I just realized that I am hating on a fictional character. Im gonna go touch some grass.........so i touched some grass and yah hell no I still hate Gojo!!!
I feel you bro, i hate this new type of cliché anime characters that are just born OP and will never lose like Levi and Gojo, makes it boring and the "bad guys" can only do shit when they are not around or the autor needs to make an excuse to why he wasnt present.
well actually gojo was the one always losing, he failed to protect everything he wanted, and now he's dead so, he's wasn't just a cliche white haired character, rip
That's why they're not the protagonist though. The story revolves around the characters that need the character development, but there are always people who are just born with talent, its not really unrealistic. It would be cliche and boring if they were completely invincible and the story focused only on them, but these characters have some of the most tragic lives. Levi has basically never caught a break his entire life and had to live with the guilt of protecting the biggest mass murderer in history as all his friends were killed, and Gojo is the strongest sorcerer and yet has always failed at every turn in protecting the things he cared about most. Personally I think being able to tell a good story while having compelling overpowered characters like this is a credit to the authors.
bro you just say born op and levi in the same sentence? do you know how levi grew up? and its not cliche to have a gojo type, its actually cliche to have the weak ass MC turn into a monster, thats the shonen formula. lets not forget that besides gojo bodying everyone but toji and sukuna, the "good guys" are constantly takin Ls.
Gojo literally lost in s2 and i object. It makes the villains be more smart look at season 2 they had to lure out gojo and keep him out. Thats their literal plan of attack and have to use their brains and in season 1 he came last moment near the (possible climax) and literally lost and got sealed in season 2. He isn't even in that many fights 😭
Ironically, Gojo is not very popular in the verse. Most people think he's a rich, egotistical asshole. It's just Miwa and his students that kind of like him, and his old classmates.
@@Elias-qp7cz you don’t know what the word “humbled” means. Gojo doesn’t think any less of his own ability after losing to Toji. He does the exact opposite, awakening a level of power that makes him undoubtedly the strongest in the verse, leading to him referring to himself as “the honored one”. His name literally means to become enlightened, which is what happened in his fight against Toji. Ironically enough Toji is the one who ends up getting humbled, trying to defeat Gojo purely out of pride. Also Gojo talks just as much shit as he did before Toji, what was the point of making that up? lmao
@@SirBeachBoy I see your first point on how I used humbled wrong but I still feel like Gojo talked more shit before Toji. He didn’t care about weak people or saving them and be disregarded them. He still shit talks but his mindset is definitely different. He wouldn’t shit talk weak people like he did before Toji. He matured
@@Elias-qp7cz You misinterpreted a large portion of this arc man. Riko is the reason Gojo’s stance on the weak changes. After realizing that Riko is basically giving up her own life for this “greater good”, Gojo & Getou wanted Riko to enjoy her final moments of humanity. They even decided that they’d side with Riko if she decided to refuse the merging & enjoy her life instead. After she’s killed & Gojo holds her body, you literally witness Gojo’s turning point. He’s now willing to kill people of power to protect the innocence & livelihood of the weak
Braindead argument tbh You can make anything you want, try your damn hardest to make the most unique character of all, and i guarantee your ass that there will be something similar if not downright identical to it somewhere out there lmao
@@OGrupxemy guy I can genuinely say goku rock lee and Naruto are unique characters that left an impression on me but gojo I’ll forget about him at some point when jjk is complete
Looks like we are on the same Train In my opinion is to much overrated When it comes to comparing with others People people need to know his infinity isn't stopping every anime character 😂
honestly this backstory arc made me understand gojo's character and like him even more (same for geto). i wont to spoil anything but you'll get to see some of his development and change of philosophy, same goes for geto. all you need to know for now is that he is an extremely cocky and powerful teenager who didn't care about protecting the weak however at this point in time he hadn't mastered all of his abilities yet.
