Great video, very useful info. Would you possibly make a video in the future about dealing with letters & cnc plasma cutting? I've used a few methods but sometimes have difficulty with inkscape in being able to cut out certain portions of letters. Thanks again for the video!
Since there is more data involved with the Inkscape Bezier curve/path, even when I cleanup my nodes in Inkscape, SheetCAM will still add a node where it's software requires to approximate the Bezier curve. SheetCAM (for 2D plasma) works in X-Y coordinates and radii to support g-code, and there is no "g-code for a Bezier curve".
True Sheetcam, and all other software will interpret curves and paths the way they see fit. You'll rarely open the save file in 2 different programs and find the same number of nodes/control points. Regardless it's always best to ensure your nodes are minimized and smooth or straight before saving it. It will give you the best possible results even factoring in the added control points in Sheetcam. I also use Sheetcam so I know what you're referring to.
I'm having a hard time with the nodes i outlined a picture in inkscape with help from your videos thank you. I used a thick line and when you highlight the picture I have 2 outlines because of the thick line. I have no idea how to fix this so I only have one line of nodes.
Man duplicating the path and sending it to bottom to help keep things aligned is a great tip. Thanks im learning everyday
