For me anything 4" or tighter makes me happy, I'm 71, and not nearly as steady as I once was. I like single Action large cal. Revolvers (.45 colt, .44 mag Ruger blackhawk(original model). Also you can never totally eliminate the human factor, unless you clamp the gun in some fashion, and that's just not practical.... Oh, yeah I should mention I'm more of a Knife and Blade guy, hope to see more of your demo's on that subject matter....glade to see you back in action, healing up, and healthy....Yay!!!! Tacs back!!
Tac, it's usually just ammo. 4" groups with a pistol is all you need to reliably hit at 12-15 yards. The slightest flinch makes for 4-5 inches. People will argue this up and down, but it's not meant for long range fighting. It's made for fighting your way back to the rifle you should have never left. If you really want to see how much you're moving, get a red dot. Those things will show you JUST how much you're wiggling. Your hand issues might have had a lot to play into it.
I compete in both timed and man-against-man type matches. If I buy a pistol and test it from a bench, a 2 inch group or tighter usually makes me happy. Glad to see your hands are healing up, buddy!
It's all about "Hand Eye Coordination" If your hand is messed up, then it will affect your accuracy. If your eyes are messed up, ditto. Your hands and eyes must work together.
Bro, some of those guns you mentioned like the Ruger 45 ACP are SUPER accurate, same with the GP-100. I believe you just got a lot better. Shooting off the bench is not a guarantee of greater accuracy because you still have trigger control, sight alignment, breathing, etc. to deal with. 1" at 15 yards would be very good, at the very least you should be able to put all your rounds into a 2" to 3" circle if you want to be considered "accurate" IMHO.
Always good to see you Tac, I think it's the right mix of good guns, ammo and good triggers. or you can always blame your old age for better shooting ... like I do 🙃
You are getting better. As far a group size at 15yds, I can’t put a number to it. If I am shooting a revolver with a 6 inch plus barrel it better be clover leafing. If I can shoot a Glock 2” I’m happy. I’m a trigger snob, if I got a gun with an excellent trigger I will do well.
Match grade pistol is "2 at 25 yards. 2-3" at 15 is fine, different ammo will vary in accuracy. If it does 2-3" that is about what a handgun should do. The most accurate stock pistol I have is CZ 75, Revolver Redhawk 7.5". On any given day results may vary except for Jerry Miculek.
My spread varies dependent upon factors like the width of the car hood I dive roll over and how long after landing I have to shoot. The double legged door breach while double fisting blazing Springfield XD40's gets sloppy on the grouping, too. I can nail the superhero landing, though. Uh-huhh. Yeppers...
Ruger seems to have a knack for natural point and shoot pistols. You are right. My favorite is the ruger lcr in .357. you wouldnt think a snub nose would be super accurate but it is. Also, it really shoots easy in .357. just saying. Kel Tec p17 is another winner, or their cp33 with the extended mags that give you two sticks of 50.
Hey brother. I noticed a drift with my hunting rifle, I know not a pistol, But I was getting about a 4 inch high left bullet drift as I shot. I talked to the local gun smith, Here is what he told me. As the barrel heats up it will have a bend in it from the barrel maker, Granted barrels are straightened before assembly and test. So unless I have a barrel made I just need to adjust for that drift.Or I can rebarrel my rifle. Not so sure that that may have been part of the problem from older guns to now. But when it comes down to a good distance shot it is a pain in the ass.
but of pistol accuracy trending better its the metalurgy and rifling getting better from uspsa and ipsc shooters demanding better performance and it trickling down
I shoot a lot off the bench, mostly at 20 yards. I’m looking for 1.5” or better, for me anything 1.0” or better is outstanding. You know you have an accurate gun if it will shoot a bunch of different loads sub 1.5”. I can almost always find a single load that will do 2” or so in gun that is a so-so performer. Some really accurate guns for me are a Sig P320, a Walther PPS M2 and a Glock 42. So size doesn’t seem to matter when it comes to potential accuracy.
Handguns arent my strongest but when im sighting in my red dots on my handguns im doing it from a bag at 15 yards and will shoot around 2 inches. Ive taken them out to 100 yards on a man sized steel and can ring it almost at will. So i would say 2 inches at 15 to 20 yards is adequate but i know people who are shooting into about an inch at the same distance.
I will be honest with out seeing your targets my first guess is that you simply got better... I feel ya though on the injury front.. I tore up an elbow which caused me to slack off on shooting for some time... also for what its worth if you had bad trigger form you could still shoot poorly off of a bench
HEY Playboy glad your back and healthy. its really depends is this comp shooting? cause if its defense center mass and the face triangle ? Please show us some of your new projects?
I don't know I'm only twenty-six. But for me if I put a pistol on a rest and try to zero my red dot or test a new hand load at 15 yards. I'm upset if my bullets not all touching. I'm generally very happy if I can keep all my shots in the black on a NRA B8 at 25 off hand. And with a good gun with a dot and good hand loads on the bench they should at least all be on the Target on an NRA b8 at 50 yards. I mostly shoot 357 and 10 mm out of a 686. Plus 3in and a tricked out Glock 29. Hope you feel better soon.
I personally think accuracy accuracy standards have gone up because of the introduction of Red Dot sights. Once you get used to using a red dot sight it's so much more precise than iron.
I shot an apple at 12ish yards over the summer with a Glock 19. I mean it took a few shots and the sights pretty much blocked out the apple, but I was proud of myself 😬
Tac ya cant turn a howitzer into a handgun & expect accuracy.i use to handgun hunt ( im51) it sucks. If you can place the shot ,where it needs to stop the target, good enough. Want groups get a 22 or an air pistol ,do like the olympic teams do... Handgauns are only ment to get you back to your longarm brother..great to see ya again bruder 👍👍👍❤👍👍👍
The honest reviews on social media have forced competition. Barrels, grips, and especially triggers have greatly improved. 2 inch bench shooting, and I'm happy. Grinning all day with a 1 inch.