I personally think his character is just boring. He’s really not that interesting, we barely know anything about him or his past, and we only get a few interesting moments of him during the arc before shibuya. The only truly interesting about Gojo himself is his powers, but that’s about it. I’d even say minor villains like the 2 brothers were more interesting than Gojo. This stuff is why I didn’t really care when Gojo died. Like yeah it was sad but I’m not invested enough in a character like Gojo to be sad about him dying.
I hate his personality, arrogant, feeling mighty, goku and saitama is an op character, but more likeable due to the personality, besides he is a side character, it takes the spotlight from the mc and I hate it, if he is the mc or the final antagonist then i think I'll like him more.
I don’t mind him to be arrogant since he’s like overpowered and easily gives in to his arrogance. Though I agree, I don’t like yugi the mc is treated less interesting.
@Uchii42 I know I'm late, but it makes sense in verse. Cursed energy has always been fueled with negative emotions, so it makes sense that the strongest in the verse is an egostical prick The power system encourages you to give in to your worst traits
Something I really dislike about Gojo is that the show (and especially the fans) try really hard to make him seem "flawed" but none of his flaws matter. He's morally ambiguous. Is he though? He ends up always doing the right thing, so in the end it doesn't matter. He's arrogant. So what? That's pretty common for anime characters and people love it. He doesn't seem to care much about civilians. Yeah, neither do I as a viewer. When Dio got into that taxi none of us gave a shit that he mentally and physically tortured that innocent cab driver for no reason at all. When he killed Kakyoin, we did. Because as a viewer, we only care about the characters close to us. When Mob hurts innocent people by going berserk it only matters because the show reminds us that Mob cares about human life, that he doesn't want to hurt anyone, so him losing control and hurting people doesn't matter to us directly, but we know this is something a character we care about will feel terrible over. Gojo being arrogant or "morally ambiguous" or whatever has no bearing on anything, and him being arrogant even makes sense considering that he's ridiculously overpowered. Now on the flip-side, he was born handsome and powerful, never had to work for anything from what is shown to us as the audience and the singular one time he completely loses a fight in the animation, and I mean genuinely loses it, he just comes back more powerful than ever in one of the worst written Deus Ex Machinas I've ever seen in shonen, and I mean that. I'm not saying JJK is worse than all other shonen, definitely not, but that scene was just horribly, horribly written. Then the writer has to tell us how to feel about it by going "well actually he did this which blablablabalbalbalbla" and we get an in-depth explanation using made-up words about how his ability can do these crazy things and we're supposed to go "oh ok" despite it being a really badly done ass-pull storywise. And the character that gets gutted for it is Toji, a character that is ACTUALLY flawed because he won't take care of his son who we care about. A character that gambles and drinks, something some of us can actually understand is a problem because some people have cases like this in their circle of friends or their family. A character that has to work hard because he's at a constant disadvantage and honestly deserves a ton of praise for figuring out how to take down an opponent far stronger than him. But what happens in the end? He gets killed by the guy who was born amazing, never had to worry about growing stronger and who genuinely pulls a Jesus to come back from the dead stronger than ever before, because eff story-telling or earned success, Gojo is just too cool to lose. It feels lazy, and honestly I always took it as an ironic metaphor about how genuine creativity in media will always be trumped by impressive visuals. Gojo is just more marketable, more popular, and his moves are colourful and strong. Toji is more of an underdog, his moves are less impressive, he's flawed and actually happens to be a kind of cleverly written at times, but he cannot stand a chance against the power of superior animation. They could have done so much more with Toji, he had so much potential. Whether it be a redemption arc, or maybe something tragic befalls him and he suffers a sad, pathetic death after realizing just how much of his happiness he ignored throughout life. Something that takes time to develop and actually makes you feel bad for someone you perceived as so flawed and ignorant in the beginning. Someone who SHOULD have been better, especially since his son is one of the main characters and we're bound to care in some way. But no, instead he just gets one-shot killed and that's it. Remembers his son for a brief moment, barely even touching upon the subject. GG, evil dilf.
