Subgrid flow modelling is a key feature in recent versions of HEC-RAS.

Hello! First, let me thank you for posting this webinar, it is very informative.
Secondly, I have a question about how does HEC-RAS work when modelling a watershed?
I'm in the beginning of a project to study a watershed (sediment transport, soil erosion and so on) and I want to do flood risk map for the watershed area. May I use HEC-RAS for this or is this software better used in rivers and floodplains? If so, should I use another software (for example: ArcSWAT or QSWAT) to delineate and study the watershed, and then use HEC-RAS to model the flood pattern?
I'm still in the process of choosing a suitable software for this project, so I will be very thankful for any input.

Hi there, thank you for your comment. Perhaps best to redirect your question to the HEC-RAS Blog: hecrasmodel.blogspot.com. Here they might be able to assist better with your enquiry.

Do we need to create cross-sections for pure 2D models in HEC-RAS?

sir is HecRas software is suitable for plain area? i open yhe Dem and open terrain map for taking river cross section but i cannot found the terrain map of Hec_Ras on my area more clear.... i cannot recognize the river and extend i n that terrain please anybody can explain me why i am facing this problem with my study area? is this because of less elevation?

      Dear Sir
I joined the 2D Water Modelling with HEC-RAS course on Sept 2019, only one webinar was left, and due to family and job circumstances I was not able to complete the course at the expected date, after my circumstances became stabled I found myself not allowed to access my course account, I tried to contact course coordinator and no response unfortunately. After several attempts to access my account I was able to log in but I found that the course was deleted, again I contacted the course coordinator to inquire and ask help but still I found no response. Now I cannot even find the log in page in your website. I was egger to complete this course and join other courses that you offer but I became hesitated due the lack of technical support and any kind of interaction.
I hope this time my email will get your attention.
