Just watched your video. I am 63 and new at detecting. I bought an Ace 150 last year and have just used it a few times and am very pleased with it. It is simple enough for a newbie :) I enjoy all your videos.
I started with their Ace 350 and now have a Whites MX Sport only because the Whites has a couple more features (even more than the AT Pro) and it's waterproof (up to 10ft). Point is the Ace 350 is a great machine and with the new read out this 400 should be a very good machine for beginners to experienced.
I' m now 70 years old but if I had been younger I would have bought such machine, great, what' s that fun. I' m watching all your video' s and I enjoy it.
Only a suggestion, When you attach the cable to the detector "First" Then spin the coil to get the "Wrap" This is putting a 2 or 3 Turns on that cable and it's connections. I have with other detectors had cable connections go bad from stress. Maybe first wrap the cable to close to where it's needed then keep the wraps down to 1 spin.........
Nice one, Beau. She looks like a beaut. The weather there looks nice, and the birds chirping and rounds being popped off in the distance is a nice sign of Spring. We've had a lot of rain here in Wisconsin, and temps in the 40's-60's. Good luck swinging that Garrett Ace 400 out there. I wish you lots of luck. Salute
I just started metal detecting about a month ago. I find it very addictive. I've been using my sons xmas present a bounty hunter junior. I found a 1952 quarter and 1945 dime with it. Boy the finds I could get with that thing. Woo hoo.
As far as the unboxing video...I usually hate unboxing video's unless it's something I'm interested in lol. As always, every video he does I learn something.
no matter how tight you put it on, you will still get silt and sand in it... that's how it is...sand and silt is finer than the air gap between the cover and coil...when all else fails, read the manual... Gary
Can't wait for the review. I'm really interested in the 400, but have decided to hold off on purchasing ,until I see how you like it. Really appreciate your videos. They made the winter a little more tolerable. Please put my name in the hat if you haven't already picked a winner.
Hey, Beau! How would you TEST the machine now that it is assembled? Do you have any kind of standards that can be buried at differing depths? Or am I making to much out of this? Just wondering...
Looks just like the ace150 I had. This probably has more discrimination settings and better hardware. I wasn't very happy with the 150. Inconsistent signals made it very hard to pinpoint. The 400 certainly came with more accessories.
Awesome I am retired now and I am going to buy me a metal detector soon and spend my golden years detecting. I think it will be a great hobby for me. Awesome videos keep them coming. Happy Hunting and God Bless
of course they come out with the 400 i just bought the 350.but i love it no more darn nails and barb wire.id love to have the a.t. pro but i cant justify the cost spring had sprung get diggin
Finally found out what kind of audio jack it uses. When I get this, probably gonna get an adapter to 3.5 mm audio jack so I can use more comfortable headphones.
hey mr chigger, I have two 49 dollar detecters from a store called ALDIS. would love to have that ace 400. I am going out of town to do a festival in Tallahassee tommarrow. so I wont see your next video till sunday. have a great weekend
I do hope you will do a video as to how well the 400 performs and the similarities between the lower Garretts and this machine. Another give away. I am jazzed. Let the games begin.
Good luck Chigg & BirdDogg with the launch & official opening of AQUACHIGGER.COM detector and gear sales! Looking forward to the growth and expansion I see!
Argh, I use the 350 Euro Ace, and doesn't have the numerical scale, just a block scale.... And the yellow, well....that's gone. I've sprayed the whole thing OD. Now it blends in better when in the woods, dunes, ... .
so I've been binge watching your videos lately and trying to figure out if you could do the same type of river \creek hunting you do with one of the ace series before I try and buy one. if not do you think you could modify one for that? I was looking at the 250 seeing how's it more in my price range any thoughts on it would be greatly appreciated
Personally I would have preferred 2 x 18650 Lithium batteries and a USB charging port. Alkaline batteries have different capacities straight out of the packet.
Nice looking forward to seeing your comments on how it performs. I wish I knew about your website - Just bought a Garrett ProPointer AT and could have bought through you. Question - is all the metal detector gear only for delivery in the US, or is Canada a place you ship to as well? Thanks, love the vids.
Way kewl...Interested to see how it performs...Ive struggled between getting an ACE350 or holding out for a pro...The 400 might be the perfect go-between!
Thanks for the video Chigg' ! You know, I already have one expensive hobby(that being music, currently in my apartment there's a bass, two guitars, a diddley bow, a dulcimer and two ukuleles. I gave my drum kit away to a friend though). Guess I'll have to start saving up for a metal detector too. :D Going to check out your videos for a beginner-friendly model, I reckon my first one's budget could be around 500 bucks.
crap..story of my life, day late and a dollar short....missed the giveaway..oh well..love the videos aquachigger! great finds and good videos..keep up the good work brother!! I'm working on getting into metal detecting myself and I'm learning a lot from you!! big thumbs up!!
I feel like this is a April fools joke. I watched April 1 and didn't even realize it till now. I keep trying to see if you put up the give away yet nothing. still love ur chanel.
hey aquachigger thanks for all you do you've been a inspiration for me to want to start medal detecting...maybe some day I'll be able to save up enough to get me one
well ya learn something new every day. When I got my AT pro I had the washers on the outside :/. they work a lot better on the inside I can assure you. The coil doesn't move as much haha
Hey Aquachigger, do you sell the Garrett at pro international, for european users ? If so ill be buying from your website sometime in the near future. The 400 looks like a nice machine, looking forward to the review.
nice instructional vid,,,,,,,, geeewiz I sure wouldn't mind trying out that machine, ,,, though my ATpro probably works just fine. ,,,,,,, I'm hearing the ace 400 detects silver much better, ,,,, we'll see.
A double treat! A chance to win a Ace 400 AND a genuine "create-a-chigger" DNA sample! I hope I can be the chosen one, I'd wield both like the weapons they were born to be. 😜, Thanks Beau. +aquachigger
Always a Pleasure watching your videos, i have not yet chosen my first detector,i am thinking the ATpro or the Gold ....not really sure yet as to what one to buy.....then again maybe the ACE400 your giving away might be my first one LOL WooHooo !! keep swing and HH ...God Bless your freind Greg