You make a lot of amazing points here... but knowing jjk fans, they are just gonna ignore it or spam the skull emoji and say shit like "nah, I ain't reading that" or "what is blud talking about" but I appreciate the effort.
Exactly thankyou.. the show is more plot driven than what is actually goin on within the characters which the author is too lazy to write upon, hed rather have those fancy techniques. the characters are just so bland thats it, that I couldn't care less by the end. Just the moment we want to know more about the character he cuts it shortly making me feel empty about them. Their just walking soulless characters to me.
OMN FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES! people are so shallow and only like GOJO because he’s hawt PERIOD. THATS FUCKING ITTTTTT AHDHUSJSJWJSMD DISISJDMDMDJDJDJ
This story is actually about Gojo's morals (not his power) though he is actually a lot weaker than his current self (but still of course a very powerful sorcerer) Not sure if you noticed (some people reacting to this episode didn't seem too) that THIS younger Gojo does not care about taking care of weak, the main theme of this story is about why and how Gojo's mind set changed as well as his backstory with Geto (which will be a incredibly important plot point in the current timeline series) Next episode will show that Gojo is not as powerful as his current self and Gojo's back story will show how he became so powerful in the future, because future/grown up Gojo could EASILY defeat his younger self, there is still a huge leap in power to be had. But yes, the main theme won't be Gojo's power but how Gojo in the past didn't care about protecting the weak, too the current Gojo who is now a teacher and has a very different outlook on the world. What changed that outlook is what will be shown in this series and I assure you its epic and also hits Gojo's character VERY hard and I think makes him a very interesting character as well. I also completely agree who commented on Gojo having a lonely path. I also see as Gojo's change of mind set to be really important, because of the exact reason you complained about, because his so powerful he will and is influecing Jujutsu Kaisen story a lot, like if you think about it, without Gojo and his immense power, the higher ups would not have listened and would have exacuted Yuji, then we'd have no story ha! And if his mind set about "I don't care and don't want to take responsability for the weak" didn't change then he would never have become a teacher that that just boggles my mind at how that could have effected the story, so yeah his change of mind set is very important. I think you'll understand Gojo's character more and like him more by the end of the backstory though (lets just say Gojo's quote to Jogo "when granted everything, you can't do anything" fits Gojo's character rather well...
Gojo was literally made to be killed off, he was written to be overpowered ENTIRELY so sukuna would murder him and make the reader go "oh shit" that's his ONLY purpose.
Bruh you just explained everything I dislike about Gojo in one video😂😂 I haven't watched Jujutsu but I don't like overpowered characters (*also a reason why I'm not a fan of superman my fav is batman), I also hate this superiority complex in him, he's so overpowered in an unrealistic and unbalanced way, Levi is for me a more balanced and realistic op character and I honesty hate this overhyping for Gojo especially when it's mostly of "he's so cool and good-looking"
Pointing this out actually does raise a good point. I think if he wasn't always this pompous dude and he developed that persona to keep himself grounded that would have been actually crazy good writing.
The thing is nobody cares about other JoJo character except Jotaro,Dio possibly but unlikely as not famous among non-jojo fans. So nobody cares about them Slamming gojo as they aren't even known much.

