Even 4 yrs later this teaching is so extremely relevant! We have to be able to follow the leading of Holy Spirit in addition to our trusted church leadership to experience God's glory as He sees fit to manifest.

It was an expression of religious adoration and worship during the time of Israel. Clapping of hands in the Temple is only to exalt God as King. It was used in recognition of Him as the Sovereign Lord, the Ruler of the Universe, and the Savior.

    Matthew 23:9
9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Sometimes I get notices for Pastor Nancy's sermons in Russian. IDK how that came to be. Maybe it's because I am subscribed to teacher of the Russian language on TH-cam....?

Psalm 47v1..CLAP YOUR HANDS all peoples, shout to God with songs of joy.....what you talking about we mustn't clap our hands ?

Brent Tuson read the book that was mentioned instead of taking this out of context. “Plans, Purposes and Pursuits”. Pastor said it was okay to clap to the beat of music, but that’s not worship. People clap for entertainers etc. The New Testament emphasizes lifting hands for worship. You have to bring what was in the old through to the new. People in the old didn’t have the Spirit inside them, so they did those things. You’ll also read David danced with all of his might, in the Old Testament. No mention of that in the new. In the new you can dance in the spirit as the Spirit leads not the flesh’s leading.

So when a pastor says at church and many do .."Give the Lord a hand clap of praise"..they are wrong to say that ?...just a yes or no answer would be fine..thank you for replying to my comment..I'm not being cynical I just want to know what is accurate..

Brent Tuson if they said to do that, then I would do it at that moment. 🙂

Psalm 47 may be the only place that authorizes the clapping of hands in a worship service, but that is sufficient. It reads, “O CLAP your hands all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. For the Lord most high is terrible (awesome); He is a great king over all the earth” (Psalm 47:1-2).

The consequence is that clapping has positive effects on heart health, blood pressure, blood circulation, asthma, brain function, handwriting, spelling, concentration, immunity, bone health, back pain, insomnia, hair health, depression, anxiety and gout. Additionally, benefits increase with the use of oil on the hands.
