"Venezuelans love bitcoin. Well, of course they may do, because it's chaos in their country". The arrogance or ignorance to dismiss that happening in the US or UK is absolutely staggering.
Why is there more than one year after this debate still no full version of this video to be found anywhere? Did the old Keynesian no-coiner get so destroyed that he insisted to keep the full debate private due to shame? Can't think of another reason.
Good Video; everyone needs more than their basic salary to be financially secured. the best thing to do with your money is to invest. money left in savings always end up used with no returns...
@@ezragoldfinklesteinberg6033 Never did sorry. Maybe it's not posted anywhere? A shame. If you haven't seen this debate though it's also pretty interesting: th-cam.com/video/MN4klUUx8fM/w-d-xo.html
so great from Prof. Ammous "Cryptocurrencies are an IQ test and most people fail" haha. Yes there is Proof of work to do to understand the technology and the difficulty level is quite high. What remains is Bitcoin haters who failed to understand. Wonderful
Danny Darko Peter Schiff has the strongest bitcoin criticism I’ve heard. He argues for return to the gold standard, rather than the same money-printing central planning of Keynesian theory that gave rise to our current global credit problems
Martin Vander Weyer is so ignorant of the subject. It looks like he's turned up to this debate after doing no research whatsoever. He should be embarassed. Even I could win this argument against him and i'm terrible at debating.
These poor old men are clueless. They do not understand the economics of bitcoin. It can be very deceiving when you first hear about it though. I had their attitude when I heard about it in 2014. fml
You're right - and at great cost to me, I had the same attitude as well. My "big argument" against Bitcoin was that although the supply of BTC is capped at 21 million, the supply of cryptos themselves is potentially infinite. I've since heard this same argument many, many times from Peter Schiff, et. al. It sounds like a debate-ender of a statement - turns out it's anything but. It's like an elegant mathematical model that doesn't describe reality. Took me a little while (and a knowledgeable friend) to understand how 'network effects' refute that claim. People seem to think Satoshi whipped this thing up overnight in some sort of fit akin to teen angst. Bitcoin was carefully planned, and in development for a LONG time. It's highly unlikely to collapse completely now, even at ~80+% down from the previous ATH.
You are not the only one, I made the same mistake. Then years later it took me almost a full year to understand Bitcoin. Since 2015 I have been accumulating, still doing it.
Always a bit annoying listing to these old dinosaurs who don't even understand the function of the scroll well on the mouse, talk about the most revolutionary invention(blockchain) and try to compare it with their old/outlived/fossil ideas and institution whose fundamentals are based on greed.
Keynes actually strongly favored the Bancor as the politically neutral world reserve currency. Status quo resembles far from it. However Bitcoin comes closer to that than the US Dollar or any sovereign currency. So.. Ammous is wrong about Vander Weyer for being a "Keynesian"...
Thanks for sharing such valuable information! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (behave today finger ski upon boy assault summer exhaust beauty stereo over). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
2nd round is even more fun. Don t fool Prof. Ammous with credit money creation saying it is good to have a TV by pump - he will bite back and this will be bloody
Thanks. yes, he should stick to argueing against legacy fiat and central banks. He is no expert at all and absolutely simplistic on Altcoins and Forks, especially BCH.
Saif takes absolutely NO MERCY ON KEYNESIANS
Saifedean is an absolute legend.
Saifedean's rebuttals were epic! I watched this 3 times already.
Mr. Hayes is that you?

Ever since I lost my job with the ministry, I have been surviving through my investment with her, am so glad I invested when I did..
Investment is that tiny line that separates the rich from the poor..
O' Yes I'm a living testimony of Mrs Patricia Turner..
My first investment with her gave me profit of over $64,000 US dollar.
Same here it's four months now I started trading with her too and it's been a good experience,,
Is there a link to the full debate somewhere? I can't seem to find it.
I can't find it either. Did you find it yet????

Ammous needs to bring down nouriel roubini.
Hey @BitMex. We need to see the full video. Please post the unedited video, or let us know where we can find it. Thanks.
Thank you for hosting this event... great to hear a debate on the subject. Please think about posting the entire debate next time.

it'd be nice if you posted a source to the full debate.
How can I find the entire video?
This is gold!
Crypto Wolves no it’s better it’s bitcoin! :D
Crazy how you can tell within 30 seconds if someone knows nothing about bitcoin or how it works....
I would like to see a critique of Bitcoin that is not polemic. Rarely seen one. Bitcoin is too much of a threat.
Danny Darko Peter Schiff has the strongest bitcoin criticism I’ve heard. He argues for return to the gold standard, rather than the same money-printing central planning of Keynesian theory that gave rise to our current global credit problems
@@garthsnyder6715 Thanks for the hint. I`ve seen Peter Schiff debate Eric Vorhees though and I wasn`t impressed.
This aged well
Excellent stuff guys, more of this!

Bitcoin or Shitcoin isn't a question. It's your options!
“bUt IT’s VoLaTiLe” Yes because it’s a nascent global market and it’s only $0.1tn in size, Mr Fancypants economist man.

nice to see the casino using their profits for something good

Not a fan of Saifedean.
Bitcoin wins
Nocoiners, Non-argumentors, and No-nothings... but so much Lot hot air and arrogance. Painful to listen to actually.
saifedean, your ideas might be good but you were unnecessarily rude there.
Idris PendisBey are you kidding me? The others were mocking all the time. I think he was soft, even.
Rude in which way
Saifedean's cocky, childish attitude prevents a civil discussion on the virtues and drawbacks of Bitcoin. Not a good representative of the movement.
You are a clown on a bike.