I hate gojo because in vs battles gojo fans always deny that one character can bypass infinity and the battles are just if this character can bypass infinity
Most of you probably won''t read all of this but I'd like to rant so bear with me. Manga spoilers, I guess. The Anime doesn't explain everything and the manga takes a while to explain too. *Overpowered*: Yeah I kind of agree but then again, most sorcery clinges on innate talent. Talent is what supports most of the sorcerer's powers and Gojo got the easy way out with six eyes and limitless. Gege has revealed in the most recent interview that Gojo was mostly trained by his clan members and has gone on "big sorcerer missions" with members the big three sorcerer families so he has a good amount of experience exorcising curses since he was a kid. Sadly, none of this was ever shown, hopefully Gege decides to look into it more. Gege has also stated because of six eyes he can do anything and become good at it if he tried. Gojo gets the overpowered end anyway. Also he's tall, of course he plays basketball 😂 *Gojo vs Toji*: Toji's use in the first place is for three things, killing Amanai, separating Gojo and Geto, making Gojo *stronger*. How Gojo came back was a bit of an asspull but Toji fulfilled his purpose in the Hidden Inventory arc. Gojo is still a teenager at that time and has never dealt with an anomaly like Toji. Toji is a whole special case because of his heavenly restriction that makes him have 0 cursed energy. Gojo was finally challenged. Overall Gojo was written to be perceived as a perfect person with no flaws or weaknesses but that just isn't true. If we saw the story from post-hidden inventory arc Gojo, things would be very different. Gojo started out as ignorant and uncaring because of the environment he was raised in. There he was told he's the most powerful and a lot of people are below and bullshit like that for a good amount of time. While Geto was raised by non-sorcerer parents and in general has a strong moral compass. His turn to the dark side is caused by many reasons which led him to believe non-sorcerers weren't the weak anymore, jujutsu sorcerers were the weak. Thus, going down that path. And Gojo even with all his power couldn't stop Geto. We fail to see isn’t merely “The Strongest” or “The Honored One”, he isn’t a god nor is he perfect. His name is Satoru Gojo, blessed and cursed with strength from birth. He's another human, just born more powerful. Gojo is incredibly hard to read through , not only because we don't know him but because he didn't know himself. He has weaknesses not linked to him beings the strongest. Geto is one of his weaknesses, and is not something that can overpower him, but can surely can be used against him in the worst ways. (Shibuya). Gojo , despite all his supremacy, he can't do much alone. He failed in almost all matters that truly matter to him, wheter it's saving Amanai or being there for his best friend. His power also make it harder for him to work with others. He is OP, but not invincible.
I don’t mind overpowered characters but I get bored if they are not challenged. This is why I like mob cause he struggles with the consequences of being overpowered. Gojo I feel like he is manifestation of the main character syndrome.
He is indeed a boring character, everything he does as soon as you get the picture is predictable. Just look as cool and unfathomed the way the kids like. Alright bro ok heres a medal, now just move on. 😂

i think the problem with gojo all stemmed from 0 since it was originally just a oneshot before jjk got picked up and yuta was meant to be the MC but Gege scrapped the idea so doing something with Gojo would been too risky because he choosing to make two big changes rather than one for a publisher that solely picked jjk up for the prequel.
Gojo is kinda boring in the series. My favorite jjk characters are all much better than gojo. Geto, megumi, and nanami all are interesting but they also still have depth to them. It feels like gojo is purposely written to be this almost sociopathic sensation seeker that acts on pure impulse and instinct. It’s like he’s not meant to have much depth or anything. Goku is also kind of a flat character but he’s got some depth to him and he’s always entertaining. I just can’t relate to gojo or admire him the way I do characters like goku. I think gojo is cool in a power fantasy sense but that’s about it. He has the coolest ability in the series and one of the coolest abilities I’ve ever seen but when he isn’t fighting he’s pretty boring and annoying.
First of all he's not even stronger than pts Naruto second he was alive of the show the whole show is garbage now because of his death but I can actually say like this story is really maid and why you hating on light skins will it be okay if I hate it on your skin?

Well actually I respect everyones opinions but u need to watch season2 and read the manga he wasnt always that strong infinity was never automatic and in episode 2 he failed to use red which wasnt a joke so he was strong kinda but not as strong then what happened change his life
I just want to say that Geto could have just not made the shot for a number of reasons. Maybe he didn't want to or didn't care and just wanted to shoot a shot he didn't care about. It's the kind of action that matches his personality to me.