Taaaaaaac! Happy to see you. No clue on guns but i would say expensive machinery from the past is being more available. Take care.
WHAT UP TAC! QC has improved as well as the consistency of AMMO loads.

I was just thinking about you last night. Glad to see you're good!!! Welcome back!
I swear you're channel was the best back in the days. Hope you continue to make more videos.
Tac, it's usually just ammo. 4" groups with a pistol is all you need to reliably hit at 12-15 yards. The slightest flinch makes for 4-5 inches.

I generally go by the palm of my hand
Good to hear you again
Glad your back Tac
Glad you are back. I do not know any of these (since my country don't like to allow citizen to have guns), so I believe you are getting good with age.
It's all about "Hand Eye Coordination" If your hand is messed up, then it will affect your accuracy. If your eyes are messed up, ditto. Your hands and eyes must work together.
Nah, it’s you Tac, you’re just awesome bud 👍
So glad your back buddy
Welcome back!

Always a pleasure to see tac, already had me laughing when he said, “ the whole butthole thing “ 😂😂😂
This is a badass channel
great to see ya bud
Good to see ya my brother have missed ya
Good to see you, playboy!!
good group from a bench with pistol at 15 yards should fit within a 3 by 5 card for me but thats with a red dot with irons that opens up quite a bit
Tac we missed you man. 💙
Good to see you, playboy.
Need more Tac in my life!
Awwwwwyeah! DBTB! 🤘🤘
He's back!!!!
At 30 yards with my Springfield XDM Elite I can make head shots! At a 100 yards with my Glock 19X I can hit a human chest!
Weren't the old Daewoo's the worst of the worst when it came to accuracy?
So glad you are back and doing good.. I'm getting old and just can't hit like I use too. Old Colt gold cup in .45ACP worked for many years.
Always good to see you Tac, I think it's the right mix of good guns, ammo and good triggers. or you can always blame your old age for better shooting ... like I do 🙃
Tac good to see ya man! I would say pinky sized grouping is good at 15 yards 👍
Hopefully Tac only got a pinky by the doctor 🤫
Keep on rocking out the vids bro',, 😊😊
I still watch the videos, even though we can't have guns here in England,, 🤣🤣🤣
Tac is alive and kicking
WOOo Tac is back!!!
Tac is back!

Yes I totally agree that the pistols now are more accurate or it could be just me..awwwww Yeahhhhhh dam good to see brother keep em rollinn!!!!
Hey Tac good to see you! Man it’s 2023 you think you’ll ever take the mask off? lol
Tac's aliveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
glad you're okay
My spread varies dependent upon factors like the width of the car hood I dive roll over and how long after landing I have to shoot. TAC (CHAC)
Sup Tac, good to see you. Maybe your handloads got more consistent?
Ruger seems to have a knack for natural point and shoot pistols. You are right. My favorite is the ruger lcr in .357. you wouldnt think a snub nose would be super accurate but it is. at 15 yrds, Quarter sized groups, of the bench, should be expected.
Hey brother. I noticed a drift with my hunting rifle, I know not a pistol, But I was getting about a 4 inch high left bullet drift as I shot. I talked to the local gun smith, Here is what he told me. Shootin' hand loads? That's what she said.
you should probably have a fist sized grouping at that range.
TAC. Long time, No see.
but of pistol accuracy trending better its the metalurgy and rifling getting better from uspsa and ipsc shooters demanding better performance and it trickling down

Ayo it's Tac!
I think I just need stronger arms to stay on target better. I keep pulling my shots. Maybe I'm also too nervous?
2-3 inches at 15 yards and you're good brah.
Like your RMJ on the wall…
Thanks man
Few people know, but Tac had to go through a surgery on a trigger finger because he was too trigger-happy on a biological level.
My man!
One inch groups are awesome. I haven't shot in forever...I think they have the milling down pat now a days.
Handguns arent my strongest but when im sighting in my red dots on my handguns im doing it from a bag at 15 yards and will shoot around 2 inches. I always say hands are overrated...
I have a 357 from 1973 and I've tried adjusting the sights with at least 250shots but it's doesn't shoot anywhere as good as my m&p out of the box
I will be honest with out seeing your targets my first guess is that you simply got better... I feel ya though on the injury front.. I tore up an elbow which caused me to slack off on shooting for some time... also for what its worth if you had bad trigger form you could still shoot poorly off of a bench

All in the same hole touching is a good group
I would think that a group of 2" or 3" would be good
Nah. That's a ghost
Tac ya cant turn a howitzer into a handgun & expect accuracy.i use to handgun hunt ( im51) it sucks. If you can place the shot ,where it needs to stop the target, good enough. I have no idea at all about this but i know you always should keep your fingers moving. Nose, Boobies, Beers n Bullets, etc. Good to see you
Could it not be that bullets have changed, a lot of old guns shoot really accurate🤔
The honest reviews on social media have forced competition. Barrels, grips, and especially triggers have greatly improved. 2 inch bench shooting, and I'm happy. Grinning all day with a 1 inch.
All those shots you took at Chris' JessX improved your aim
🤣😂 That is funny 😂🤣
Probably you brother but I have no fkin idea. I'm a bad boy so I ain't allowed to play like others.
I'm coming up to 50 what is this colon stuff you're talking about ? 😮
You sure it wasn't some 'old friend' who was glad to see you ?
Lol yup the old colon stuff, the prep sucks
