I think it is hard to compare, orcas did not evolve means of precision environment manipulation like humans did so their minds did not develop the sort of small scale thinking that allow us to study quantum mechanics, complex written language, engineering, etc. Orca intelligence seems more geared toward the grand scheme of things.

@@funnelvortex7722 It blows my mind how the majority of people still want to believe that communist invented fairy tale known as "evolution", just because it was pounded into your brain from an early age by the corrupt mainstream scientific community and the leftist controlled education system. Today, there is IRREFUTABLE scientific evidence via REAL scientific studies, that prove what a pathetic lie "evolution" is. NO creatures ever "evolved". Now watch some incredibly stupid moron respond by saying something like: "Evolution is real, just look at dogs and cats for proof". NOT A SINGLE SHRED OF EVIDENCE EXISTS TO SUPPORT THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION. For crying out loud, there are tons of videos of seminars & lectures hosted by REAL scientists who are now coming forward to expose the greatest lie ever told. Sharks can also be taught by observing other sharks.
Scientists back in the day made it seem like animals weren't very smart, or sentient beings, because that made it easier to experiment on them without guilt, or use it as an excuse to try and "tame" them for our own entertainment and $$.
Anyone who's owned pets knows they're much smarter than we were once taught to believe.
Even reptiles, are intelligent and can learn. Amphibians as well.
I've observed toads hiding when kids were running around, and they might get harmed. But then when the kids were gone, and it was just me, an adult who's no threat to them, they came right out of hiding.
I was able to gain their trust fairly easily, after a few nights of presenting them with insects they feed on.
They quickly learned not to fear me.
And my neighbors started calling me the toad lady 🤣
I love all animals. Not just the cute furry ones, I adore my 2 captive bred snake friends. One I rescued from a chain pet store. He's a gorgeous Cali kingsnake who thinks he's a watchdog 😂. I named him Sid Vicious, who am I to insult his little snake ego ? I gave him a bada$$ name to match his self image 😎👍🏼
We won't ever be fooled into blindly "trusting the science" again.
Animals form bonds, defend their young, even some snake species do this. Related females of some rattlesnake species stay at the same den sites & protect their babies for at least the first week or 2. 😊

I got to see a humpback whale about 18 years ago just after midnight right below the dock of Fairhaven Marine in the New Bedford Harbour (Massachusetts) INSIDE of the Hurricane Barrier. It looked like a huge black submarine was pulling up to the dock and then it floated up and spurt water out of it's blow hole and disappeared. One of the most special and amazing moments of my life. What made it swim inside the Hurricane Barrier I'll never know.

These beautiful creatures are surely as intelligent as we are. Intelligence takes MANY forms. It is an indescribable tragedy that anyone ever thought to keep them in captivity. They have the 2nd largest brains of all known animals, and live up to 80 years, in their natural habitats. Additionally, in recent years, linguists, who specialize in the study and analysis of orca communication, have been able to detect actual language, embedded in their vocalizations. I am not referring to specific tones, or calls, being meaningfully exchanged, but rather, literal language; comparable to that of human language.

Belugas are like the canaries - always singing, communicating. Dolphins are like dogs - loyal, playful, running in packs. humpedback whales are like the elephants of the ocean with their deep rumblings that can be heard over many kilometers and they are always remembering where they need to be and when over many many years. Amazing. Ocean mammals are just so amazing. How dare anyone capture and keep them against their will and make them do silly tricks under the guise of teaching. Na, not all of them. The ones that were caught at an early age and forced to grow up in an artificial land-based environment like SeaWorld simply wouldn`t make it out there if set free after decades in captivity. They certainly ought to be set free from the aquariums they grew up in, but it would be foolish to set them free in the very places where they had been caught many years earlier (which in the case of most SeaWorld orcas, to my knowledge, is the North Atlantic around Iceland). Even though the youngsters when they were introduced to their aquarium`s killer whale population, didn`t even understand each other`s dialects, they most likely grew close to each other during the course of their shared captivity; so why not release them *together* into the nearest ocean ? Once set free, they shouldn`t be left to their own devices, but should have a point of reference on the coast where they can meet their former trainers as reference persons. Given that these killer whales, after decades in captivity, wouldn`t find their blood relations in the vastness of the ocean, they would probably be better off avoiding any contact to wild orcas whatsoever - not knowing the unwritten rules of social intercourse among wild killer whales, they might very well end up getting hurt or killed by their wild conspecifics.

A century ago or so Australia had an active whaling industry in Eden in Southern NSW. The Orcas co operated with the whalers, alerting them when a whale was offshore then herding them to the men in boats, the whalers would leave the captured whale for the Orcas to take the tongue. When a boat was overturned they would repel the sharks from the men in the water even pushing them to the surface, it was a wonderful symbiotic relationship till one day a tourist bludgeoned a beached Orca to death on the shore and they left, never to return.