What did you expect did you see what they say about the day he was born? He just born and there s fear It make sense if was on top of everything and didn't struggle
Hi! Gojo fan here. I understand your opinions and I'm not gonna force you to believe anything. I'll just say my perspective and leave it at that. You probably already watched s2 and know that Gojo wasn't always 'overpowered' and he actually _did_ work hard since he was a kid (He most likely underwent training and experienced a few assassination attempts as a kid) even though he had more talent and a head start. I mean, he's basically an OP isekai protagonist, like you said. But the main reason why Gojo is one of my favorite characters is because his struggles aren't focused on having a hard time exorcising curses but facing the tragedy that is Suguru. Now, if the whole Suguru thing didn't happen, I'd probably not like Gojo as much as I do. I'm pretty sure I'm just projecting my struggles on him. Said struggles consist of: Being a prodigy so you become lonely, because you are good at what you do no one worries or asks if you're ok because they assume that everything is easy for you, having a hard time making friends, not having people that you can perceive as 'equal' and actually trust, not having someone who can understand your struggles of being lonely, getting a person who is an equal but then you realize you're a lot better than them and you start to drift apart, getting a person who understands you but leaves, etc. But even if Suguru didn't exist, I suppose we would still share similar struggles. I personally like Gojo a lot because I can relate to him, and even though at first glance it seems he's perfect without any problems, he has regrets. Regrets that probably eat at his soul, knowing he could've done something to not lose Suguru. He most likely is lonely and has attachment issues. And he isn't really viewed as a human being with his own opinions, feelings, and emotions. He's just viewed as a sort of God who can do anything, so no one shows him concern. And damn does that hit close to home. Actually, there's a difference between hitting too close to home and throwing a fucking bomb in your house and exploding it. I've struggled with my superiority and inferiority complex before, so I understand his arrogance. (Bro got humbled rq when Suguru left tho.) But as I said, I kinda get why some people don't like Gojo. Good video, it's fun seeing how anime onlys think since it gives me a new perspective that I usually don't get! Oh and sorry for making this so long.. I get worked up when someone mischaracterizes Gojo 😅

In my opinion is to much overrated
When it comes to comparing with others People people need to know his infinity isn't stopping every anime character 😂
Let em know 😂🗣️
And you are retarded if people are suffering that's none of my business
honestly this backstory arc made me understand gojo's character and like him even more (same for geto). i wont to spoil anything but you'll get to see some of his development and change of philosophy, same goes for geto. all you need to know for now is that he is an extremely cocky and powerful teenager who didn't care about protecting the weak however at this point in time he hadn't mastered all of his abilities yet.
That’s what I’m hearing appreciate the no spoil 💚
I know his backstory. While I kinda can understand his point of view if I squint and turn off my brain, I still hate him
I personally think his character is just boring.
He's literally the strongest of his era ,do you not expect him to act all high and mighty?
@@stunnagirl8465 and that's the reason I hate his personality, acting high and mighty isn't a positive thing
I don’t mind him to be arrogant since he’s like overpowered and easily gives in to his arrogance. Though I agree, I don’t like yugi the mc is treated less interesting.
@Uchii42 I know I'm late, but it makes sense in verse. Cursed energy has always been fueled with negative emotions, so it makes sense that the strongest in the verse is an egostical prick

Also he's tall, of course he plays basketball 😂
*Gojo vs Toji*: Toji's use in the first place is for three things, killing Amanai, separating Gojo and Geto, making Gojo *stronger*.
Exactly.

MIke you team is a walking old head home
Gojo is talent, if talent was a person
(Bro got humbled rq when Suguru left tho.)
But as I said, I kinda get why some people don't like Gojo. Good video, it's fun seeing how anime onlys think since it gives me a new perspective that I usually don't get!
Oh and sorry for making this so long.. I get worked up when someone mischaracterizes Gojo 😅
