  • In this video I provide an introduction to the typical tensile stress-strain behavior for plastic polymers, that is, polymers that undergo significant plastic deformation.

Thx for refreshing my memory! What about polymers that are mixed with fibers? They are consisting of an even more complicated mixture of amorphous and crystalline molecules?

Hello, thank you very much for the explanation!!
I did nanoidentation on a same photoresist (CAR) with 3 different layer thicknesses (4.5um, 5.2um and 6.5um) with a penetration depth of 500nn. i'v come to the conclusion that when the thickness of the photo resist is bigger, then the foto resist is harder. Do you have an idea why?? Thank you very much!!!

How when a polymer is deformed (crystalline) has more elastic value then the cross-linked ones.

More the crystalline portion , more the rigidness....
when stress is applied ... crystalline portion acts first and then later imparts the load to amorphous region which starts permanent deformation .........

Alos keep in mind chains in amorphous region have more degree of freedom than crystalline .....so they can move to show plastic deformation easily unlike the chains in crystalline portion ...
