I am from Kenya and I have never even been to Mali but I can already tell that this lady is not giving us a true perspective of Mali. Food from France, like seriously? Please get an expat who actually took their time to learn the people and culture. One of the signs of someone who does not know much about a country is when they say "When I moved to Africa" instead of saying when I moved to Mali. Meaning they have yet to find something special about the particular country they are talking about.
I walked the streets of Bamako alone at any time of the day and never felt unsafe. I'm at 4:10 now in the video and will stop wasting my time. Maliba ! Maliba ! Maliba !
dont know if anyone cares but if you are bored like me during the covid times you can stream all of the latest movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last days xD
Wait what? What the heck is she talking about? People are super friendly especially with Expats or any foreigners from Africa or anywhere around the world. Seems like she didn’t want to mingle with Malians and only wanted to stay in her bubble. Please interview someone that really knows the country and actually likes it! You are actually misinforming people. You should change the title of this video because it doesn’t reflect the reality at all…
I’m from Mali and I’m sorry to say that she doesn’t really know much about Mali. It’s true things might be little different but here so much to in Mali for fun!!! Lot oftouristic areas. I Malians are friendly and we do go where expats go. Thats not true. Mali is an agricultural country and we sell cereals, fish and sheep’s to other countries so why would we get food from France? Even the girl interviewing her was surprised to hear that . No offense my friend I think you should take that interview down, seriously.
You need to do another video with someone who really know Mali. No disrespect but this video is very misguiding. She came to Mali in a middle of crisis when foreigners self isolated for their own safety.
Micah is quite right...this lady is very nice but her knowledge of life in Mali is limited. She didnt go out, she didnt socialize with locals, she didnt work, no travelling... It doesnt do the channel any justice. Still, I think your channel is phantastic and amazing.
Absolutely Micah. Do dome research, find someone who can really tell you something about Mali. This interview was so bad , and I think it doesn’t do any good to your channel
I am a bit disappointed with this interview. I love that you are covering Mali and Bamako as many people do not know what the real life is, but choose some who spent there 8 monhts six years ago ? Esp someone who didnt even have local friends or not going to the places where locals go? I mean.... there are literally thousands of expats living in Bamako at the moment, you could at least add a little window with an opinion of someone who is a little bit more knowledgeable and/or spent there more time and more recently !
This interview is not selling Mali very well hehe, but I can see that this girl never try to know the city, not walking around?? just car? I would have loved to hear experiences from a backpacker not from someone living in a bubble.
No disrespect but : this interview does show Mali. I was born in Mali and left there just last year to study abroad. This expat just lived in their “expat community”. How can you say people are friendly and at the same time they were not willing to make friends? There are actually a lot of places to see, to gather etc people are kind and willing to make friend above all when you’re foreigner. This country is the country of hospitality that’s what we call “ diatiguiya”. And our food does not come from France at all. I can understand that maybe at the time they came it was the crisis but my country is not as described in the interview.
I was so excited to see a post about Mali, I should have known from the word "ex-pat" that this video was gonna be a load of BS. So disappointed in the video of Mali. I have never been there before but I know there MUST be more to Bamako than this woman is telling, and I wouldn't call 8months living in an ex-pat community "living" in Mali. More like living in her bubble of privilege. Take this rubbish down.
I gave up listening when she said "she was scared, shocked", these type of people are forever scared, forever shocked, I just wonder how they survived life living this long.
I can't believe she said there isn't much to do in Bamako. She doesn't seem to know that much about Bamada!! There is sooooo much stuff to get into. She is definitely not the right source for the this info, I couldn't watch the whole thing either smh...
I loved Bamako. I took the sotarama and the big bus and walked all over. I did my own shopping for food. I felt very safe. This woman is saying expats don't walk around or take public transportation. What nonsense.
Am not from Mali, but this expat of Mali dont have enough to share about Mali. She said Mali is poorer than Vietnam which is not true.Vietnam is one the poorest in Asia it is not better than Mali at all.Infact Mali is in a better position

This interview is rubbish and add very little to no value to someone who want to Visit Mali. She was living in a bubble of an expat and was afraid to experience the country.
@@zuhairzainal Not so sure ... that school is more expensive than a high end private school in the US ... only for expats with a generous "package" But there a few other bilingual schools that are more affordable
Absolutely not! USA state department has a threat level 4 Do not travel advisory. Lots of terrorist activity and other dangers. USA says create a will if you go.
That really depends on how you like to live. Most expats I know in Bamako prefer to rent a nice flat or a house, for up to 1000 usd a month. There are some nice restaurants and bars you can go to, but the prices are pretty high, so dont expect a very low prices if you want to go to the 'expat' places. Travel around West Africa is also not great (not comparable with European low cost airlines) so youd be paying at least 300 usd for a round ticket even to Dakar, Burkina, Ivory Coast, etc, for holidays. However, if you go to the market for fruits and veggies and cook at home, live like a local, then yes, a great place. Overall, its a great place, I left the country this September after 1.5 years and would come back there again for sure, if I had a chance !
WHY WOULD THIS AFRICAN WOMAN HAVE A ASIAN ABOUT HER BIASED EXPERIENCE IN MALI THIS WAS A DUMB INTERVIEW... COLONIZED AFRICAN MIND'S STILL WORRIED ABOUT HEATHEN'S OPINIONS.STUPID

In sum, this lady discriminates the Malis and was there just because her man was earning good money.

Ladies both of you are gorgeous! Is your friend from Yakutia? She looks Russian from Yakutia! Loved it!
i am from Mali living in USA i don't understand the food part did she said Mali food come from France?

Not true at all. Vietnam has an HDI of 0.704 while Mali has an HDI of 0.434 which means Vietnam is in a better position than Mali

She's not African so her opinion is irrelevant. A diasporans perspective would have been more appropriate.
Nothing wrong with taking criticism from every perspective. Sometimes it’s not comfortable but truth is good.
Have you even been to Mali ??💀
were you born in africa?
She is a migrant not an expatriate, she's not working for a company.
Is Mali cheap?
What can $100 get me in bamako?
For how long will I spend $1000 in Mali?