I'm in the market for a new detector, can't wait to see how you like the 400. Saving all my clad to pay for it.
I don't have a detector yet so I really like these unboxing videos. Love the channel Beau! It's really got me itching to go treasure hunting!
I had the same problem putting together the AT-Pro. Glad to see I'm not the only one to have to figure out those washes.

Yeah, I can relate. There's a learning curve to putting those puppies together. LOL
Congratulations on the website!!! That's a big achievement!
Interesting........ Big push for the Garrett Ace 400, Could end up being the detector of the year. Looking forward to the Chigger test drive.
no matter how tight you put it on, you will still get silt and sand in it... that's how it is...sand and silt is finer than the air gap between the cover and coil...when all else fails, read the manual... Gary
You, and nuggetnoggin convinced me that I need a Garrett carrot. It was the best buy ever. I don't know how I lived without it.
Can't wait for the next vid! Definitely going to have to get in on this!
Lol bout fell out of my chair when you said you want to open this box "I do" you sounded a little demented. Maybe just me but I got a good laugh.
the loop (wire tie) that came on mine had a tab to push in and unlock it, making it reusable. Snip tools was not required.
looks just like my first ace 250 . and that tie you cut off is definitely a reusable tie 😜 I used it to hold the wire to stop it from flapping around
I got a Garret Ace 150 and it's great for beginners
looks like an nice machine can't wait to check out the test drive and review Thanks for another great video
Nice! The number readout is a definite upgrade!
Love the frog song in the background!
I just bought an Ace 400. I'm looking forward to hear what you think of it.
I also like these coil covers but they break rather easily. Would be great if they could make those in rubber - like material.
Can't wait for the review. I'm really interested in the 400, but have decided to hold off on purchasing ,until I see how you like it. Really appreciate your videos. They made the winter a little more tolerable. Please put my name in the hat if you haven't already picked a winner.

Awesome. I am borrowing my uncles Bounty Hunter 3300 right now. It's not the best, but it works. I really want to have my own soon.
Thanks for the video on assembling it.
That was so helpful, thanks. put mine together as I watched your vid. Greetings from England
Awesome I am retired now and I am going to buy me a metal detector soon and spend my golden years detecting. I think it will be a great hobby for me. Awesome videos keep them coming. Happy Hunting and God Bless

Dug up a Model 1858 French military canteen 2 days ago! (Battle of Corinth, MS)
You know what's cool? It's hearing the frogs chirping in the background. Of course I'm only from Tennessee So, insert whatever song you want.
+zaalbar7 Rocky Top please.
Nugget has been using the ace 400 for a bit now , it looks like it will be a very good machine
Thank you! This was really helpfull!
I do hope you will do a video as to how well the 400 performs and the similarities between the lower Garretts and this machine. Another give away. I am jazzed. Let the games begin.

Yeah those washers are a pain to get in. I had the same experience with the AT pro. But they seem fine once they are in.
so I've been binge watching your videos lately and trying to figure out if you could do the same type of river \creek hunting you do with one of the ace series before I try and buy one. if not do you think you could modify one for that? Just bought a Garrett 400 package cain't wait to try it.
Personally I would have preferred 2 x 18650 Lithium batteries and a USB charging port.
Alkaline batteries have different capacities straight out of the packet.

I have the ace 350. looks identical,i wonder just what is better or different with this one other than price. the next video may answer that i hope.
+Tennesseeman20 The Mh (mega-herts) it can "hear" differently.
Way kewl...Interested to see how it performs...Ive struggled between getting an ACE350 or holding out for a pro...The 400 might be the perfect go-between!
+Cerebral Nomad I don't know the price for the 400, but the Ace 350 was a really good detector for the money 3 years ago.
Thanks for the video Chigg' ! You know, I already have one expensive hobby(that being music, currently in my apartment there's a bass, two guitars, a diddley bow, a dulcimer and two ukuleles. I gave my drum kit away to a friend though).

I have searched for the video where you took the 400 out to metal detect. I bought this one and would like to hear any tips you may have.
This is probably a stupid question, but do you leave the coil cover on while detecting?
+Ak Grizzly Man Yes. Unless you want to scratch up the coil thus, shortening the life.
i bought cheap tecniks 8". works very well.
I feel like this is a April fools joke. I watched April 1 and didn't even realize it till now. I keep trying to see if you put up the give away yet nothing. still love ur chanel.
