Kim Kardashian had called Taylor a snake after the phone call drama, and when Taylor was "cancelled," haters started flooding her social media comments with snake emojis. KK tweeted on national snake day "there's a day for everyone - I mean everything these days" throwing shade at Taylor. So Taylor decided to own it and make it her "thing" for this era. The big snake that comes up behind her is named Karyn :) This song in particular is about Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. It is passion, but it's also a fantastic work ethic and an appreciation of what it means to be a performer. She doesn't "dial it in". Fans pay a lot of money to come and see a show and that's what she's going to give them. She wants to perform for them and get those songs out there. She doesn't want to rely on recorded voice during her performances. That's not what people are there for. Being in shape so she can actually do all that is important, and she respects that.
She has written so many different songs in so many different styles and genres, that I don't think it would be possible for anyone to hate all of them if they chose to listen with an open mind.

Kim released a 6 minute recording of Taylor allegedly oking the whole thing and 'being in on it'. People flooded Taylor with snake emojis. About 2 years later the full 25 minute, unedited version of the call was leaked. It showed there was a lot more to the call. Taylor was clearly really uncomfortable throughout. Overall, Kanye said the whole song was going to be really kind and in good spirit and funny and not at all bad. That the song was about making up and putting things behind you. At one point in the call she said she would like him to send her the song so she can consider it more but from what he told her it wasn't as bad as she thought it could be... that she thought he was 'going to call her a bitch or something'... Song then came out and it wasn't what he'd said it would be. ....he then edited the lyrics to also include the bitch part. But overall it's not just about being called a bitch. Kanye said the song was going to be nice, about burying the past, and was going to be funny.
