@garveydent stares down his receivers and throws into crowds, first throw in this video should've been a pick-6, egregious picks throw into triple coverage on the first 2, 3rd pick at the start of the second half he was hit as he threw but I honestly don't know how much of an impact that had on the result, the 4th and 7 half assed run into 3 defenders at the end of the game - the one time he doesn't force it into coverage is the one time it would've been justified, then gets one more opportunity because his defense gets him the ball back and on FIRST DOWN with 25 seconds left he back hands it up for grabs while being sacked, as if there were zeroes on the clock. What in the hell could possibly be his thought process behind doing that? Hopefully he's young and learns from his mistakes - he looks like he has solid arm talent, but his decision making, staring down receivers and carelessness with the ball are serious issues
Don't know if it still holds today, but in the late 1980s, even a team who only have 3-4 college prospects can go relatively deep into the Texas 5A playoffs (there was no 6A yet at the time): you only need to look at 1988 Permian and they managed to go to the semifinals with only 3 D1 prospects: Ivory Christian (TCU), Brian Chavez (signed at Harvard, but didn't play) and Mike Winchell (Brown; did not sign and ultimately walked on at Baylor) IIRC even the best Texas HS teams can't send everyone to even D1 FCS.
People really don't know but this is a old school game that really should be broadcast more National spotlightwise in my opinion
It has been getting televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU each year for a while now.
This was the 138th playing of “the game”. Oldest rivalry in American Football history. And I agree this game should get national attention.
Lehigh Lafayette rivalry is longer.I Don't mean to sound like a jackass just pointing that out.

Lehigh Lafayette played twice a year for a while which led to the inflated number
@@sethrosenberg5090technically it’s Rutgers-Princeton. But that rivalry is kind of dead in football
@SAD1034 Lehigh-Lafayette is not the oldest rivalry but it is the most played rivalry.
You know all of the players on this field are the smartest in all of college football!
Yet they make so many mistakes 🤣
More like the cheapest. Bet these kids couldnt let go of a dime if it wasnt for self-interest.
Ivy League schools are overrated.
@@collegefootballpicks2972 ok. so would i
Except for Harvard's quarterback
Fun fact: At 27 championships, Yale has more national championships than any other college football team!
When was the last one?

And most of them were in the 19th century when only a handful of schools had teams.
Yea against only 7 teams . And over 90 years ago😂
Thanks for the post, Man 🍻
The Trust Fund Babies bowl.
An entertaining game if not an SEC level game.
Don’t be confused they get after it.
Most of the football players aren’t the rich legacies that get in because their parents get in
Thanks for th post, man. Bula bula’
nice game, you normally dont see much of these teams
It’s the oldest rivalry in American football history. This was the 138th game.

Man this kid grooms has a lot of ability 7:41 is rare talent
wow I thought ivy league schools football were boring but they're actually not bad though.
Fun fact: Harvard has 12 national championships
Additionally; Rice has a 3 - 0 record against Alabama, better than Texas' 7 - 2 record against 'The Tide'...
@Jamal Burrell Rice? Lol wait until Tide fans find out.
And Yale has 27 National Championships.
Yale: 27 National Championships

Great Game. Thanks.
I will never complain about ESPN broadcasters again.
that left tackle for Harvard is absolutely horrible
Demonstrate our prowess, do!
Imagine being really good at football and being one of the smartest people in our country 😂
Might not be the best, even FCS, game, but at least they take their education seriously...
The linemen bout week asf on both sides but atleast yales receivers are pretty good
Harvards QB is one of the worst D1 QBs I've even seen

I'll be breaking legs.
Ib league football thats different
GO Yale beat HAMAS AND ANTI SEMITISM
Only reason these teams are not good is because there are not that much nerd football players
Whole Lotta Honkeys on that field
For Ivy League these plays are the most boring, simple plays I’ve ever seen
Smart but not athletic
Harvard qb so trash Yale qb is very good
need a mascot?
I have a team for 2025 year.
We a bunch of convicts and murderers.
I play def tackle.
I’m pretty sure that most high school teams in Texas could beat either of these teams.

Well in this game their offensive failures were distributed equally
