This is basically what would happen if you tied two Larson Loopers together and made it a rollercoaster, it’s a pretty unique ride and it’s insane with that inverted section on the top. Great job on this one, I was hoping you would cover a coaster like this.
00:11 This roller coaster was in Mexico in the 90s , but anymore. In fact, the park was demolished around 2008 00:33 This roller coaster is localized in Selva Magica (Magic Jungle) in Guadalajara, Mexico
Regarding Schwarzkopf, the company went bankrupt *for the first time* in 1983, but somehow got back on track (pun intended). They went bankrupt again when they were working on "Thriller", which came out in 1986, so probably around 1985 was the second time they went bankrupt. Which would like up with the construction of this ride. Of course, Anton himself continued working with BHS and Zierer after his company went down, so he as a person was still present in the industry, like you said. However, I don't think they would have normally sold just a train (maybe they did this time, trying to prevent going bankrupt, who knows). The track design doesn't look like Schwarzkopf though. Just making a track that has the same size of running rails and the same spacing between them doesn't require permission from them, so they likely didn't get that permission or didn't even ask for it. Regarding the mechanical design of the train, I can see some similarities. I know that Schwarzkopf filed a patent in the mid 1970s for the trains that have a 2-axle front car and single-axle "trailer cars" following it, but I don't know if that was still in effect by that time. We'll probably never know for sure...
Kamikaze is a very old coaster, I did it between 1990 and 2000 in Paris at the Foire du Trône, there was a technical problem, we were stuck, but not head down, frankly, on the contrary, our tour lasted a long time:) It's a good coaster, simple but effective!
Wow, that’s awoken a long-dormant memory. My brain is hazy, but I feel sure I must have seen this at the Le Mans 24 hour race, many years back. Banzai was certainly there, as were the only stripper shows I’ve ever seen at a fairground.
Great video! That looks like it would be fun to ride. I like the name of it as it's similar to the flat ride I've ridden like that, which I've ridden one before.
It's a swing launch I see. Looks like this is what inspired Premier Rides to create the Sky Rocket II 30 years later. Makes sense since the Katapult was powered and this seems to be gravitational. I do know Shwarzkopf did create the first swing launch coaster in the portable Shuttle Loop despite it not being a full circuit, though that type of layout wasn't seen again till 2023 with Mandrill Mayhem opening, and of course, the Vekoma Super Boomerang (which I am hyped to see at Great Adventure). I do see why the modern ones use LSMs since they are more superior than those old friction wheels that can still be used. Gerstlauer did open a custom launched family shuttle coaster in 2023 that swing launches using friction wheels.
I walked past this ride at Fête des Loges many years ago, as I was heading for the original Mondial Top Scan. They also had a Schwarzkopf Jumbo Jet, so this ride didn’t get a look-in, sadly.
This is a cool looking coaster… We had a Kamakaze at our local fair for years that was just one single loop that went around one way then backwards the other and stop.
I swear that thumbnail looks like clickbait but it never is and if i saw that on any other channel i’d just skip it but somehow urs are always legit 😂 Edit: Awesome video as always, i’d never heard of this one
I rode this in France in the early 90´s and hated it. It was awkward and uncomfortable. I was always under the impression that French manufacturer Soquet was behind this. It lacked any sophistication that we would expect from a Schwarzkopf ride. It´s also not tire driven! (maybe added tires in the station for additional push), but the acceleration was done via a motor in the front and back car. You can see that those cars are longer and don´t carry riders. As for the alledged Schwarzkopf collaboration: In the 90´s Anton Schwarzopf´s son Wieland was opening his own company, building trains and rides. He planned to sell a new generation of trains to all Schwarzkopf coasters, but never got very far with it. Maybe he was involved in it?! He also build a spectacular ride (think a Monster 3 with spinning and looping gondolas). It was a technical nightmare, but it´s still operationg as Parcour in Germany, albeit with new gondolas, that can´t flip you upside down anymore.
whoa I had never seen something like this, but coincidentally I had thought of something similar myself! I have wondered many times why there are almost no coasters that feature a short stretch of straight, level inversions so you can feel -1 G's for a few seconds. Skyloop by Maurer Sohne comes to mind
I know I have ridden the Kamikaze at The Florida State fair and Strawberry Festival as a kid... We live in Carneyville USA with Gibsonton FL being literally a town over. I have ridden this I'm sure of it
I didn’t know how to contact you but I would love to see a video from you on Whirlwind at Knoebels. I remember it as a child. Rode it once as it was the first metal inverted coaster I rode and then it disappeared. I always wondered why. Thank you.
I was able to visit Knoebels in 2000. Whirlwind stood in the place where Flying Turns is now. I was able to ride Whirlwind several times. It was a little rough as one would expect from a Vekoma looper, but it had a great compact layout. I'll look forward to seeing a video about it.
Someone else did something on this ride, It may have been Kevin(defuntland or Sam(expedition theme park) or theme park crazy.. I know RCB shared the fun fair footage at some point, great video btw!! Keep them coming, I don’t think it’s in the DB it may not be considered a roller coaster
Jesus is the only way into Heaven. Ask Him into your life. Cleanse you from ALL unrighteousness. Confess with your mouth that He is your Lord & your Savior. One day, YOU will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.

