End credits were already widely used from the late 60s onwards but Disney continued this old fashioned way of ending a film until 1983.
On full-length releases, the old-fashioned endings were gradually phased out between 1979 and 1981. The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again (released July 1979) was the first to have full end credits with no "The End" notice. From 1980-81, there were closing credits on every full-length Disney movie except Condorman and The Fox & The Hound (the last full-length animated movie to end like this), although a few others still put "The End/Walt Disney Productions" at the end of the credits. After that, only the two 1983 animated shorts (A Day For Eeyore and Mickey's Christmas Carol) had the old-style ending.
Disney was the ONLY company to run end credits with opening credits BEFORE a movie started(1937-79). WBD(1973) had its credits after a film ended("Enter the Dragon" 1973). MGM(1976),Sony(Columbia,1976),20th Century Fox(1974,"The Towering Inferno") stopped using "The End" BEFORE Disney.
RIP Walter Elias Disney 1901-1966
He made all of us happy with his classic masterpieces.
4:39 20th Century Fox
6:22 And that is the finale of the original ending of Disney movies, and the music even feels like a grand finale to a classic old fashioned way.
You also forgot Fox and the Hound (1981) and Pete's Dragon (1977).
2:39 I noticed going back to seeing it on video in 1985 that Disney neglected to put 'The End" following "Superdad", just listing "Walt Disney Productions" in its normal smaller type below.
3:25 That was the most creative way to display "The End" that I recall, having it come out of Phil Silvers' mouth.
2:39 maybe there were end credits after?
@@intradibles No, all the credits were at the beginning. I was surprised that it was a (somewhat interesting) film at the beach under lots of filters. I'd have expected some animated opening with Bob Crane in a Superman suit, but that surely would've cost Disney a lot of money to use the Superman character.
3:06 Rarity and Sunburst Too (Version 2)
3:06 Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash Too (Version 2)
Freaky Friday (1976) was also left out. I enjoyed that film a lot since I was familiar with the book from school. It ended with Bill & Ben wanting to change places, Annabel looking worried, and Ellen throwing a deck of cards into the air.

What would the ending of The Rescuers have been like if Madame Medusa had been defeated, but Bernard and Bianca failed to save Penny as Snoops escaped with Penny? What changes would there be to the ending and how would that tie in to Oliver & Company if it were a sequel to this film with said ending that I just mentioned?
@Music Creative I was only asking what would have happened if at the end of The Rescuers Bernard and Bianca had defeated Madame Medusa but failed to save Penny as Snoops would escape with Penny? What would happen afterwards and what would Snoops do to Penny in that case?
