever seen. La Mamba Negra was a killer in offense and struck deadlier in defense. Kobe reigned supreme in the most skilled and athletic era in the Nba. He took all challengers and never for once took a back seat. He was transcendent. He was legendary. He was the ultimate competitor and the Greatest player of all time!

Kobe's lasting legacy is that his message transcends basketball. It's not to say that he was bigger than the game, because basketball was the vehicle for his gospel of excellence, which starts with belief in yourself. From there, it's a matter of developing a tireless work ethic that moves you ever closer to your dreams and full potential. Eventually the realization kicks in that dreams and milestones can be achieved along the way, but full potential is found in the journey, a journey that never ends, because your potential is limitless. Kobe embodied that with every breath he took as a living testament to what is possible. Yeah, it's alright to get emotional about that, because it goes very deep and says something about the essence of who and what we are and why we're here. If that doesn't touch you in some way right now, I hope some day it will.

I remember vividly when I first saw Kobe Bryant playing I was in the barbershop in NYC, watching the T.V. and I said to the other people in the shop that this guy plays just like Michael Jordan and I had chills and my hairs on my arms raised, I kept saying this is a bad boy and he's going be a superstar, it was shortly after Nixon's, Magic, Kareem, Wilkes, Worthy era, I just said WOW, because he was such a young guy I knew he was something special, I just didn't think he could carry that franchise and certainly didn't think Kobe would take the Laker's to win another five championships. Kobe Bryant was very intelligent that's what impressed me about him, he was smart enough to know if he was going be successful he would have to model himself after the best player ever, he was just a very efficient player and thinker. I remembered Michael Jordan at the time was with Washington Wizards and Kobe Bryant with the Lakers played against each other and Kobe stole the ball from Michael and came down and scored I said to myself I know Michael ain't going let's him get away with that, I was hot because he was someone that I revered as the best player ever and I was right Michael stole the ball from Kobe and scored, this was a glimpse into the competitive mindset of both players, and while the game was being played my mind went right back to when I first saw him play and I said this guy is fearless and believed he was better then Michael and that he belong on that court with the best that when I said he was a special and transformative ball player, I didn't know what the black mamba meant and look it up and I saw what the meaning was I said this guy did it again I said WOW, that is who he is and as usual he kept challenging himself and when he retired he found innovative ways to expand and grow, he kept push the boundaries. What endear him to me more than his basketball prowess was his humanity, empathy and that beautiful smile when he would see young kids or when I would hear him talk about the responsibility we have to make the world a better place and despite his humans flaws he still tried to do what he could to empower us through his example.
Thank you my friend and I thank G-d for loaning you to us for a period of time and may you find the ultimate peace.