For sure! Mysterious stuff :)

Great content! Thanks for all the work you put into this.
Thank you! And you’re absolutely welcome! :)
Just when I thought coasters couldn't get more bizarre...!
I remember seeing this rollercoaster in the channel funfair worldwide seems pretty fun tbh
Imagine the hangtime on that thing.

That sounds more like a Larson Loop
@@coasterboy324 Ours was definitely called Kamikaze.
Yup. Same at the Mississippi State Fair when I was younger. A single loop ride called Kamikaze. It’s the exact same concept and train launch.
@@carnellcreative Thank you, I knew I wasn’t the only one that knew about this ride!
That's one freaky coaster. Thanks for sharing the history with us :)
Of course! :)
This ride looks completely insane!! What it would be like to ride around inside a giant cassette tape. Would love to ride it, 😂😂😂
I swear that thumbnail looks like clickbait but it never is and if i saw that on any other channel i’d just skip it but somehow urs are always legit 😂

The train on Kamikaze seems to be self-powered by the first and last car. I don't see any seats in there.
In the short video it looks like they had two symmetric end cars, which I've never seen on a Schwarzkopf.

You Should Do A Video On Ice Mountain Bobsleds. That's Quite The Odd Ball Of A Coaster.

It’s a SUPER Wheel of Fire!
I feel like Larson Loopers put a number of these smaller footprint designs in the grave.
Portable coasters always seem so sketchy to me. I'm not surprised that this model didn't catch on.
Yet Wild Mouses are everywhere both traveling and permanent. But those are more simple
How would the ride maintain enough velocity after the first loop to make it through the straight portion of the track and the second loop?
Lots of drive tires... lots of drive tires haha
Was there any trace of what happened to it after the 90s?
I rode it in France 1992 and it was fun
Are you going to the IAAPA Expo in Orlando this year? I truly miss going. My last one was in Las Vegas 2009.
I hope so!
I want to know more about that other coaster he made. Can you do a video on that one please.
Kamikaze looks great!

Whirlwind still operates in Costa Rica at a park called Parque Diversiones & is now called Bocaraca
Thanks for reaching out! I can definitely look into that!

Are those loops perfectly circular?! Ouch!!!

Hey thank you! I appreciate it!
I can’t imagine how it didn’t stall upside down
this thing looks fun i wanna ride it
this is gonna be lit
Someone sould revive this concept. Could be a fantastic thrilride at a small park.
Ride looks crazy awesome... hold on to your wallets xD
Worlds first stall loop?
all it needs is a tophat behind the loops
Looks way more fun than Skyline Attractions Skywarp II model.
Oh hey, I have the Banzai Cred
How was it? It's the Zero g stall before the Zero g stall
@@I_eat_cats_4_fun I can't remember :(
@@george5924 oh cool cred tho
Wieland Schwarzkopf. Different company.
It must have drive tires in the bottom of the two loops right, or else it would valley?
Drive tires were in the first and last cars. Train was motorized
I rode The Katapult at 0:12 in 1989.
Awesome!
What
first yay
NOOOO u always get it ughhhh
