Got Scuppered on an Early Morning Walk in a Cotswold Village

- So, today we are out and about walking in the Cotswold village of Bourton-on-the-Hill, which is located about 3 km west of Moreton-in-Marsh in the County of Gloucestershire in the UK. In 2010 there was an approximate population of 288.
The village church is dedicated to St. Lawrence, which is a grade I listed building and dates back to the 17th century.
Part of the walk is through a section of countryside. It was going well until we came to a grinding halt due to a locked gate. I'm not sure if the gate was across a public footpath or not. There was a weathered sign in the middle of the gate which stated "No horses". Maybe it was a public footpath some years ago but has since been locked off...If any knowledgeable locals or ramblers reading this might know what's what, please post a comment. Thanks

Bourton is aptly named, as it really is on the hill; it climbs a lot sometimes!!.
A very pretty village with a very old church.
The country walk was very pretty and a shame it couldn't have been longer.
The owner of the estate certainly had his reasons!!.
The cows came quickly to the news and they could have told us!!! (Laughs).

Love to watch your walking videos! We visited Cotswolds and stayed in Bourton- on- the - Water for a week on June. I did my paintings in Lower Slaughter and love all the tranquil villages nearby😍🌿. Even early in the morning the sun is now bright and sharp. beautiful spot. I especially love the cows coming to say hello at about 24:11. This is proof, if proof were needed, that you can have many views of the same place and for them to look entirely different. Your view is utterly different to my own (which, to be fair, was all over the place). Great video. Thanks, as ever.

I know exactly what you mean, I'm not too far off my twilight yeas myself and with each passing year my dislike for modern day noise pollution grows stronger! Heads up...if you tune into tomorrow's upload be sure to mute the sound because let's just say the residents in the opening scene don't need alarm clocks! ATB :)
Bird song isn't noise .Cars and modern life are noise.I'm old too ,but the blissful sound of the birds in my garden brings me such inner peace.

When you have insomnia like me a woodpecker right outside your window banging holes through your aluminumn gutters or a whipperwill at 5am that wont shut up is in no way blissfull. I like birds, I feed birds. Enjoy your birds but dont tell me how "blissfull" they are when you cant freakin sleep.
This church said the said at the door that itis place was open. You went up to the door and never attempted to enter. You can film inside unless there was something going on inside. The church is the facal point in any walk through a village and because you failed to to enter that i will no longer subscribe to your blogs.This is not the first one that tou ignored,

Thank you for these wonderful walking videos. You are my go-to site for quiet meditation and feet-up relaxation. On one of your walks I heard the church clock strike 5:00 am (I think) and I’m puzzled that no dog ever barks, no cats are in sight, and simply nobody about - no joggers, cyclists, or even people rousing themselves. When I trace much of the same route via Google Earth it seems a busy place indeed. I have a device that transfers the sound directly to my hearing aids and I often drift off for a nap and rejoin you later in the walk. Bless you, for all this.
